Rescue Cat Who 'Doesn't Do Gentle Parenting' Gives Kittens Funny Lesson in Who's Boss
Having kids changes everything, and unfortunately, they don't come with instructions (I wish!). Many of us figure things out along the way, which means sometimes we get it right and sometimes we're absolutely destined to be the hot topic in their future therapy sessions (c'est la vie, amIright?!).
Luna is a new cat mom who would probably agree. She's doing her best, probably, but that doesn't mean she's the purrfect parent—no one is. The important thing is she's teaching her kittens how to prepare for the outside world with her unique, sometimes rowdy, life lessons!
"Having a sweet, pregnant cat thinking she's going to be a good mom," is the funniest caption when Luna is practicing her bunny kick on one of her precious offspring cuties! She doesn't care because life is hard, and they have to learn sooner rather than later how to deal.
Gentle parenting isn't for everyone, and it's clearly not her style (been there, done that, lived to tell the tale). Some kids need a stern, tough, or strict environment to thrive, so I guess you could say this kitty mom is doing them a favor. They've got to be ready for anything, including a random, full-body attack from Mom!"Ain't no gentle parenting 'round these parts," one person joked in the comments. "She's building character," another pointed out. "Kids change you, man," another added.
Others who totally get Luna's vibe weighed in on what she was thinking during those wild times, like one fan who joked, "YOU WANT TO SURVIVE? YOU GOTTA SURVIVE MEEEE FIRST!"
To be fair, those moments caught on camera don't capture the whole story. Like any tired, annoyed parent who's touched out when the kittens are acting like hellions, she reacted how she felt at the time. There are just as many tender moments when she's an amazing mom with her adorable crew.
More About Luna's Backstory
With so much sass, you can tell Luna learned how to survive on her own, and now that she has a family to care for, it's taking some time to figure things out. As shared in another post, the new cat mom was a stray, found living in an abandoned house while pregnant.
She wasn't ready to be a single mom of four—because, who is?—and she's learning each day what that means. Give her a break!

A feel-good comedy is an HBO Max movie you should watch this weekend (August 15-17)
New Warner Bros. movies are dominating HBO Max's top 10. Final Destination Bloodlines, the sixth movie in the horror franchise, has settled in the top spot for most of August. Freaky Tales, a Pedro Pascal anthology film, and Death of a Unicorn, a satirical horror, round out the top three. Beyond the top 10, there are some underrated options to consider, including a little-seen comedy with two likable stars and a charming feel-good adventure. Recommended Videos We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, and the best movies on HBO Max. Get a Job (2016) In 2012, Miles Teller and Anna Kendrick shot a small comedy called Get a Job. Due to distribution issues, the film sat on the shelf for nearly four years. During that time, Teller broke out in Whiplash, and Kendrick became a star in Pitch Perfect. By the time 2016 rolled around, the studio wanted it off their books, so they released it in limited theaters and video on demand. Fresh out of college, millennial Will Davis (Teller) believes he has a job lined up at a newspaper. On his first day, Will's job is eliminated, which sends him to the unemployment line. Meanwhile, Will's girlfriend, Jillian (Kendrick), struggles to maintain employment, which upends her ambitious personality. Don't believe the poor Rotten Tomatoes scores. Get a Job is a light, breezy comedy about the difficult transition into the real world after college. Trust the charm of Teller and Kendrick. Stream Get a Job on HBO Max. The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019) You'll be hard-pressed to find a movie sweeter than The Peanut Butter Falcon, a dramedy from directors Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz. After escaping his care facility, Zak (Zack Gottsagen), a young man with Down Syndrome, wants to become a professional wrestler. Zak meets another drifter in Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), who agrees to accompany him on his journey to a wrestling school in North Carolina. The two outlaws become allies, with Tyler imparting his wisdom to Zak. The duo becomes a trio when Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), Zack's caretaker, agrees to accompany them on their journey. The Peanut Butter Falcon is a feel-good tale that plays like a sweeter version of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. Stream The Peanut Butter Falcon on HBO Max. We Live In Time (2024) Tissues are a must when watching We Live In Time, a romantic drama from Brooklyn's John Crowley. Almut (Florence Pugh) and Tobias (Andrew Garfield) meet after an unlikely scenario: Almut hits Tobias with her car. To make it up to Tobias, Almut treats him to dinner. So begins an unlikely love story that chronicles the next decade of their lives. Pugh and Garfield are incredible together, which makes you hope they work together in the future. Warning: We Live In Time takes a dark turn that might leave you in tears. However, this sad story emphasizes the movie's theme — to cherish every moment with the person you love. Stream We Live In Time on HBO Max.

'Sesame Street' stars Elmo and Abby Cadabby sing and host in their Grand Ole Opry debut
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — For a 3 1/2-year-old, Elmo sure has sung a lot on 'Sesame Street' with some of the best musicians in the world. But it wasn't until Thursday that the friendly red monster made his Grand Ole Opry debut, a country music rite of passage. The squeaky voiced singer's roots in the genre actually run pretty deep. Elmo helped ring in the Grand Ole Opry's 100th anniversary this year by co-hosting with his 'Sesame Street' pal Abby Cadabby. Elmo, in a little blue cowboy hat and matching shirt, teamed up for a duet alongside Lauren Alaina, while Abby Cadabby sang with Tayla Lynn, the daughter of Loretta Lynn, the late country star who had visited 'Sesame Street' herself. 'We sing all the time on 'Sesame Street,' but um, well, being able to sing in the home of country music is amazing!' Abby Cadabby told The Associated Press prior to their performance. The puppet pair shared the spotlight in Music City during a stop on the 'Sesame Street' crew's Road Trip Across America this summer and fall, when the characters that kids have watched on TV for decades are heading to events such as professional baseball games, state fairs and corn mazes. Cookie Monster even served as the grand marshal at the NASCAR Brickyard 400 in Indiana, making a cookie crumb mess, as expected. Throughout the years, the 'Sesame Street' gang has played and sung songs with some of country music's brightest stars, including Garth Brooks, Lee Ann Womack, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown, Mickey Guyton, Kacey Musgraves and more. Chris Stapleton stopped by Sesame Street in late July. Johnny Cash made multiple appearances. He won over Oscar the Grouch with his song, 'Nasty Dan,' about a mean guy who never laughed and was rumored to have never taken a bath. 'Wow, I'd like him,' Oscar the Grouch mused from his trash can. Loretta Lynn, meanwhile, joined for a math lesson with the Count on the song, 'Count on Me.' In their interview with AP, Elmo and Abby Cadabby said the Count always talks about Loretta Lynn. Elmo said Stapleton's song about the power of music was really great. 'Elmo got to wear his hat,' Elmo said of Stapleton. 'It was a little big for Elmo, but that's OK. A really good time.' Both of them were also dreaming big about singing with Dolly Parton. 'Elmo would love to do a duet with Miss Dolly Parton,' Elmo said. 'Maybe we could do 'Jolene' together. Come on Dolly! Call Elmo!' 'Yeah! Or 'Love is Like a Butterfly!'' Abby Cadabby added. 'Call us! We're available!' Elmo said. 'Sesame Street'debuted in 1969, and has helped generations of children learn, grow and be kind with characters like Bert, Ernie and Grover. Elmo wasn't officially Elmo, though, until 1980 in the 11th season. Before that, he was more of an extra used in some segments. He turns 3 1/2 years old on his birthday every February 3. Abby Cadabby is a 4-year-old fairy-in-training, and the Fairy Godmother's daughter. She came to Sesame Street in 2006. They also tossed out some ideas for new country songs. Elmo said he might write one about Rocco, the pet rock from Sesame Street. Abby Cadabby's idea was a little more complicated. 'A guitar-playing pickle picking in a pickle patch with a penguin eating pizza. Woo!' she said. 'Maybe I'll just sing about my friend Big Bird.' Elmo has also had play dates with his cousin Elmer, who spoke with a little twang, wore a bright green cowboy hat and played a guitar to lead them in the 'Rootin' Tootin' Hootin' Hollerin' Country Jamboree.' 'Elmo loves country music, too,' Elmo said. 'Elmo loves the fiddle. Elmo loves to hear the fiddle. And Elmo loves to say fiddle.'

Miss Manners: My wild college days have resurfaced online
Dear Miss Manners: I have been married to a very sweet guy for over 15 years now. I have never made a habit of keeping secrets from him, and we have a very honest relationship. However, my lifelong friend recently discovered that something from our college days has surfaced online. It's a video of my friend and me participating in a wet T-shirt contest during spring break. In an effort to win, we actually both lost our shirts … and bottoms … and got totally naked during the event. We even gave each other a little smack on the booty near the end of the contest. Well, now it's online. On one hand, we think, 'Oh well, at least we look good, and it's from a long time ago.' On the other hand, it's a bit embarrassing — especially for me, because my husband would find this to be totally surprising and out of character for me. Should my friend and I tell our husbands? We don't know how most men would react to having an old video of their nude wives show up online! Better coming from you than having it sent to them by a stranger for hush money. Miss Manners therefore encourages you to get to him first, laughing it off and attributing it to the folly of youth. No doubt your husband has blemishes in his own past that he would prefer to forget — of which you might remind him, if he acts anything other than quietly bemused. Dear Miss Manners: We used to have next-door neighbors we were extremely close with. We had meals together once or twice a week, and even watched their 2-year-old twins for a weekend when they had to leave for a funeral. They started distancing themselves from us due to politics, and eight years ago, they moved away without even saying goodbye. Recently, out of the blue, we received some random text messages from the wife, and then, by mail, we received graduation announcements for each of their boys. Given the break in the friendship, which was not our choice, are we obligated to send gifts? I am happy to send a nice note congratulating them on their graduation, but my partner feels we should send gifts. A milestone announcement is not a subpoena for gifts. Well, Miss Manners should clarify: It should not be received as one, whether or not that was its sender's true intent. If your former neighbors really wanted to make a connection with you again, they would have invited you to the ceremony or graduation party. Then you might have wanted to give the graduates presents. If you do decide to send a present anyway, Miss Manners trusts it will not be a political donation to your preferred party — however tempting that may be.
