Michael V. reveals his most memorable parody
Michael V. has been performing comedy skits on 'Bubble Gang' for 30 years. But is there a particular parody that stands out as the most memorable for him? In an interview with GMA News Online, Bitoy shared that in recent years, one of his favorites has been the parody of Morissette Amon's hit song 'Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw.' Released in 2022, 'Gusto Ko Nang Bumigay' talks about being a closeted member of the LGBT+ community who wants to come out and live life as his true self. 'Isa sa mga pinakamatindi 'yung 'Gusto Ko Nang Bumigay' kasi hindi ko naman talaga in-expect na people found deeper meaning to it,' the Kapuso Comedy Genius said. 'Number one sa akin palagi ang humor, pero if you find meaning to it, then it's a good exercise for the mind and for the heart as well,' he added. 'Gusto Ko Nang Bumigay' has garnered positive feedback from netizens, with 'Drag Race Philippines' alum Eva Le Queen describing the song as something that 'hits too close to home.' Since Bitoy has been doing comedy for the past 30 years, the comedian admitted that his approach also had to ride the times, especially with the emergence of social media and the 'woke' culture. 'Dumadami na rin 'yung mga woke na wala namang problema, pero mas dumami 'yung mga 'pa-woke' na naging problema,' he said. 'Napapatahimik na 'yung mga may utak para hindi ma-offend 'yung mga walang utak,' he added. Still, at 'Bubble Gang,' Bitoy said as long as they know where to toe the line, they will keep doing comedy skits for fun. 'Kinikiliti lang naming 'yung masa at mga tao para kahit papaano, mag-isip nang onti,' he said. On Monday morning, Bitoy renewed his contract with GMA Network, marking his 30th year as a Kapuso. Aside from 'Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,' Bitoy has delighted viewers with other viral parodies of hit OPM songs, including 'Sining' by Dionela feat. Jay-R, 'Dilaw" by Maki, and 'Raining in Manila' by Lola Amour. — LA, GMA Integrated News
