#SHOWBIZ: Kenny Bee's daughter celebrates 21st birthday, wows netizens with stunning looks

HONG KONG: Veteran actor Kenny Bee recently celebrated his daughter Blythe's 21st birthday with an intimate dinner at her favourite restaurant.
On Aug 5, the 72-year-old shared on Weibo several photos from the evening – including two of his daughter beaming with joy in front of her birthday cake, and another capturing a tender moment of him happily embracing her.
"I took her to her favourite restaurant for dinner. One of her birthday gifts was her very first watch from her parents," he wrote in the caption.
Bee, a former member of the 1970s Hong Kong pop band The Wynners, also shared that his daughter's showbiz career is off to a promising start.
Blythe, who studied film in Britain, made her entertainment debut in 2024 on the Chinese singing reality show Ben Fu! Wan Ren Xian Chang.
"She's also embarking on a new academic journey. May she smoothly step into a joyful and abundant life ahead," he added.
Many netizens have left comments wishing Blythe a happy birthday, while others praised her beauty and how gracefully she has grown over the years.
"Blythe is so beautiful. Happy birthday," one netizen commented.
"It's wonderful to see her grow up surrounded by happiness and a loving family," said another.
"The father is so cool, and the daughter is so beautiful," wrote a third.
It's worth noting that Blythe has long shown a flair for the arts, having joined her father on stage since she was a child and even performing in national Chinese New Year television galas.
Bee has an older son Nicholas, 35, and a daughter Chloe, 30, from his previous marriage to actress Teresa Cheung, which ended in divorce in 1999.
He married his longtime girlfriend Fan Jiang in 2014 and welcomed two daughters with her – Blythe and Eloise, 15.

(Video) Gillian Chung Chows Down On Chicken Wings & Roti Tisu While In KL

International celebrities who visit Malaysia know that there's one thing everyone should do while in town: eat to your heart's content. While in Kuala Lumpur to film a show, Hong Kong star Gillian Chung (钟欣潼) made sure to try as much local food as possible before her trip ended. The singer recently shared a short vlog on her social media, documenting the last day of her recent visit to KL. According to reports, Gillian was in town to film for the upcoming Astro variety show, 'Beauty Fafa (营业吧!花花)'. Of course, while in Malaysia, the star couldn't help but check out the local food scene. In the video, Gillian and her staff members visited Alor Street and dined at a local Chinese restaurant. The star also revealed that she has dined at the restaurant many times, hinting that the food there is good. The next scene then shows a table full of dishes, including grilled stingray, satay, and grilled chicken wings. After inviting the crowd to dine in, Gillian then devoured the dishes without hesitation. While there were many food choices on the table, the singer said her favourite was the grilled chicken wings. However, Gillian's food diary didn't stop there. Upon returning to her hotel room, the star's staff members surprised her with a Roti Tisu tower that was half her height. While the 44-year-old was unsure at first, she grabbed a small piece for her first try of the iconic Malaysian dish. Immediately after tasting the Roti Tisu, Gillian's face lit up and she exclaimed, 'That tastes so good!'. She then went in for a second bite, showing her approval of the dish. In the comments, fans expressed glee over Gillian's food vlog, saying they enjoy seeing her eat with gusto. Some also cooed over her cute expressions while eating her chicken wings and trying the Roti Tisu. Fans also praised her beauty and youthful looks, noting that she looked like she could be in her twenties. At the same time, local fans also invited her to return to Malaysia more often to try other dishes. We also hope to see Gillian back in Malaysia soon. Maybe she can create a longer food vlog the next time she's in town. Boy wrecks home after not getting Labubu doll

Small doll, big damage: Images on social media showing glass shards in the Chinese influencer's home after a boy threw a remote control at the mirror-glass ceiling. — The Straits Times/ANN A boy threw a tantrum over a jewel-adorned Labubu doll, causing more than 400,000 yuan (RM235,620) in property damage at the Shanghai home of the toy's owner, a Chinese influencer. In a post on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu (RedNote), the influencer – Brother Tail – said the boy saw a Labubu doll adorned with expensive jewellery at his home, and demanded to have it. When told no, the boy had a meltdown. At one point, he grabbed a remote control and threw it towards the mirror-glass ceiling. It caused a portion of the ceiling to shatter, and an Italian crystal chandelier worth about 300,000 yuan (RM176,710) to fall. Brother Tail said the boy came to his home with a visiting kin. The incident happened on Aug 1, and Brother Tail said in his post he had since repaired the ceiling and chandelier, which cost roughly 400,000 yuan. He said the parents of the boy – who appeared to show no remorse – offered to 'sell everything they had', but could only cover just 20,000 yuan (RM11,780) of the total cost, adding that the family was 'too poor', and that he did not think suing them would help. The Chinese influencer said the boy's parents requested that he not post about the incident, saying it might 'affect the boy's mood'. 'It's unbelievable how elders like to use trivial family ties as emotional blackmail. They really have no sense of boundaries,' he complained in his post. Labubu is a quirky monster character created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung in 2015, and popularised through a collaboration with toy store Pop Mart. Pop Mart fuelled the Labubu trend via deft online marketing and by creating artificial scarcity through limited releases, 'secret' editions and ultra-rare colourways. Labubu's popularity reached stratospheric heights after celebrities like BlackPink's Lisa, Dua Lipa and Rihanna were seen on social media sporting the dolls as fashion accessories. Originally priced between US$20 (RM85) and US$40 (RM170), the dolls are now reselling for thousands of dollars. Some rare editions have been sold for over US$150,000 at auctions. The hype, scarcity and outrageous demand have led to fights, skirmishes and sheer retail chaos. — The Straits Times/ANN
