Iowa women's basketball doles out first college offer to 2030 recruit
Iowa women's basketball is the first program to offer class of 2030 guard Claire Stoops.
Stoops is just getting set to enter eighth grade, but the youngster from Indiana already has serious game. A member of Indiana Basketball Club 15U 3SSB, Stoops recently dropped 25 points in a 15U matchup.
Stoops' ball handling, her ability to create off the bounce and her perimeter shooting already look advanced at such a young age.
The class of 2030 point guard caught the attention of 247Sports scout Brandon Clay recently with her willingness to be a student of the game. Stoops spent part of her spring watching another pair of elite Hawkeye guard offers in Kate Harpring and Kaleena Smith in the 2026 and 2027 classes, respectively.
Here's a look at some of Stoops' recent highlights with Indiana Basketball Club 15U 3SSB.

Badgers Battling SEC for 3-Star Safety Jowell Combay
Badgers Battling SEC for 3-Star Safety Jowell Combay originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Wisconsin football team has been making a concerted effort lately to add to its secondary. The Badgers already have a commitment from 3-star cornerback Carsen Eloms and are trending to earn a commitment from Texas native Zachary Taylor, but they are looking to add more. Advertisement One of the prospects the Badgers are eyeing is 3-star safety Jowell Combay, a safety out of Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia. According to Nick Osen, a Badgers beat writer for 247Sports, the 6'1" safety will be in Madison June 12-14 on an official visit with the Wisconsin football team. Recently, Combay released his final five teams and a commitment date of July 9th. The Badgers made the final cut along with four SEC teams: Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, and Missouri. According to the 247Sports recruiting database, Combay is a 3-star prospect and holds offers from over 30 Division I teams, including offers from the previously mentioned top five, as well as teams like Alabama, Arizona State, Auburn, Florida, among many more. Advertisement Currently, there are no Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports for the Georgia safety, but the On3 prediction machine gives Tennessee a 28% chance to land Jombay. Wisconsin is fourth at 13.2% behind the Volunteers, South Carolina (18.5%), and Missouri (15.9%). The 247Sports Composite has Combay listed as the 605th-overall prospect in the country and the 47th safety in the 2026 class. Auburn football 2025 snapshot profile: Alex McPherson
Auburn football 2025 snapshot profile: Alex McPherson Alex McPherson is ready to return to action this season after experiencing a setback in 2024. The 2025 season is expected to be an exciting one for the Auburn Tigers. As we anticipate the start of the season, lets introduce you to a key member of the 2025 roster. Alex McPherson has been a solid special teams player since arriving on campus in 2022. However, he suffered a setback that severely limited his talents last season. McPherson battled through a gastrointestinal illness, which forced him to miss all but one game in 2024. Despite the roadblock, McPherson continued to regain strength during spring practice and is now cleared to return to action as Auburn's starting placekicker for the 2025 season. "Just being around the guys has been a blast, and just getting back for spring practice. All that hard work and time we spent trying to figure everything out... now it is finally paying off," McPherson said during the spring practice period. "Getting to see the fruit from everything that we have been going through... it is awesome to finally get back out there." McPherson's return should boost Auburn's field goal game this season. The 2024 Tigers connected on just 12-of-22 field goal attempts last season, which is a far cry from McPherson's 90% success rate. Before the season starts, here is a look at McPherson's player profile. Ohio State football receives pledge from 2026 four-star edge rusher
Ohio State football receives pledge from 2026 four-star edge rusher Coming out of a big recruiting event last weekend, the Ohio State football team has a little momentum. The Buckeyes first received a pledge from 4-star in-state running back Favour Akih, and just on the heels of that news, OSU now has a commitment from 4-star defensive end Khary Wilder. Out of Gardena, California, Wilder is ranked as the No. 242 player and 32nd-ranked edge rusher in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He chose Ohio State over Notre Dame, Alabama, UCLA, and Washington. He is the first defensive lineman in the class to commit to the Buckeyes. With the news, OSU's 2026 class has now grown to 15 total commitments and has jumped up to the No. 2 class in the country according to 247Sports. The Buckeyes still have plenty of room in the class it is putting together, and Larry Johnson would love to add more to the defensive line. We'll continue to cover all things Ohio State recruiting and bring you any noteworthy news as we continue to tread towards the Early Signing Period that begins in December.
