The Sarnia Police Service have arrested a driver for alleged impaired driving, thanks to a call from a citizen.
On Saturday just before 8 p.m., police received the report of a potential impaired driver. Police said a woman was out of her vehicle, acting erratically on Russell Street.
The vehicle didn't appear to be moving, according to a news release, so neighbours tried to move it for her, but said the driver appeared intoxicated.
Police arrived and said the suspect was showing signs of alcohol intoxication, trying to get back into the vehicle.
Officers arrested the driver and towed the car. After two breath samples, the SPS said the driver was more than twice the legal limit.
A 38-year-old woman of Sarnia has been charged with impaired driving and impaired driving over .08.
The SPS encourages everyone to call and report suspected impaired drivers to 911.

Driver crashes into Boucherville home before fleeing on foot

A driver crashes into a house in Boucherville on Montreal's South Shore before fleeing on foot. (SPAL/Facebook) Police on Montreal's South Shore are searching for a driver who crashed into a house in Boucherville before fleeing on foot. Longueuil police (SPAL) received a 911 call at 10:10 p.m. Sunday about the collision at a home on Marie-Victorin Boulevard. When officers arrived on site, they located an overturned vehicle and found damage to the property and home. 'Everything suggests that speed and alcohol were factors, but the investigation will determine the exact cause of the collision,' said Mélanie Mercille, a spokesperson with Longueuil police. The force says no one in the home was injured. The driver, who fled on foot on Marie-Victorin Boulevard, is believed to be in his 30s. 'Officers are searching for the man so they can arrest him,' confirmed Mercille. A security perimeter has been set up in the area.
