Missing Beloit woman found, family reports
BELOIT, Wis. (WTVO) — Rebecca Osmond (47) has been missing since February 22, but her family reported on Sunday that she has been found alive.
Osmond last spoke on a Facetime call to her son February 22. Her mother said her phone was off after that.
The family told police they believed she arrived in Tampa, Florida via an Amtrak train on February 24th.
The family held a candlelight vigil for Osmond Sunday afternoon, and five minutes before it was scheduled to start, Osmond's sister said she got a phone call from police confirming Osmond's location.
'I am so in shock right now,' Osmond's sister Stacy Rebhahn said. 'There's a lot of emotions going through me right now. I'm so thankful that everybody came through and helped get her name out there, even though she's going to be very, very angry at how far this has gone. It'll teach a lesson that you need to tell people what's going on with you because it doesn't just affect you.'
Rebhahn said the Beloit Police Department told her there was an issue in the spelling of Osmond's name that led to the investigation delay.

Rochelle man's father seeks answers in son's mysterious death
ROCHELLE, Ill. (WTVO) — The father of a Rochelle man, who traveled to Georgia for work and was in Alabama, is still hoping to find answers in his son's death. John Combs was a 24-year-old lineman who traveled to Savannah, Georgia last October to work in an area struck by Hurricane Helene. Combs had planned to return home to Rochelle on October 4th. However, he was found dead on train tracks in Montgomery, Alabama, later that day. Police said he had been hit by a train. His death was ruled a suicide by local police. His father, Chris Combs, says he has struggled to get any more information to make sense of his son's passing. 'I've got an official letter from OSHA. I will say that I got a letter from [U.S. Representative] Darin LaHood's office. I got the death certificate. And that's pretty much it,' Chris said. According to Chris, John was hospitalized on October 2nd and had been acting erratically in the time leading up to his death. According to WICS, a witness who was on the same flight as Combs recalled that he stood up and said, 'My name is John Combs from Rochelle, Illinois. My whole life has been a lie. I'm no good at anything I do. I don't want to be a lineman anymore.' Chris said he doesn't know why John would travel 161 miles to Montgomery. 'I got Southwest Airlines telling me that without a subpoena, we're not going to tell you anything that happened to him in Atlanta. I've got the Atlanta Police Department telling me that we're not going to give you anything. I got Montgomery Police Department telling me we're not going to give you anything,' he said. Montgomery Police, who handled the investigation, did not immediately respond to our request for comment. 'I guess [I want to know], how can you come to that [determination of suicide]? Show me your evidence that concludes to that. Like I said, [police] told me it looks like we're probably going to rule as, not we are,' he recalled. Rescuers rush to scene of serious crash at downtown Rockford intersection
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police are investigating a serious crash near a downtown intersection on Wednesday. First responders were called to Kishwaukee Street and 1st Avenue at 3:29 p.m. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which resulted in an SUV rolling over onto its roof. Seminole County man arrested for threatening ex-girlfriend with explosive device
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office arrested a Seminole County man on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, for planning to blow up his ex-girlfriend's car. On April 18, 2025, the SCSO Hazardous Devices Team responded to 1268 Wellington Terrace in Maitland about a suspicious item inside the residence. Detectives on the scene served the homeowner, 22-year-old Ian Rogers, with a Temporary Risk Protection Order and searched the residence. SCSO located the suspicious device, which was described as a black plastic container with orange wires wrapped around it and tape around the lid. During the investigation, deputies discovered Rogers had threatened to blow up his ex-girlfriend's car on FaceTime. Investigators met with the ex-girlfriend and were informed that she and Rogers dated for approximately a month. During the relationship, she realized he was becoming verbally and mentally abusive towards her, and she ended the relationship. Due to her ending the relationship, Rogers began harassing her and threatening to kill himself. Due to threatening his own life, she agreed to FaceTime Rogers. During the FaceTime, Rogers brandished an unknown container with a wire wrapped around it and threatened to blow up her car. On April 25, 2025, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Special Agent Bomb Technician started a month-long lab analysis of the suspicious device. Based on the ATF lab analysis, it was determined that Rogers made an explosive device capable of causing property damage, injury, and or death to persons nearby.
