Joyce proudly handed her a bottle of the booze for a promotional video. He said his catchphrase: 'Just remember, Dougie Joyce loves ya.'
The ex-PM then held up the spirit and beamed: 'Liz Truss loves you.'
Last night, a source close to guest-of-honour Truss insisted she had not been paid to appear at last month's event at non-league Scunthorpe United's stadium.
But that raised further questions over her apparent lack of judgment as she is considering a comeback to frontline politics.

One source said: 'Liz Truss either doesn't understand the implications or doesn't care. Either way this is a serious lapse.
'Aggressive and violent man'
'She's a former Prime Minister and has to be extremely careful who she associates herself with.
'You have to wonder if anyone did the due diligence.'
Joyce, who has links to the notorious Gooch gang, was captured on CCTV attacking the widower.
He was seen shouting and pointing at his victim before unleashing three vicious blows.
Joyce was jailed for 19 months by Manchester crown court in November 2023. At the time, Det Con Natalie Hollows said: 'Joyce is an aggressive and violent man.

Dougie Joyce
Traveller Joyce, who once boasted he would be 'the next Tyson Fury', is a cousin of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty — and was involved in a 2011 fight which saw part of Paddy's ear chewed off.
Joyce, of Salford, now claims to have since turned his life around and says he is doing charity work.
He wrote on Instagram of his launch for Joyce's Irish Whiskey: 'It was a great honour to have former Prime Minister Liz Truss as a special guest.

'Having her there truly meant a lot and added a distinguished touch to the occasion.'
Last night he declined to comment.
A spokesman for Truss — who lasted 49 days in No10 in 2022 — said: 'She attended the event to support the people working to regenerate the town and Scunthorpe FC.'
At the weekend Truss, 49, appeared at a conference in Hungary with its PM Viktor Orban, a stooge of Russia's Vladimir Putin.
Last year she was accused of 'propagating conspiracy theories' during a trip to the US.
And she was criticised for taking part in an interview with President Donald Trump's controversial ex-strategist Steve Bannon — remaining silent as he praised far right activist Tommy Robinson as a 'hero'.

Lawrence, 33, is also accused of threatening to stab Chloe and her new boyfriend Bora Guccuk, who had called the model during the alleged attack in October 2022. Prosecutor Sheilagh Davies said: "He threatened to stab Chloe and Bora. He threatened that he would assault them and threatened all sorts of things. "That made Bora concerned not only for his own safety but for Chloe's as well." The Old Bailey was told Bora could hear the model screaming "help me, help me" before he managed to contact police. Chloe then managed to escape to the Berkeley Hotel to meet her friend, Alexandra Ivanovic. During her evidence, the influencer said: "I genuinely thought I'm going to die." Chloe later went to hospital where it was found one of the bite marks on her neck had "turned septic", it was said. Jurors heard a slew of messages were recovered from Lawrence's phone that were sent just before the alleged assault. He told her: 'I'll do everything in my power to f**k you up. "You're a lying little whore, you said you were coming to me an hour-and-a-half ago." The court was told the pair had been in a relationship for around six months between December 2021 and May 2022 but remained "on and off" after it ended. Giving evidence, Chloe described their relationship as "narcissistic" adding: "You are addicted to the highs and lows. It is euphoric." She told the court she was left with six bite marks and as a result she needed a tetanus shot and antibiotics. Chloe also described Lawrence as "crazy" and claimed he pursued her while she was at the Cannes film festival and in Mykonos with friends. Whisky merchant Lawrence denies one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Lyons crime clan fear traitor helped set up Ross Monagahan & Eddie Lyons Jr gangland bloodbath murders

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) REELING Lyons crime clan members suspect a traitor in their tight inner circle set up the shocking murders of Eddie Lyons Jnr and Ross Monaghan, underworld sources claimed. Insiders said gang bosses are certain someone trusted tipped off the gunman just hours before the Mafia-style hit at a pub packed with holidaymakers in Fuengirola, Spain. The pair were enjoying a meal and a drink after watching the Champions League final when the assassin zeroed in on them as petrified punters ran for cover. The fresh revelations emerged as horrific CCTV footage revealed the last moments of Monaghan, one of Scotland's most notorious gangland figures. Pictures recorded from inside his Irish pub — and later broadcast on Spanish TV — show the gunman bursting in wearing a black cap, a black top, shorts and what seemed to be a T-shirt as a makeshift mask. Relaxed Monaghan is sitting nearby wearing a white T-shirt and chatting to customers, unaware he and long-time close pal Lyons are seconds from death. A source told The Scottish Sun: 'Eddie and Ross were always wary of who knew where they would be. 'They often changed plans at the last minute and Eddie was always wary about using his phone anywhere. He only did face-to-face meetings which meant he had to travel back to Scotland a lot. 'The gunman was obviously tipped off as the two of them had decided on a change of venue at the last minute. 'Only a few people would have known about that so there will be a hunt on to find who betrayed them to the guys who killed them.' Lyons, 46, was the first to die when he was blasted in the chest at point-blank range as he sat on the terrace outside. The INSIDE story of Scotland's biggest gangster - Jamie 'The Iceman' Stevenson The camera footage shows desperate Monaghan then fleeing inside the bar for his life only to stumble to the floor as the killer gives chase with his gun drawn. The seriously wounded hood appears to look into his murderer's eyes in the split second before he tries to scramble away on all fours as he realises he has no escape. Two innocent bystanders thought to include a waitress and a man in black whose identity is not known can be seen running in terror. After being shot up to four times, Monaghan, 43, sits upright against a wall, motionless and with blood seeping out from his stomach wounds onto his top as his life ebbs away. 5 The pub was packed with holidaymakers in Fuengirola, Spain Credit: Solarpix The assassin — who remains at large — then races from the scene to meet up with a getaway driver before they sped off into the night. Our source also revealed the Glasgow-based Lyons clan keep matters so tight most family members only found out the pair were dead from media reports. They said: 'Most of the family were totally unaware of what had happened and were shocked to see the stuff in the papers. It's struck fear into the footsoldiers of the gang in Glasgow who are now constantly looking over their shoulder. 'They realise that if the top boys can be got at then so can they.' Claims also emerged last night that 'the wife' of one of the executed men witnessed the bloodshed at around 11.30pm on Saturday. Malaga-based newspaper Sur reported the woman was the partner of one of the two victims, but did not say which one. Further graphic images and video shared on social media show Lyons lying on his back amid claims he died instantly from a bullet to the chest. In one particularly harrowing clip, a good Samaritan is seen trying to keep him alive by frantically attempting CPR as a small group look on in stunned silence. Another shocked passer-by is heard on the phone saying: 'Someone's just got shot in the head.' Spanish police say they have yet to make any arrests. A spokesman added: 'The investigation is continuing into the fatal shooting of two men at a pub in Fuengirola.' A government representative for the Malaga area said reports of a third person having been hurt in the carnage were incorrect. Detectives revealed the shooter fled on foot before rejoining an accomplice in a car who had driven him to the scene. Police have retraced part of their escape route to a dual carriageway heading towards Benalmadena. Officers from an elite Spanish National Police Costa del Sol-based Anti-Drug and Organised Crime Unit UDYCO are heading the hunt. They are reporting to a local investigating judge coordinating the operation. Court officials are expected to confirm a secrecy order has been imposed on the investigation, barring public officials from making any detailed public comment. The 'secreto de sumario' orders are often placed on criminal probes, especially in their infancy, to limit the number of people who have access to sensitive information. Some local reports point to witnesses identifying the hitman as a 'blonde man' and investigators working on the theory British nationals are behind the killings, but detectives have not commented. A British woman who answered the phone at Monaghan's Irish bar said she had been told by cops not to comment. Monaghan was cleared of killing Daniel clan enforcer Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll in a 2010 shooting. In 2017, Monaghan and Lyons were pictured laughing outside Glasgow Sheriff Court as an assault trial against them collapsed. They had been accused of battering three men outside the Campsie bar in Bishopbriggs. Their murders come amid a violent gang war that has seen firebombings and assaults across the central belt since March. We told how hoods said to be working for Dubai-based mobster Ross 'Miami' McGill, 31, triggered the mayhem here targeting allies of jailed Edinburgh cocaine kingpin Mark Richardson and Lyons enemies, the Daniel family. Former Rangers ultras chief McGill, from East Kilbride, has been out for revenge amid claims rivals paid him for £500,000 of coke with fake notes.
