Expected dates for Eid Al-Fitr holiday in Jordan 2025
According to these estimates, the 29th of Ramadan, which corresponds to March 29, 2025, falls on a Saturday.
This will be the designated day for moon sighting, which determines the first day of Shawwal and the start of Eid al-Fitr.
If the moon is sighted on Saturday evening, the holiday is expected to begin on Sunday, March 30, 2025, and continue through Tuesday, April 2, 2025, covering the three main days of Eid. There is also the possibility of adding Thursday, April 3, as a fourth day, in line with Jordanian customs.
If the moon is not sighted on Saturday evening, then Monday, March 31, may be the first day of Eid. In that case, the holiday would run from Monday to Wednesday, April 2, with Thursday, April 3, potentially added if the government announces this in its official statement.
It is important to note that Saturday, March 29 (29th of Ramadan) will not be part of the official holiday, as it is a regular workday for some sectors in both the public and private spheres. The official moon sighting results, announced by authorities such as the Department of Fatwas, will confirm the final holiday schedule.
