Is SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Setting Up the Punisher as Leader of the Hand? — GeekTyrant

The MCU might be diving into some dark territory with Spider-Man: Brand New Day , and a recent set photo has fans asking a wild question… is Frank Castle taking over The Hand? A photo snapped from the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows a tank marked with a strange, demonic symbol. At first glance, it screamed Inner Demons, which pointed toward Mister Negative. But sources say Mister Negative isn't part of this movie at all. So, what does that symbol really mean? Fans have noted the resemblance to The Hand's iconic logo, and word is that The Punisher might be the one behind the wheel of that tank. If that's the case, Spider-Man: Brand New Day could be teeing up something huge for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially with Jon Bernthal back in action. Adding more fuel to the fire, there's already talk about Japanese-inspired villains playing a role in the story. That makes The Hand a natural fit, especially if Marvel is planning to build into Daredevil: Born Again season 3. In the comics, Frank Castle didn't just fight The Hand, he led them. But not without a cost. In that storyline, The Hand offers Frank leadership and the resurrection of his wife, Maria. He accepts, unleashing their deadly resources to take out major threats like Warlord, Hate-Monger, and the Apostles of War, an arms-dealing syndicate created by Ares, the Greek god of war. Frank also targets society's worst, executing murderers, rapists, and abusers who slipped through the cracks. But it doesn't take long for Frank to see the cracks in The Hand's mission. They weren't just killing the guilty. Innocents were dying too. With immense effort, Frank broke free of their grip, but the story raised powerful questions about control, vengeance, and how far he'd go to clean up the world. Could Spider-Man: Brand New Day weave this into Peter Parker's story? It's not impossible. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home , Peter is completely alone in a world that's forgotten him. If The Hand offered a way to bring back Aunt May, would he take it? That temptation could set up a darker, more complicated Peter, especially if he's forced to cross paths with Frank. And then there's Matt Murdock. If Marvel is laying the groundwork for Shadowland , a story where Daredevil takes over The Hand, things could get even more intense. Frank might step into that role instead, possibly becoming the next big villain in Daredevil: Born Again . It's a interesting direction, but signs are pointing that way, and if The Punisher really is set to lead The Hand, we might get some early clues in the upcoming Punisher Special Presentation . There's even a chance Frank could be killed and brought back by The Hand as their weapon. That would be wild. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton ( Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ), Spider-Man: Brand New Day is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, joined by Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.

The luxury, 387-room hotel, located in Tokyo's Roppongi Hills complex, is collaborating with the Nintendo, the parent company of Pokémon, to give its fans the ultimate respite this summer: a few nights surrounded by their favorite pocket monsters. From now through the end of August, guests can make a reservation to experience either the Pokémon Beach Resort Stay or the Pokémon Suite Stay packages. The Suite Stay package is only available in one room and comes with an array of goodies. For a whopping 550,000 yen (about $3,730), guests will get a night's stay in Grand Hyatt Tokyo's 1,291-square-foot Chairman Suite. Decked out in the hotel's signature warm woods and lush fabrics, the king-sized suite features an expansive living room; a deep, limestone soaking tub; and complimentary Balmain bath amenities. As part of the Pokémon collaboration, those staying in the spacious suite will enjoy beach-inspired decor featuring palm trees, Pokémon illustrations, and a variety of Poké-plushies. Additionally, guests can take home one of the hotel's collaboration sets, which has a custom Pokémon-embroidered Garnier-Thiebaut bathrobe and beach towel, a beach bag, a cap, and an oversized T-shirt. Those who opt for the standard Pokémon Beach Resort Stay, available in 10 of the hotel's twin rooms, will still get to experience the beautiful summer-themed decorations, but at around a fifth of the price. The Pokémon experience extends beyond the rooms. The hotel has an exclusive menu for those who take advantage of the package, with special themed dishes modeled after some of the franchise's most beloved characters. Suite guests, for example, can indulge in a tropical gourmet Bulbasaur burger made with pork shoulder and grilled pineapple, a Squirtle ricotta cheese tart, and a Piplup blue soda for one dinner. Both suite and standard stay guests can also look forward to custom Pikachu fruit pancakes for breakfast, alongside offerings from The French Kitchen, the hotel's all-day restaurant. DJ Calvin Harris divides the internet with gory placenta pics after son's home birth

Fans had mixed reactions when Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris announced the birth of his first child with British TV presenter Vick Hope (35) by sharing a series of intimate images from the home birth. The couple welcomed their baby boy, Micah, on 20 July in Ibiza, Spain. Earlier this week, Calvin (41) posted a carousel of images on Instagram showcasing the birth and the hours that followed. The first photo shows Calvin sitting on an outdoor sofa, holding a naked newborn Micah against his chest, his eyes closed in a moment of calm. Another captures a tender moment at the birthing pool, with Calvin leaning over to cradle his son seconds after delivery. But it was the third image that caused the biggest stir: a close-up of his wife Vick's placenta, still attached to the umbilical cord, on a bloody sheet. '20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom!' Calvin wrote in the caption. 'Just so grateful. We love you so much, Micah.' The series went on to show the placenta cut into chunks in a food dehydrator, then encapsulated in pill form. Some mothers choose to consume the placenta this way postpartum for its supposed health benefits. The post sparked mixed reactions online. Many praised Calvin and Vick (35) for offering such a raw and natural look at childbirth. 'Congratulations! Thank you for normalising home birth (and placentas!) with these beautiful pictures. What a dream,' one fan wrote. Others applauded the lack of stigma: 'WOMEN asking for a trigger warning is just sad. That's all I gotta say. It's normal, y'all. Grow up. And congratulations to you and your beautiful wife and gorgeous baby!!' But not everyone was ready for the graphic detail. 'Swiping: 'Oh wow! . . . That's amazing . . . Congratula . . . WHAT THE—?!'' one follower remarked. Instagram has since placed an age restriction on the post due to its explicit birth imagery. Placenta encapsulation is the practice of steaming, dehydrating, grinding and placing the placenta into capsules for the mother to ingest after birth. Other celeb moms including Kim Kardashian, her sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker and actress Mandy Moore have also chosen to go this route. Advocates claim the pills can: Boost energy Balance postpartum hormones Improve mood Increase milk production Restore depleted nutrients, particularly iron However, medical experts remain unconvinced. Studies on the benefits of placenta consumption are limited, and organisations such as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) caution that the practice may carry risks, including bacterial contamination.
