The Danish striker, 22, bounced into the stadium mixed zone before booming out: 'Does anyone want to talk to me?'
And there was no hiding his determination to prove to Ruben Amorim that, come what may, he still has a huge part to play in United's season.
Hojlund, who has scored 26 goals - 14 in the Prem - in the two seasons since his £72m arrival at Old Trafford from Atalanta, said: 'The club has told me nothing so far.
'The most important thing for me is just to keep working hard and stay focused and then obviously we'll see what happens.

'My plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens.'
Hojlund conceded: 'Last season was a bit rough and I've tried to sharpen myself over the course of the holidays.
'It was a tough season on us all. I should have done better, everybody knows.
'But it's a team thing, that we're going to be better now. We've shown now in these two games that we're progressing in the right way and looking forward to what's coming. Now I feel very, very good.'

Asked how he coped with seeing a succession of names linked with taking his job as the United spearhead, Hojlund was insistent: 'Competition is fine with me, it sharpens me.
'I'm more than ready. I'm feeling sharp so I'm welcoming everything that comes. It's good with competition and it only sharpens the team.

'When I came to the club, Anthony Martial was there as well.
'He had a lot of injuries, so I had to take a lot of the game time.
'That's just part of it and you're not going to tell me that I shouldn't be playing because I want to play every game.
'But I could have done with some help in terms of sharing the games a bit, especially at the beginning. Now I feel like I've matured a lot and I feel like I'm ready for what's coming.

'I'm definitely convinced I can deliver goals for this team.
'I'm still very young. People forget that sometimes. I'm only 22.
'Not every striker is scoring 100 goals in the age of 22. But I've learned a lot, I think you can see in my game.
'I'm starting to develop and become even better in the basics.
'Now it's just about for me to sharpen myself and I've done very well in the pre-season so far, so I'm just focusing on continuing that.'
Hojlund's goal in Chicago was a glanced header from an excellent Patrick Dorgu cross, and although Amad Diallo was credited with United's third, the No9 was claiming it after causing chaos in the Bournemouth box.
The Dane made it clear the ball had brushed his shin and he smiled: 'Yes, I am claiming it.
'It is definitely mine. I can't help it. It's just..it is my goal. The ball touched my shin so I'm going to definitely claim that one.
'I know Amad wanted it but it's not my fault he shot it against my leg.'

'It has to be a reset... we start from zero' - Iraola confident Cherries will compete

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has no issues with having to change his plans because he has lost so many Illia Zabarnyi is close to completing a £57m move to Paris St-Germain. It would follow on from Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez as a big money exit from the squad that finished a club record equalling ninth in the Premier League last than be irritated by the losses, Iraola treats the demand to find solutions as a challenge, as he outlined when he spoke to BBC Sport in Atlanta just over a week ago."I do not want to lose players but when the window is open, you never know what's going to happen," he said."Obviously, if the more important players stay with us, it's going to be easier - but if something else happens, we will also adapt."We will be like the club. They will be ready for whatever the situation is - and we will do our job."Whatever the scenario is, when the market finishes, the club will give us the players to compete."Iraola is aware of the additional scrutiny on him this season after Bournemouth came so close to securing European qualification for the first he is adamant he will not allow past success to be the measure by which he is judged this term."It has to be a reset," Iraola added. "We start from zero. Everyone starts from zero."Once you play one or two games, nobody will remember what we did last season."Follow your Premier League team on BBC Sport

£104m star told why he should snub Man City for Man Utd transfer

Carlos Baleba has been told to pick Manchester United over Manchester City because of the Red Devils' significant 'history' and 'heritage'. Both Manchester clubs are interested in a deal to sign the Brighton midfielder, with the Seagulls reportedly slapping a £104m price tag on the player. United are keen to recruit a new No.6 – and have made Baleba one of their main targets – but Pep Guardiola is believed to be a long-term admirer. Baleba, 21, was named Brighton's Young Player of the Season last term after a number of impressive performances in the Premier League. In The Mixer: Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every week – sign up, it's an open goal. Quizzed why Baleba should move to Old Trafford instead of the Etihad, former United defender Wes Brown told Metro via Joe Fortune Casino: 'Man United have a big heritage and a big history. 'You can see with the signings we've made that we're tyring to get back to winning ways. 'He's done really well. He's a player who has probably been under the radar a little bit. 'He's quick, sharp, he has a brilliant left foot, he gets in your face and he can tackle. 'I think he's the sort of player the manager is looking for in midfield. He's be very exciting. 'He'd put a stamp on the midfield along with Bruno Fernandes. He'd be a really positive buy.' United do not currently have the funds to sign Baleba, who they value at around £70m despite Brighton's £104m price tag. But the potential sales of Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho could see United make an approach before the current window closes. More Trending Baleba, though, is thought to be happy to stay with Brighton for the 2025-25 season, with a move considered more likely next summer. Should United fail in their mission to sign Baeba, Brown feels that Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton would be a decent alternative option. 'He's a very nice player – and he's English as well,' Brown added. 'He's got better and better each season. He's good on the ball. 'He's a little different to Baleba but when you watch him play he's got balance and he doesn't panic. I think either of them would be good additions.'
