Clarkson denies Rightmove claim he grew up at Yorkshire mansion
Oxfordshire's Jeremy Clarkson has sensationally denied he is associated with a Yorkshire mansion, publicly advertised as where he grew up.
Property website Rightmove has described a five-bedroom Grade II listed property as the 'childhood home of the Top Gear and Clarkson's Farm legend'.
Located in the town of Tickhill near Doncaster, it is set in more than 5,000 square feet with three bathrooms, four reception rooms and a large garden.
Called a 'famous home' by the property website, its current starting price is £1,475,000.

However, in a twist Mr Clarkson has taken to social media platform X to deny he ever lived at the detached house.

The former Top Gear presenter responded by saying: 'Keep reading about that. Never lived there.'
Mr Clarkson was born in Spotbrough in the West Riding of Yorkshire before training as a journalist with the Rotherham Advertiser.

Since 2021, he has led Amazon smash-hit Clarkson's Farm, which has made stars out of its cast including Kaleb Cooper and Lisa Hogan.
It is set within the Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington near Chipping Norton.
Since Mr Clarkson has denied association with the property advertised as his childhood home, Rightmove has been contacted for comment.

Ye olde Five Crowns in Corona del Mar to mark its 60th anniversary with special menu
A kilted groom and a bride wearing white walked into the English garden at Five Crowns to applause from friends and family on a recent Friday evening. The happy couple's wedding reception was one of two celebrations happening at the landmark Corona del Mar restaurant that night; upstairs a rehearsal dinner was underway. Serving the Orange County community for six decades, the Five Crowns is part of the Lawry's Restaurants Inc. and has long been a place for diners to make special memories and celebrate milestones. This year marks the restaurant's 60th anniversary and to commemorate the Jubilee year, Five Crowns is offering a special menu, a Jubilee cocktail and partnering with Orange County School of the Arts. 'We want to say cheers to 60 years in the community and to an incredible legacy here in Corona del Mar,' said Ryan O'Melveny Wilson, Lawry's chief executive officer. Five Crowns is housed in a replica of Ye Olde Bell, England's oldest inn. The Corona del Mar building was constructed in 1936 by Matilda 'Tillie' Lemon MacCulloch. Originally known as the Hurley Bell, the MacCulloch family used it as their home until the 1940s, when it was leased by a series of unsuccessful restaurateurs. That is, until the Lawrence Frank and Walter Van de Kamp families, who founded the iconic Tam O'Shanter in Los Angeles, bought the old Hurley Bell and the adjoining parking lot for $450,000. They named it the Five Crowns, as it was the restaurant group's fifth establishment and fifth 'jewel in the crown.' The space was remodeled and Five Crowns opened in 1965, counting former President Richard Nixon and former First Lady Pat Nixon, as well as Bugs Bunny animator Chuck Jones among its guests. Today the restaurant boasts cozy fireplaces, an English garden and a sunlit greenhouse. In Orange County, Five Crowns is known for its prime rib dinners, still served with au jus, Yorkshire pudding and the iconic red London telephone box situated outside. Some staff members have worked at the restaurant for years, witnessing different generations visit it. Wilson himself is the fourth generation proprietor of the Five Crowns and celebrated his own wedding at the restaurant. He began his career there with a kitchen job in 2002 and eventually played a developmental role in the opening of SideDoor, the English-style gastropub within the restaurant. He said he is proud of the menu Five Crowns has put together for its 60th anniversary. 'Our culinary director has done an incredible job,' said Wilson. 'He has such a great approach to the technique and training and it was a fun exercise to dig into our archives for recipes.' The special anniversary dinners will start with a continental Louie cocktail, not unlike the seafood cocktails offered on the original 'Bille of Faer' menu in 1965. Crab and shrimp are mixed in Louie dressing, breakfast radish and chopped egg served on little gems with a side of hot toast. For entrees, guests can choose from Jidori chicken Milanese-style with caviar beurre blanc, dry-aged roast duck with roasted plum, Dover sole Veronika finished tableside, or a 22-ounce, 45-day dry-aged bone-in English rib chop with crisply fried onions and beef fat hollandaise. Additional sides like potatoes O'Brien and green beans with toasted almonds can also be added to the set menu to round out the feast. For dessert, guests are invited to choose between classic British Banoffee pie or Eton Mess, made with Harry's berries and meringue cookies. The anniversary prix fixe menu is available July 10 through 30 and can be enjoyed with the Jubilee cocktail, prepared table side for the celebration. Balvenie 16 French Oak, Drambuie and Cuvée Louis-Alexandre Grand Marnier are paired with housemade Queen Ann tea syrup and bitters, poured over a diamond-cut ice cube and served in a keepsake 60th anniversary glass. Additionally, Five Crowns is partnering with the Orange County School of the Arts to unveil a new exterior mural celebrating the restaurant's history and British heritage. High school student artists from OCSA will be selected to create the design and two of the student teams will be awarded a $500 scholarship and dinner for two at the restaurant. As the recent Friday night went on, Wilson raised a glass of sparkling wine from Sussex, England, marveling at the restaurant's long success and unwavering popularity. 'Even tonight, we have regular business, a wedding, a bunch of parties and then we are here celebrating the 60th anniversary,' he said. He says he's confident the timelessness of ye olde Five Crowns is sure to keep diners returning for years to come. Five Crowns is located at 3801 E. Jeff Bezos Wedding Plans Disrupted After Protesters Threaten to Fill Venice Canals With Inflatable Crocodiles
Jeff Bezos is getting married this week in a lavish wedding filled with famous guests that's rumored to cost as much as $75 million. The Amazon founder and his bride-to-be, Lauren Sanchez, have arrived in Venice, Italy, for the celebration, but protesters have already derailed some of their plans. Specifically, activists threatened to fill the Venice canals with inflatable animals to make sure that guests would be unable to get around. Activists with Greenpeace, No Space for Bezos, and a UK-based group called Everyone Hates Elon have all been making their displeasure known this week, with a large banner unfurled in St. Mark's Square reading, 'If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax.' But the main victory that protesters are claiming thus far is forcing Bezos to change venues for the wedding reception, which was originally slated for Scuola Grande della Misericordia (Old School of Mercy), a 16th-century church and meeting building. Organizers from No Space for Bezos told the BBC they'd gotten the venue moved to the Venetian Arsenal after saying they would fill the canals with inflatable crocodiles, flamingos, ducks, and unicorns. 'We are very proud of this! We are nobodies, we have no money, nothing!' an organizer from No Space for Bezos, Tommaso Cacciari, told the BBC. 'We're just citizens who started organizing and we managed to move one of the most powerful people in the world—all the billionaires—out of the city.' A Greenpeace organizer said it wasn't so much about protesting these specific two people but what they represent more broadly. 'The richest live in excess, while others endure the consequences of a climate emergency they didn't create,' the protester explained to the BBC. The Arsenal is a 12th-century complex of former armories and shipyards, which the Guardian notes is fortified in such a way that it's harder for protesters to disrupt. The goal with all the inflatable animals was to make it harder for guests of the wedding to arrive at the venue, and those folks are high-profile enough that they'll certainly be coming with their own entourages. Rumored guests include Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, and Leonardo DiCaprio, among a host of others. The guest list includes about 200 people, according to the Guardian. The Instagram account for No Space for Bezos posted a video last week showing the group hanging up a banner that included the word Bezos crossed out in red. The video also included a song about Bezos that's critical of billionaires, to say the least. Another post from the account depicted Bezos with a World War II-era German military helmet that reads 'AWS,' a likely reference to the fact that Amazon is a major defense contractor through its cloud services. The caption reads, 'No Bezos, No War.' From the Washington Post: Glassblowers, mask makers and bakeries are counting their euros for a multiday event that has City Hall swooning. Officials project the economic benefits — among them a $1 million donation to groups including a research institute — in the low eight digits. The newspaper also noted that other big weddings in Venice over the past two decades, including George Clooney's wedding in 2014 and the wedding of an Indian heiress in 2011, didn't attract protests. But that might have something to do with the fact that Clooney isn't the third wealthiest person in the world or working to help the most powerful fascist in the world, Donald Trump, as he recklessly bombs other countries. The No Space for Bezos Instagram account posted a video earlier this week showing Bezos, who's worth $228 billion according to Forbes, attending Trump's inauguration and palling around with other oligarchs like Elon Musk. View this post on InstagramBezos and Sanchez will reportedly be exchanging vows on Friday at the San Giorgio Maggiore basilica on San Giorgio Maggiore island. But activists aren't done yet. Even if they can't physically disrupt the wedding venues anymore, No Space for Bezos plans to use projections on Saturday to protest, according to the BBC. They also plan on leading a march and they're inviting everyone in the area to join.

Robert Downey Jr. is the biggest Pedro Pascal fan
Pedro Pascal is pretty beloved these days, including by other celebs. The actor has been filming the forthcoming Marvel movie 'Avengers: Doomsday' in the UK, where his costar Robert Downey Jr. had some words of praise for Pascal in a new Vanity Fair profile. But ever humble, Pascal told the publication that he knows not everyone is thrilled about his entry into the Marvel universe. 'I'm more aware of disgruntlement around my casting than anything I've ever done,' he said. ''He's too old. He's not right. He needs to shave.'' He's been taking cues from Downey. 'He's just so immediately generous and inviting that you feel like you can be afraid, you can be hungry, you can be ambivalent,' Pascal said. The admiration is mutual. 'Pascal's slow trajectory to becoming a household name who is on a wildly hot streak kind of reaffirms my faith in our industry,' Downey said. There are few details have been shared publicly about their upcoming 'Avengers' assembly. Downey is playing Victor Von Doom and Pascal is playing Reed Reynolds. Downey has previously played Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel movies.
