'We don't want Royal AM': Supporters of MaMkhize's new club
Last week, the businesswoman was announced as president of the eSwatini club. She has since called for 'unity' among fans and expressed her desire for the club to relive its 'glory days.'
This news comes months after SARS seized her South African team, Royal AM, to pay off her R40 million debt.
The club was later expelled from the PSL.
During her first address as Mbabalane Highlanders AM FC on Sunday, 20 July, the club revealed that MaMkhize had 'called for unity and urged all stakeholders to play their part in restoring the club to its former glory'.
It added: 'She emphasized the importance of protecting the club's image, encouraging everyone to refrain from public commentary that could hinder efforts to build a strong and respected brand'.
'Most significantly, she pledged her full commitment to making Mbabane Highlanders AM the leading football club in the country—on and off the pitch'.
Last week, the eSwatini club confirmed that MaMkhize had signed a three-year presidency deal as the club's president.
In a video clip, MaMkhize revealed that she had added a 'touch of gold' and her signature 'AM', and that players of the eSwatini club would now wear black and gold.

Although many Mbabane Highlanders AM FC fans have vowed to support MaMkhize as president of the club, others are wary and even concerned about her involvement.
On its official Facebook account, many have rejected the new leadership and its link to the now-defunct SA club.

OPINION: Winning teams bring cheer to South Africa
From Banyana to the Boks to the U20 rugby stars, there was plenty to cheer this last weekend. But today we can all be proudly South African and celebrate a great sporting weekend. And we're not quite done yet either because there's some way to go for the Proteas, who're playing in a tri-series tournament in Zimbabwe, while Banyana Banyana are still in the running to defend their Wafcon title, so there could be more celebrations to come. But for now, let's celebrate Banyana, who have qualified for the Wafcon semifinals after beating Senegal 4-1 on penalties on Saturday night in Morocco. They next face Nigeria on Tuesday. Before Andile Dlamini's shot-stopping heroics, our rugby teams got the SA flag flying high with the reigning world champions, the Springboks, and the Junior Boks winning important matches. Future stars Siya Kolisi, back after a lengthy injury break, led the Boks to a big 55-10 win against Georgia in Mbombela; the side wrapping up their mid-year Tests unbeaten. They will next turn their attention to the Rugby Championship and bigger challenges, but things are looking good for Rassie Erasmus and his charges. And then it was the turn of Riley Norton and his powerful Junior Boks team to beat their New Zealand counterparts in the final of the U20 Championship, to lift the title for the first time in 13 years. What a performance that was by our young players and future Bok stars. Just like the senior Boks, who didn't lose a game in the last four weeks, Norton's team went unbeaten through the tournament in Italy, to be crowned junior champions of the world. We cannot wait to see how these young stars of the future develop and progress in their careers. All of these achievements and wins come not long after Temba Bavuma's Test Proteas won the championship final in London, beating Australia inside four days. It's good being a South African sports fan right now, so let's all enjoy it.

Springboks to cut squad as plans change
Over the first three Tests of the year – and the warm-up game against the Barbarians – Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus has mixed and matched with selections, while using around 45 players. In fact, in the three matches since the opener against the invitational team in Cape Town, the Springbok coaches made 10, 15 and 16 personnel changes in successive weeks. Last week, some players who weren't used against Georgia were already given some time 'off', and there will be a bit of a break for most players before the Springboks begin preparations for their Rugby Championship opener on 16 August at Ellis Park when they meet Australia. This week, though, Rassie Erasmus is set to confirmed a more settled 36-man squad. 'We'll name 36 guys on Tuesday for the Australia series and within that squad there'll be one or two guys that we experiment with, but the bulk of that squad will be experienced players who are suited to the way we want to play,' he said. 'The nice thing is that we've got a group of 48 players or so that we've used this year and there's quite a couple that we'd also like to give opportunities to like Jaden (Hendrikse), Jordan (Hendrikse), Quan Horn, Renzo (du Plessis). 'But this was a series where we wanted to experiment a little bit so getting the scorelines we did is pretty satisfying. But the Rugby Championship is definitely a step up.' The Springboks now have a three-week break before the opening Test in the Rugby Championship, with Erasmus indicating selection would be more consistent. 'We're fairly happy if you look over the four games (to start the season),' said Erasmus. 'We scored close to 50 points in each match and apart from the first Italy test defended pretty well. 'Georgia were physical and disruptive but that's not an excuse for us making so many errors, but I guess we must understand that if we chop and change teams like we have as we're building squad depth, you'll lose rhythm. 'We found that again in the last 20 minutes and we can be fairly happy with the scoreline although one can always do better.'
