‘I love it' – Luke Littler, 18, reacts to Dennis Priestley spat and admits ‘people think I'm actually biting'
Two-times world champion Priestley claimed Littler and Luke Humphries 'let their country down' following their exit from the PDC World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt.

'The Menace' also said that neither player had 'done enough to earn their MBEs just yet'.
Teen sensational Littler screenshotted an article that contained the quotes and captioned it with his response.
He said: 'Don't deserve an MBE but done more in 12 months than he ever did…That's what I would say anyway.'
Littler, 18, insists his cheeky jab at Priestley was all in good fun.
He revealed: 'People probably see it as like, I'm actually biting, but I just look at it as a bit of banter.
'I love it. If I see something, then I will just comment on it.'
The World No.2 admits his aim is to win a game at the World Matchplay after a first-round exit to Michael van Gerwen last year.
Warrington ace Littler takes on Ryan Searle at the Winter Gardens as he looks to build on a remarkable 2025 season that's already seen him lift the World Championship, UK Open, and Belgian Open titles.
He added: 'I'm looking forward to it and hopefully I can get my first win there. It was obviously a whole new experience.
'Obviously I've been there as a fan two or three years ago watching and supporting Nathan Aspinall.
Luke Littler and Luke Humphries BOOED by German crowd on day they got their MBEs but fans love their 's---house' walk-on
'But the occasion, obviously how warm it is, it's like that near enough every year.
'So that's something you've got to get really used to.
'And obviously the opposition was Michael on debut, which was unfortunate.
'But hopefully I can, like I said, get a win.'

They showed their quality all last season and today. They have only been back a week and they were really rusty today. They started to creep into the game and then took control of possession and once they scored that first goal we called it. PSG stepped up another gear. They were 2-0 up with five minutes to go. You can see now the players are stood on the pitch separately in little huddles and on their own. They are absolutely devastated. They got the trophy that they had been longing for last season and this could have been a real step forward for Tottenham. Instead it's a real blow. Chevalier is a terrific young goalkeeper but he's not totally proven at the very highest level yet. He made the mistake for the second goal and you saw him celebrate wildly when Gonzalo Ramos scored the equaliser. He pulled off one very important save in the shootout and that ultimately proved enough, with Mathys Tel also missing his. We did so well though that you have to take positives. We could have been thrashed like some teams were by PSG, but what a fight we made. Have to be good at something to get PSG to penalties in a Super Cup final! For any team it should be a weapon in my opinion. We will definitely be focusing on it because I think it is a key area. At times I think we showed that we can play up against any team in the world. That is a positive I will take away from this." On further transfer business: "We'd like to strengthen the squad. No doubt about that. We do work very hard to see if we can do that. In general I am very happy with the squad but in any transfer window we try to see if we can make the squad stronger before the window closes." On facing Burnley in the Premier League opener on Saturday: "It is a short turnaround, there will be disappointment in the next 24 hours and when I wake up tomorrow, but tomorrow afternoon we will be ready, and Friday we will be more ready. And we will make sure we come flying out on Saturday." We had them exactly where we wanted them for 80-something minutes until the 2-1 goal, then of course the momentum shifted a little bit. "The team, the players, the club, the fans, there is a lot to be happy with. It is a flip of the coin when you go to a penalty shootout. "We showed that we can be adaptable and pragmatic, and we needed to be against a team like PSG. The way we wanted to defend, high pressure and low defending, was top, almost perfect, and also the set pieces were very good and dangerous." Frank seems to have made them more robust and difficult to play against. The Spursy tag will be hard to shake off with performances like this after 80 minutes, but they gave PSG a decent game which many said was impossible before kick off. Dave, Morecambe

Rory McIlroy shoots down offer to be player-captain at 2027 Ryder Cup
As golf waits to see if Keegan Bradley will become the first Ryder Cup player-captain for 62 years, Rory McIlroy has shot down the suggestion that he could take on the dual role for Europe because 'I don't think you can do it'. Last summer McIlroy said he had 'contemplated' a suggestion that he could be player-captain at Adare Manor in 2027 but, speaking before the second leg of the FedEx Cup play-offs, the Northern Irishman said: 'I have been asked to do that and I've turned it down. The idea of me being a playing captain sometime soon has come up and I've shot it down straight away. 'You think about the extra media the captains have to do, the extra meetings with the vice-captains, with the PGA of America in Keegan's case, preparing your speech for the opening ceremony — there's a lot of things that people don't see which the captain does the week of the Ryder Cup, especially now it has become so big. 'If you'd said it 20 years ago I'd say, yeah, it was probably possible, but [with] how big of a spectacle and everything that's on the line now, I just think it would be a very difficult position to be in.' Bradley will know his six automatic qualifiers for the US team for next month's Ryder Cup at Bethpage after this week's BMW Championship in Maryland, and speculation is intensifying about whether he will then include himself as one of his six captain's picks. Bradley says he is leaning heavily on his vice-captains, and Jim Furyk will step up if the captain is playing on the course, but McIlroy suggested Bradley would also have to limit his appearances. 'The captain isn't going to be on the course all day, so really he's only going to be able to play one session on Friday and one on Saturday,' he said. 'Would you rather have the flexibility to go twice if he's playing well? Look, it's just my opinion.' McIlroy added that Bradley was one of the top dozen players in the United States — he is ranked tenth in the Ryder Cup points list and needs to retain the BMW title at Caves Valley to climb into a top-six berth. 'That's why everyone is so interested and it's such a compelling case.' Enter Bradley, who has actually had four middling tournaments since the win at the Travelers Championship in June. 'We're ready for this if it happens,' he said of taking on both jobs. 'I'm not sure it's going to. I can truly sit here and say I don't know what's going to happen.' When McIlroy's doubts were relayed to him, Bradley added: 'He may be right. We don't know. No one knows. Everybody was telling me at the start of the year why a guy can't be captain and have a good year [but] for me, I feel like this is one of the best years I've ever had.' Justin Rose, the winner on Sunday in Memphis and potentially Luke Donald's successor as Europe's captain, also added his thoughts. The 45-year-old, who has now guaranteed his place in Europe's automatic spots, said Bradley's form had created the dilemma. Rose said: 'If he feels he's an absolute strategic brilliant mind then maybe he's focused one way. Or he thinks, 'Damn, I'm playing well and I need to win points, I'm going to do it that way.' He's obviously a charismatic and fiery competitor, and I think [he] will become a great captain. He's almost played too well for his own liking in a sense.' Scottie Scheffler, the world No1, then added the American take and did not mince words. 'We have a really good group of guys and Keegan can only help that. If it's something Keegan wants [to play] I think he's a guy we'd all love to have on the team.' More Ryder Cup questions then strained his patience. 'The Ryder Cup is over a month away,' he said. 'If you want to talk about this week let's talk about this week. If not, I've got practice to do.'
