Trump Brags About Hosting Olympics and World Cup in Memorial Day Speech: ‘I Have Everything'
President Donald Trump used his Memorial Day speech on Monday to boast that he would be the sitting president when the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics come to the United States.
'Amazing, the way things work out,' Trump marveled. 'I got the World Cup, and I got the Olympics.'
Addressing a crowd after visiting the Arlington National Cemetery with Vice President J.D. Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, where he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Trump joked he was glad that he lost the 2020 U.S. Presidential election because he'd be able to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States Army.
'In some ways, I'm glad I missed that second term where it was, because I wouldn't be your president for that — most important of all,' Trump said before getting sidetracked. 'In addition, we have the World Cup, and we have the Olympics. Can you imagine? I missed that four years, and now look what I have. I have everything.'
Trump only managed to get through four minutes of his speech before taking a swipe at the previous administration, saying that while soldiers had laid down their lives for the 'most noble Republic ever to exist on the face of the earth,' he was now in the process of 'fixing' the country.
'That was a hard four years we went through,' Trump said to applause. 'Who would let that happen? People pouring through our borders, unchecked. People doing things that are indescribable and not for today to discuss.'
Still, Trump spent the majority of his address thanking the families of fallen veterans. 'Every Gold Star family fights a battle long after the victory is won,' Trump said. 'Today, we lift you up and we hold you high … Thank you for giving America the brightest light in your lives. It's what you've done. We will never ever forget our fallen heroes, and we will never forget our debt to you.'
It was a markedly more somber tone than earlier in the morning, when Trump posted an all-caps, run-on-sentence tirade on Truth Social complaining about immigration policies, 'USA-hating judges,' and 'monsters who want our country to go to hell.'
'HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL, INCLUDING THE SCUM THAT SPENT THE LAST FOUR YEARS TRYING TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY THROUGH WARPED RADICAL LEFT MINDS,' Trump wrote. 'WHO ALLOWED 21,000,000 MILLION PEOPLE TO ILLEGALLY ENTER OUR COUNTRY, MANY OF THEM BEING CRIMINALS AND THE MENTALLY INSANE, THROUGH AN OPEN BORDER THAT ONLY AN INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT WOULD APPROVE, AND THROUGH JUDGES WHO ARE ON A MISSION TO KEEP MURDERERS, DRUG DEALERS, RAPISTS, GANG MEMBERS, AND RELEASED PRISONERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, IN OUR COUNTRY SO THEY CAN ROB, MURDER, AND RAPE AGAIN — ALL PROTECTED BY THESE USA HATING JUDGES WHO SUFFER FROM AN IDEOLOGY THAT IS SICK, AND VERY DANGEROUS FOR OUR COUNTRY. HOPEFULLY THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT, AND OTHER GOOD AND COMPASSIONATE JUDGES THROUGHOUT THE LAND, WILL SAVE US FROM THE DECISIONS OF THE MONSTERS WHO WANT OUR COUNTRY TO GO TO HELL. BUT FEAR NOT, WE HAVE MADE GREAT PROGRESS OVER THE LAST 4 MONTHS, AND AMERICA WILL SOON BE SAFE AND GREAT AGAIN! AGAIN, HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY, AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!'

Russian strike kills 5, including 1 year old, hours after Trump calls Putin
KYIV, Ukraine — At least five people, including a one-year-old child, were killed in a Russian drone strike on the northern Ukrainian city of Pryluky overnight, regional governor Viacheslav Chaus said Thursday. The attack came just hours after Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin . According to Trump, Putin 'very strongly' said that Russia will retaliate for Ukraine's weekend drone attacks on Russian military airfields . Six more people were wounded in the attack and have been hospitalized, Chaus said. According to him, six Shahed-type drones struck residential areas of Pryluky early Thursday morning, causing severe damage to residential buildings. Hours later, seventeen people were wounded in a Russian drone strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv early Thursday, including children, a pregnant woman, and a 93-year-old woman, regional head Oleh Syniehubov wrote on Telegram. At around 1:05 a.m., Shahed-type drones struck two apartment buildings in the city's Slobidskyi district, causing fires and destroying several private vehicles. 'By launching attacks while people sleep in their homes, the enemy once again confirms its tactic of insidious terror,' Syniehubov wrote on Telegram.

Trump Bans Harvard's International Students From Entering US
Officials from Harvard University on Wednesday night criticized President Donald Trump's move to block the entry of its international students and researchers into the U.S. and revoke their visas, as the White House sought to reposition its fight to block the entry of the university's international students into the U.S. as a national security issue. In a proclamation signed on Wednesday night, the president suspended the entry into the U.S. of any new Harvard University student or researcher under the F, M, or J student and exchange visitor visas. The president has also ordered Secretary of State Marco Rubio to 'consider revoking existing F, M, or J visas' for existing Harvard students. The move does not impact international students attending other U.S. universities and will also not apply to Harvard students, 'whose entry is deemed in the national interest.' The White House's announcement outlined multiple grievances with the university, including allegations of foreign adversaries taking advantage of 'easy access to American higher education' and Harvard's refusal to share disciplinary records for foreign students. The announcement said its stated issues have ' compelled the Federal government to conclude that Harvard University is no longer a trustworthy steward of international student and exchange visitor programs.' In a statement issued to multiple outlets, Harvard University spokesperson Jason Newton said: 'This is yet another illegal retaliatory step taken by the Administration in violation of Harvard's First Amendment rights…Harvard will continue to protect its international students.' In a post on X, Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote: 'Admission to the United States to study at an 'elite' American university is a privilege, not a right. This Department of Justice will vigorously defend the President's proclamation suspending the entry of new foreign students at Harvard University based on national security concerns.'
