Netflix's Poop Cruise chef disgusts viewers with worst phrase ever to describe carnage on board

Daily Mail28-06-2025
Viewers of Netflix 's 'Poop Cruise' reacted with horror as a chef onboard the stranded ship described the clogged toilets on the doomed liner.
The revolting documentary had audiences hooked as it covered the disastrous February 2013 voyage of the Carnival Triumph, which experienced an electrical fire on day four that knocked out all power, leading to the vessel being stuck out at sea for five days.
What was supposed to be a pleasant four-day trip throughout the Gulf of Mexico quickly turned into a nightmare as the ship was plunged into darkness and toilets and air conditioning stopped working.
The crew begged all 4,000 passengers to use red biohazard bags when they had to go number two and pee in the showers so the urine would drain away, but as multiple witnesses attested, many just continued to defecate down unflushable toilets.
Fittingly, Abhi, a chef unlucky enough to be working on the Triumph, used a food analogy to paint a picture of what the toilets looked like.
'People were pooping on top of toilet paper, then pooping on top of that. It was layer after layer after layer. It was like a lasagna,' he said.
At the end of the documentary, Abhi said he's 'never looked at lasagna the same way'.
It's safe to say that Abhi's dreadfully vivid description has turned others off from the classic Italian dish as well.
Most people were repulsed by the chef's unfortunately vivid description of the bathrooms
'Thanks for ruining lasagna for me, @netflix,' one person wrote on X.
'My friend was like 'tell me when you get to the lasagna part' and I didn't know what she meant but now I do,' another said.
Others could not hold back their revulsion, with one woman writing: 'I'm finna throw up. This man said it was so much s**t and toilet paper in the damn toilets it was like a lasagna.'
Others still found Abhi's description hilarious, even impressive.
'The chef has stolen the show,' one wrote, while another said, '2025 has a new Goat [Greatest of All Time].'
The documentary was released on Tuesday as an episode in the running Netflix series 'Trainwreck,' which has looked at several different disasters.
Past episodes covered the crowd crush at Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival and Woodstock '99, a music festival in upstate New York tainted by sexual violence and inadequate sanitation.
Viewers of the 'Poop Cruise' episode were particularly horrified at how quickly social order broke down once it became clear the ship wasn't going anywhere.
Passengers on the ship told the show that people were hurling bags of feces, having sex out on the pool deck, and hoarding food once supplies began to run low.
Makeshift tent cities sprang up because there was no air conditioning in the ship. People dragged their mattresses out to the top and used their sheets to create shade for themselves. This mad dash led to fights over space on the deck.
'Watching the 'poop cruise' documentary makes me realize how much I don't like people,' one person wrote.
Viewers were also irked by the 'privileged' behavior of some passengers.
A trio of women on a bachelorette party for their friend, Ashley, drew the wrath of many of those watching as they seemed more interested in getting drunk and continuing their celebrations even as anarchy washed over the entire ship.
'(They) HAVE to know how absolutely annoying and obnoxious they look in this documentary. Don't care about anything else besides getting a Margarita,' one person wrote. 'Tweedle dee. Tweedle dumb. And tweedle dumber.'
One person compared the frenzied actions of the passengers to how Fyre Festival attendees responded when they found out the event was a complete fraud.
'I'm a bit embarrassed to say I enjoyed the same righteous indignation watching the #poopcruise as I did watching the #FyreFestival debacle,' someone said. 'Watching entitled, not-too-smart people go off the rails when there is no danger, but merely discomfort, is a #guiltypleasure.'
Toilets onboard the ship began to fill up with feces as sewage spilled into rooms and hallways. Sheets tried to soak it up
When it came to the crew's request for people to poop in bags, viewers were outraged that some passengers felt they were above doing that, which included Devin Marble (pictured)
People reacted with frustration at the perceived privilege of many of the passengers interviewed for the documentary
When it came to the crew's request for people to poop in bags, viewers were outraged that some passengers felt they were above doing that.
This, of course, led to toilets overflowing onto the decks and creating a stench so horrific that people reported being unable to stand being in the interior of the ship.
Devin Marble, who was on the ship with his newly-minted fiancé and his soon-to-be-in-laws, was one passenger who absolutely refused to use the bags provided.
He instead found a lone bathroom that was able to flush when the ship tilted.
'This carnival poop cruise documentary is mostly a display of how f***ing privileged most people are. "I'm not pooping in a baaaag." I hate these people,' one person wrote.
'Watched the poop cruise doco on Netflix and they're all the most obnoxious annoying people you could possibly imagine,' another person wrote. 'Stoked they all got stuck on a s**t boat s****ing in bags and covered in s**t. Insufferable humans.'
'Omg these 'poop cruise' people y'all are the most spoiled people I have ever met acting like being stranded for 4 days was the end of the world knowing u would be saved eventually,' a third person said.
Passengers made help signs, drew on robes and bedsheets to document the disaster.
Food started to run out onboard and people were left eating grim-looking meals like this bread with mustard and slivers of ham
Help finally arrived for them on Valentine's Day - February 14, 2013. Tug boats ushered the floundering ship for the Gulf to a nearby port in Mobile, Alabama, miles away from the cruise's original docking point.
In a statement to Daily Mail Carnival said: 'The Carnival Triumph incident over 12 years ago was a teachable moment for the entire cruise industry.
'A thorough investigation following the incident revealed a design vulnerability which was corrected and led Carnival Cruise Line to invest more than $500 million across our entire fleet in comprehensive fire prevention and suppression, improved redundancy, and enhanced management systems, all in support of our commitment to robust safety standards.
'This is in addition to our vigorous Health, Environmental, Safety and Security (HESS) protocols that guide the entire Carnival Corporation fleet as we maintain our commitment to industry leadership in this area.
'We are proud of the fact that since 2013 over 53 million guests have enjoyed safe and memorable vacations with us, and we will continue to operate to these high standards.
'Carnival Triumph, like two other ships in the same class, was renamed after a $200 million bow-to-stern transformation.

Joe Giudice reveals 'ridiculous' salary ex-wife Teresa made during first season of Real Housewives of New Jersey

Joe Giudice has revealed how much his ex-wife Teresa Giudice was paid to appear as a cast member on Real Housewives of New Jersey season one. The 53-year-old father-of-four was a guest on the latest episode of daughter Gia Giudice 's podcast Casual Chaos, where he opened up about his time on the Bravo reality TV show. Joe — who is vying for a pardon from President Donald Trump — shared that his then-wife earned a measly $25,000 when the show premiered in 2009. 'We got paid nothing the first season. I'll even say... it was like $25,000. I mean, it was ridiculous, but whatever,' the former TV star said. The contractor added that the couple actually spent more money than they made as they hosted lavish soirees while on camera. 'I think the first year, we had that big party in my great room,' he recalled. 'I think that show cost me $150,000 the first year.' The father-of-four was a guest on the latest episode of daughter Gia Giudice's (second from left) podcast Casual Chaos, where he opened up about his time on the Bravo reality TV show During their conversation Gia conveyed that Housewives typically 'don't get paid that much money' during inaugural seasons. She noted that the salary 'grows as the seasons go on.' Gia, who now stars on the network's Next Gen NYC spinoff show, added: 'When you're throwing parties and stuff like that, especially for the first season, you're putting in more money than you're actually getting out of it. She clarified, 'So then obviously, you grow and make your way and make your name. But for the first season when you're obviously trying to... this wasn't anything out of the norm.' And the reality television personality said that, while they were together, her parents 'loved' to host parties. 'I didn't care,' Joe agreed. 'I mean, every weekend, I had people at my house.' Joe also unpacked a regrettable moment that aired during his stint on the TV show, alluding to the time he was filmed calling Teresa a 'b*tch' and 'c**t.' 'The one up where we were at the vignette or something. I called your mother something. I know it wasn't very nice,' he acknowledged. 'That was just out of pure, you know, drinking wine and enough was enough.' The Italian-bred star emphasized, 'I don't even use that word. I hate that word. Why it came out of my mouth, I have no idea.' Exes Joe and Teresa share Gia, 24, Gabriella, 20, Milania, 19, and Audriana, 16 in September. They former spouses each served time behind bars for financial fraud. Following his completed prison sentence in 2019, Joe was deported to Italy. That same year the couple announced their separation. And they finalized their divorce in September 2020. Teresa found love again with Luis 'Louie' Ruelas, whom she wed in 2022. During the Casual Chaos episode featuring her father, Gia asked if there was any chance of a rekindling between her parents if her mom and stepdad were ever to split up.

Quentin Tarantino weighs in on one of cinema's big questions: what is the best Tarantino movie?

It's one of cinema's most contested subjects: which Quentin Tarantino movie is the best? The director himself has finally weighed in – while also sharing his personal favourite and which of his films he was 'born to make'. Speaking on The Church of Tarantino podcast, the 62-year-old film-maker said his 2009 second world war drama Inglourious Basterds was the best of his nine films, while his 2019 movie Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood was his favourite. 'But I think Kill Bill is the ultimate Quentin movie, like nobody else could've made it,' he added, of his two-part martial arts thriller. 'Every aspect about it is so particularly ripped, like with tentacles and bloody tissue, from my imagination and my id and my loves and my passion and my obsession. 'So I think Kill Bill is the movie I was born to make, I think Inglourious Basterds is my masterpiece but Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood is my favourite.' Tarantino is famed for writing and directing all of his films since his 1992 debut Reservoir Dogs. When the conversation turned to screenplays, Tarantino said: 'I think Inglourious Basterds is my best script, and I think Hateful Eight and Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood are right behind. 'But, there's an aspect of Hateful Eight that I actually think is probably my best directing of my material, ie, the material is written and it's solid,' he added. 'So it's not like I have to create it, like Kill Bill – it's solid, it's right there and I actually think it's my best servicing [of] my material as a director.' Tarantino has chosen not to direct his sequel to Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood, which follows the fading actor Rick, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, and his stuntman, Cliff, played by Brad Pitt, in 1969 Los Angeles. Instead he handed the reins to David Fincher, who will direct The Adventures of Cliff Booth for Netflix. Tarantino remains the writer and producer. 'I think me and David Fincher are the two best directors,' Tarantino said. 'So the idea that David Fincher actually wants to adapt my work, to me, shows a level of seriousness towards my work that I think needs to be taken into account.' Tarantino revealed he is working on a play which will open in the West End of London in 2026 before returning to work on his final film. He remains committed to retiring after his 10th film, having previously said: 'Most directors have horrible last movies.' On the podcast he said he had passed on directing The Adventures of Cliff Booth because he felt 'unenthused' about his final film being a sequel. He has only directed one sequel – Kill Bill: Volume 2 – though he considers both parts of Kill Bill to be a single film. 'I love this script but I'm still walking down the same ground I've already walked,' Tarantino said of The Adventures of Cliff Booth. 'It just kind of unenthused me. This last movie, I've got to not know what I'm doing again. I've got to be in uncharted territory.' Tarantino's final film was long rumoured to be The Movie Critic, which was to star Pitt and follow a cynical film critic working in California in 1977. But in 2024 Tarantino abandoned his plans for the film, confirming on The Church of Tarantino podcast that he had scrapped The Movie Critic because he believed it was too similar to his past work. 'I wasn't really excited about dramatising what I wrote when I was in pre-production, partly because I'm using the skill set that I learned from Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood – 'How are we going to turn Los Angeles into the Hollywood of 1969 without using CGI?'' he said. 'It was something we had to pull off. We had to achieve it. It wasn't for sure that we could do it … The Movie Critic, there was nothing to figure out. I already kind of knew, more or less, how to turn LA into an older time. It was too much like the last one.'

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague trade blows in first episode of BBC documentary - as she accuses him of 'dressing like a girl' and he claims she's 'not the brightest' before revealing the REAL reason they split

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague traded light-hearted blows as they gave fans an insight into the wake of their split in the first episode of the boxer's new documentary, Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury. The BBC Three series documents Tommy's battle with alcohol, as he reveals how it caused him to neglect his responsibilities as a father and partner and ultimately causing his relationship to fall apart. And in the opening episode, filmed while the couple were still broken up, the pair appeared to still be civil for the sake of two-year-old daughter Bambi as they made a series of playful jibes aimed at one another, with Molly taking a swipe at his fashion sense while Tommy questioned her intelligence. Meanwhile, Tommy, opened up on the real reason behind the couple's split, categorically denying that cheating had anything to do with their relationship falling apart. The boxer and the influencer, both 26, shocked fans when they announced their split last August, after welcoming daughter Bambi and getting engaged the year prior - though they have since rekindled their romance. After the split, Molly and Bambi proceeded to move out of the sprawling Cheshire mansion the family shared leaving Tommy alone and the episode shows Tommy Facetiming little Bambi and Molly as he eats breakfast amid his new single life. Meanwhile, Tommy, opened up on the real reason behind the couple's split, categorically denying that cheating had anything to do with their relationship falling apart [Tommy and Molly pictured in June 2024] And despite them no longer being together at the time, Molly couldn't help but comment on Tommy's choice of clothing, asking of his grey zip-up sweater: 'You're not going to wear that jumper while you're filming are you? It isn't good!' Looking down at his top, Tommy responded: 'Why are you throwing insults at 8.30 in the morning? About my jumper!' Molly, who has her own clothing brand Maebe, then went on to make a comment on the zip detail of his top, noting that it's 'quite girly', adding: 'that's on a lot of girls' stuff'. However, seemingly over Molly's jibes, Tommy simply responds: 'Alright' before giving a deep sigh. Another look at the pair's post-split dynamic comes later in the documentary as Tommy reflects on the love and pride he has for daughter Bambi, before making a cheeky dig at Molly's intelligence. He said: 'I couldn't be more proud of her. She's stunning, she's clever... I don't know where she got the clever from because me and her mother aren't the brightest of bunches!' Smirking to the camera, he then backtracks saying: 'I'll speak for myself actually, Molly will probably have a dig at me for that!' Last year, Tommy had surgery after secretly battling with a hand injury for some time, preventing him from getting back in the ring, which he said led to him getting 'black-out drunk' most nights. Another look at the pair's post-split dynamic comes later in the documentary as Tommy reflects on the love and pride he has for daughter Bambi, before making a cheeky dig at Molly's intelligence In the debut episode, he can be seen opening up about his alcohol issues and how it affected his relationship with Molly, with Tommy confirming that his battle with drink was the reason they broke up. As he reflected on the time of the split in which rumours swirled that he had cheated and even got another girl pregnant, Tommy insisted: 'The reason for the end of our relationship was alcohol.' He then spoke about his injury to his right hand and the effect it had on him as he remarked: 'I couldn't train, box, lift weights, that was all gone... I lost my whole identity, lost my whole life.' Tommy added: 'I was drinking a lot. You don't realise yourself at that point but other people around you do.' His dad and trainer John Fury then featured as told how he recognised the signs following older son Tyson's battle with booze, noting how he advised Molly-Mae that she was best off 'walking away' from Tommy Detailing how bad his drinking got, Tommy admitted: 'I hold my hands up, drink got hold of me. 20 shots a night, 20 beers, everyday I'd have a drink and I used to drink till I got blackout drunk.' He then candidly confessed he didn't think that Molly would leave him. Tommy went on to say that in their daughter's eyes, they were 'still a family' and nothing has changed for the tot, before noting that she's his biggest achievement and would die for her. In an interview with The Mirror earlier this month, Tommy described how he spent a lot of time alone 'sitting in a big dark room' after the break-up. He said: 'That's what I was doing most days. When you're in a big house all by yourself, you think about a lot of things, and you wish you could never go down that road, but it's happened.' The docuseries will see the father-of-one recalling how his booze issues began, detailing: 'I had enough drink to last me a lifetime in 2024. Last year, he had surgery after secretly battling with a hand injury for some time, preventing him from getting back in the ring, which he said led to him getting 'black-out drunk' most nights 'Suddenly, one day, you find that all you can do is sit down and then a few of them [drinks], it takes the pain away. You forget where you are, you forget what's going on. And sometimes you want that feeling all the time, and that's where obviously it starts.' Tommy went on: 'Now, when I look at that person from back then, I don't even recognise that guy. It's just not me. Back then, I didn't really care about anything. It was like the world going by, wasn't bothered, and that's just not me.' While he says he's not completely sworn off alcohol forever, the brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, insists he now barely drinks and will save booze for special occasions. He explained: 'Going forward, if it's a wedding or something like that, I might have a couple of drinks. Four or five times a week is something nobody should be doing.' Tommy and Molly-Mae met on the fifth series of Love Island back in 2019, going on to welcome Bambi into the world in January 2023 and then getting engaged later that year. However they shocked fans when they announced that they had gone their separate ways in August 2024. The internet was abuzz with speculation and theories over what had happened to cause their split, but it was not until January that Tommy revealed it was due to his dependency on alcohol. In May, he admitted '2024 was the worst year of my life' and described how he spent 'a long time on a dark path' in an unflinching Good Morning Britain interview. He explained: 'Ever since I've been small from 5,6,7,8, all I've ever done is boxed, I've never had another job outside of boxing. I've always thought, breathed and done everything boxing. 'When you do that for such a long time and then all of a sudden you're sat in a hospital bed and you're thinking to the future of a year down the line. 'You're thinking to yourself, "I've never done anything else other than box, what am I going to do to pass the time? How am I going to get through this?" You fall into a dark place. 'Being in a position where boxing is everything, the fact I couldn't do that and get out of bed in the morning and do what I wanted to do to make me happy, I just thought s*** it all. 'You go down that dark route and you go down there for a few weeks and you end up staying there for a very long time and that has consequences.' Tommy admitted: '2024 was the worst year of my life and this year's going to be the best year of my life, it starts on Friday, I've turned it all around. 'I'm happy mentally now, I've got to go through these challenges in life. Everyone's got a hard life. 'I've come through this, I'm on the other side and I'm back doing what I do best.'
