ASTON VILLA have been slapped with a hefty £125,000 fine after admitting to breaking Premier League rules on the multiball system.
The Premier League has confirmed that Villa breached the system, which was introduced two seasons ago to keep games flowing and improve the fan experience.

A Premier League statement read: "The Premier League has entered into a sanction agreement with Aston Villa FC after the club accepted it had breached the Premier League's multiball rules.
"First introduced in the 2022/23 season, the multiball system is intended to maintain the flow of League matches, reduce delays, and enhance the fan experience."
Unai Emery's side accepted that they had violated the rule five times during the 2024/2025 season, which led to them being hit hard by the governing body.
The multiball rule was introduced with the aim of preventing home clubs from gaining an unfair advantage.
Villa's breach serves as a reminder that all clubs must comply with these important guidelines.
In addition to the fine, Villa will also be banned from using the multiball system in their first three home league games of the 2025/26 season – a serious blow to the club's matchday operations.
Unai Emery's men will pay the price for their mistakes and their first three home games against Newecastle, Crystal and Fulham will all feel the impact of this punishment.
Meanwhile, the club is increasingly hopeful that Morgan Rogers will be fit for Saturday's Premier League opener against Newcastle.

The forward, a contender for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, injured his ankle in a pre-season friendly against Roma on August 6 and did not feature in the preparation games against Marseille and Villarreal.
However, Rogers has been involved in training this week and confidence is growing that he will be ready for the clash with Eddie Howe's team at Villa Park.

Rogers, 23, was one of the breakout stars of the last Premier League campaign and was linked to Chelsea this summer.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City? Hasselbaink names his favourite for Premier League

Chelsea hero Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has picked out Manchester City as his favourites for the Premier League title this season. City's sustained period of dominance came crashing to a halt last term as Liverpool stormed to the top-flight title for an 18th time in Arne Slot's debut year in English football. Having hoisted the trophy aloft in each of the previous four seasons, Pep Guardiola's City eventually had to settle for third place – with 13 points separating them from the eventual champions. But City supporters were able to take some encouragement from their resurgence across a strong end to the campaign, which ensured another year of Champions League football. Etihad bosses have made sure to invest heavily across a free-spending summer transfer window to give Guardiola's men the best possible chance of knocking Liverpool off their perch again this season. The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish have made way in recent months, but Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and James Trafford have all been recruited – for a combined fee of around £108million – to bolster a new-look City squad. And after a promising pre-season, the eight-time Premier League champions got the new campaign off to a blistering start, putting four goals past Wolves to clinch top spot ahead of their clash with Tottenham. Sky Sports is going full throttle this Premier League season, airing a record-breaking 215 live matches - that's nearly double the usual dose of drama, goals, and post-match meltdowns. From Friday night clashes to Super Sundays and even all ten final-day fixtures, Sky's new deal means fans won't miss a single nutmeg or last-minute screamer. Whether you're team Sky Q, Sky Glass, or prefer streaming via NOW, you're covered. And with pundits like Jamie Carragher probably already rehearsing their 'I told you so' lines, expect top-tier commentary alongside top-tier football. As Pep might say, 'More games, more problems - for the other teams.' Check out the latest deals from Sky here, starting from £15 a month. Reijnders, in particular, shone on debut, doubling City's lead before assisting Erling Haaland at Molineux – and Hasselbaink was mightily impressed with what he saw from his fellow Dutchman. 'He's not going to get as many assists as De Bruyne,' Hasselbaink told Sky Sports News of Reijnders' eye-catching start for City. 'He's going to be more available and I think he's going to score more goals than De Bruyne. But assists-wise, I don't think that there are going to be as many. 'But the boy can play and they have found a diamond there.' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The former Chelsea and Netherlands striker has seen enough to believe that City are 'the team to beat' again after their disappointing season last term. 'Manchester City is my favourite for the year to win the title,' Hasselbaink added. 'Everyone is talking about Liverpool and I do think it's going to be very close, but Manchester City, for me, is the team to beat.' During an interview with HaytersTV, Hasselbaink's former Chelsea team-mate Joe Cole backed Liverpool to successfully defend their title having won 'at a canter' last season. Cole also revealed his doubts surrounding Arsenal's marquee summer signing Viktor Gyokeres, who he feels is yet to prove himself despite his extraordinary goalscoring exploits at Sporting. 'I make them [Liverpool] favourites [for the title]. They've strengthened and they won it at a canter last season,' Cole told Hayters TV. 'I think this might be [Mikel] Arteta's best chance that he's had. He's got a centre-forward in, but there's still a question mark there. 'It's not like you're bringing in a player like… if Arsenal would've gone and signed Osimhen, who I've seen do it in Italy and in Turkey… 'This kid [Gyokeres], there is still a question mark. I think he's going to be alright, I think he'll score goals, but I just think Liverpool are the best side at the moment. 'The best chance the other teams have is if Liverpool have a slow start because there's a lot of change, but by the end of the season I expect them to be motoring.' There were a couple of today's rivals behind him that, including Sisyphean who has each-way claims again. Kevin Stott's mount enjoyed the quick ground there and that was just his handicap debut so there should be more to come. A 4lb rise in the weights is more than fair and his stall 11 draw should be fine in this big field. RAINBOWS EDGE (4.10 York, nb) She has gone close a couple of times at Listed level and this is a great winning chance. She took a fast-ground handicap over a mile at Ascot in May and proved that was no fluke when denied only a neck over 1m2f in a stronger race than this here last month. That form looks rock solid and today's extra furlong looks within reach given how she stuck on that day. The Gosden filly is unexposed at 1m4f, and boasts the right blend of class and tactical speed for a race expected to be run at a strong pace. BONUS TIME (5.20 York, treble) She scored nicely at Naas last time on the back of a good effort at Leopardstown and The Curragh. There's more to come and this track and trip should be ideal. Templegate's TV verdicts YORK 1.50 ROYAL FIXATION can swoop late to land the Lowther. She surged home for second in the Duchess of Cambridge at Newmarket on just her second start, clocking a smart speed figure and shaping like a filly with loads more to come. With plenty of pace likely and fast ground to suit, this should fall nicely for her. America Queen looked electric on debut at Haydock and she's a big threat on this major rise in class. Staya also caught the eye finishing fast in a strong Group 3 at Ascot and will be running on late. Argentine Tango is hard as nails, already a Listed winner and second in the Molecomb so has place claims. Dandana is unbeaten and progressive but untested at this level, while Wor Faayth is thriving but needs more after a French Listed win. Pearl Fortune, Timeforshowcasing and Secret Hideaway all step into deeper waters here too so need to improve plenty. 2.25 GOLDEN BROWN was really unlucky in a hot contest at Godowood last time. He was knocked sideways inside the final quarter-mile before keeping on. He's unexposed, back on quicker ground and this stronger pace should suit. Tadej sets the standard after winning a French Group 3 and remains unbeaten at 6f, but he'll have to be at his best to take this from the front. Anthelia has already landed the Super Sprint at Newbury and a Listed prize. She's tough and progressive, though all her wins are at 5f. Song Of The Clyde is progressive and has place claims. Raakeb ran with credit in the Superlative at Newmarket and is best over this trip so is on the shortlist too. Ardisia is thriving and well suited to this likely fast-run 6f, but will need luck from his draw and usual tardy start. Kamakameleon was fifth in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot and shouldn't be underestimated. 3.00 REMMOOZ looked a Group horse in the making when winning on handicap debut over course and distance last time. He saw off a few of today's rivals with a bit left in the tank. Owen Burrows will conjure more improvement from him even from a mark of 102. Big dangers include Bullet Point, who's in peak form and rarely runs a bad race. He was narrowly denied in a red-hot contest at Ascot last time and will likely force the pace again from a low draw. Apiarist shaped better than the bare result in a big-field Galway handicap and is a player back on faster ground. Urban Lion has improved steadily this term and was a close third in a strong Ascot contest last time. He stays 1m well and has form at the track. Old Cock, Northern Express and Sisyphean are all proven here and not discounted for a place. 3.35 MINNIE HAUK is the clear standout in this small but classy renewal of the Yorkshire Oaks. Unbeaten this season and already a dual Oaks winner, she's been dominant over this trip and shaped as though there was plenty in the tank when grinding out victory in the Irish Oaks last month. Conditions are ideal - she's handled everything from soft to good - and her tactical speed combined with staying power make her a nightmare to peg back. Estrange has done little wrong, also unbeaten this term, but her only defeat came on firm ground and that lingers as a slight concern unless the track catches a shower or two. She should run another decent race. Garden Of Eden wasn't at her best in Germany last time so has something to prove after that and may find this sharpish 1m4f a tad on the quick side. Qilin Queen has been well placed this season and made all in a French Group 2 last time, but faces a serious class hike now. She will have to take a major step forward to figure in this. 4.10 RAINBOWS EDGE has gone close a couple of times at Listed level and this is a great winning chance. She can confirm form with Charlotte's Web on their clash here with the Crisford runner looking the main threat again. Karmology and Alice Monet are in-form dangers, while the lightly raced Aeolian is open to further progress at this trip. At bigger odds, Lady Vivian could bounce back returned to a calmer grade and stamina test after a decent effort at Group 2 level last time. Chelsea line up future move for Brighton star as transfer deal is agreed

Brighton midfielder Julio Enciso is being lined up for a future at Stamford Bridge after agreeing a deal with BlueCo – the group that owns Chelsea and Strasbourg. The 21-year-old had been tipped for big things after announcing himself to Premier League fans with a Puskas Award-nominated strike against Manchester City to help Brighton secure a place in the 2023/24 Europa League. But Enciso struggled to nail down a starting spot on the south coast and spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich, where he racked up two goals and three assists in 13 appearances. Following Ipswich's relegation into the Championship, Enciso made it clear he was keen to explore possible opportunities away from the Amex Stadium, with regular first-team minutes seen as an absolute priority. According to The Athletic, BlueCo have now agreed personal terms with Enciso's camp and the Paraguay international is expected to join up with Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg imminently. However, the report claims Enciso is 'viewed as a long-term Chelsea player' by Todd Boehly's BlueCo consortium, who completed a takeover of the west London giants in 2022. After assuming control of Strasbourg 12 months later, Boehly spoke about the multi-club model providing a route for young talent to force their way into the reckoning at Chelsea. 'We can show pathways for our young superstars to get onto the Chelsea pitch while getting them real game-time,' the American billionaire said. Enciso will no doubt be desperate to make an impression in French football with Strasbourg, managed by Liam Rosenior, but the youngster first has to work his way back from knee surgery – which has kept him sidelined since May. The injury meant Enciso did not feature in Brighton's pre-season plans or in the side's 1-1 draw with Fulham last weekend. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Brighton's hierarchy had been in agreement that Enciso would be surplus to requirements for the new season, with Fabian Hurzeler well stocked in midfield. Enciso had just 12 months remaining on his contract with the Seagulls. Speaking to ABC Paraguay in May, Enciso revealed that he was keen to enjoy the summer with his loved ones before determining his future. 'I'll think about what I'm going to do later,' Enciso said at the time. 'I don't know yet what I will do. 'I want to enjoy time with my family and then I'll think about what I'm going to do.'
