CBC26-05-2025

Police have confirmed the identity of a man whose remains were found on a rural Manitoba property last year and say they're investigating his death as a homicide.
The remains of Dimitar Rachev, 75, were found in the rural municipality of Rockwood on Nov. 21, 2024, Manitoba RCMP said in a news release on Monday.
Major crime services officers and a forensic anthropology team revisited the location on May 15 and did a secondary ground search.
Mounties say they want to speak with anyone who had contact with Rachev after Nov. 1, 2024.
RCMP also released two surveillance photos of a man who police believe may have information, and are asking for help finding him.
Anyone with information is asked to call Stonewall RCMP at 204-467-5591, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or by submitting a secure tip online at manitobacrimestoppers.com.

Call to police turns into impaired driving arrest: SPS

A dire warning that drinking and driving leads to arrest. Photo: OPP The Sarnia Police Service have arrested a driver for alleged impaired driving, thanks to a call from a citizen. On Saturday just before 8 p.m., police received the report of a potential impaired driver. Police said a woman was out of her vehicle, acting erratically on Russell Street. The vehicle didn't appear to be moving, according to a news release, so neighbours tried to move it for her, but said the driver appeared intoxicated. Police arrived and said the suspect was showing signs of alcohol intoxication, trying to get back into the vehicle. Officers arrested the driver and towed the car. After two breath samples, the SPS said the driver was more than twice the legal limit. A 38-year-old woman of Sarnia has been charged with impaired driving and impaired driving over .08. The SPS encourages everyone to call and report suspected impaired drivers to 911.
