Time to start planning if you want to spend Halloween at Disney

USA Today24-06-2025
It's time to start planning for Halloween, Disney fans. Yes, already.
Tickets to Disneyland's Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party go on sale Thursday to the general public and quickly sell out.
Tickets to Walt Disney World's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are currently on sale, and Halloween night is already sold out.
Both specially ticketed, after-hours events are beloved for their event-exclusive entertainment, special character meet-and-greets, in-park trick-or-treating, and chance to dress in costume, which adult guests don't usually get to do in the parks.
However, they're not the only way to celebrate Halloween, particularly at Disneyland.
Here's what guests should know.
Does Disneyland do anything special for Halloween?
Disneyland goes all out for Halloween with fall festival vibes along Main Street, U.S.A., a 'Nightmare Before Christmas' overlay on Haunted Mansion, a Monsters After Dark takeover of Guardians of the Galaxy, Haul-O-Ween theming throughout Cars Land, Mickey's Trick and Treat show at Disney California Adventure and the Halloween Screams nighttime spectacular on select nights at Disneyland Park.
All that is included with standard park admission, just like Disney California Adventure's Plaza de la Familia celebration, which honors Dia de los Muertos. Disneyland's ongoing 70th anniversary festivities are also included, though 'Wondrous Journeys" and 'Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!' will temporarily pause for Halloween Time offerings.
What are the Halloween dates at Disneyland?
Halloween Time runs Aug. 22 through Oct. 31 at Disneyland Resort. Plaza de la Familia starts on the same day but continues through Nov. 2 at Disney California Adventure.
Oogie Boogie Bash will be held at Disney California Adventure:
On Oogie Boogie nights, the park closes early to regular guests. The bash begins at 6 p.m., but attendees can enter as early as 3 p.m.
How expensive is Oogie Boogie Bash?
Oogie Boogie Bash tickets start at $139 for guests ages 3 and older. They top out at $199, for Halloween night.
Last year's tickets ranged from $134 to $189.
Does Disney World do anything for Halloween?
Most of Disney World's Halloween activities are tied to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which is not included with standard admission.
However, everyday guests can enjoy Halloween decorations along Magic Kingdom's Main Street U.S.A. and elsewhere around the resort.
Beginning Aug. 16, Hollywood and Vine will offer Minney's Halloween Dine, a buffet with Minnie and her friends in Halloween attire at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Additional offerings may be available at the Disney Springs shopping, dining and entertainment complex and at Disney resorts for guests staying there.
What are the dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2025?
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be held at Magic Kingdom:
Halloween night is already sold out.
On party nights, Magic Kingdom closes early to regular guests. The event begins at 7 p.m., but attendees can enter the park as early as 4 p.m.
How much is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Event tickets start at $119 for guests age 10 and older, just like last year.
However, the highest priced tickets now cost more. Last year's tickets peaked at $199. This year's tickets go up to $229.
Can you go on rides during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
Yes, most rides remain open for the party and often have shorter waits than during the day, due to the event's limited capacity.
The same is true for Oogie Boogie Bash.

Taylor Swift's Timely Streaming Win Helps Her Album Become A Bestseller Again

Every December, it's common for Christmas songs to invade the Billboard charts, and as Halloween nears, several tunes — especially 'Thriller' by Michael Jackson — mount incredible comebacks. There aren't too many other tracks that enjoy annual surges in streams and sales that aren't connected to those two holidays, but Taylor Swift has landed one of the few. 'August,' featured on her album Folklore, returns to prominence as its namesake month nears and begins. Some years, the uptick is relatively small, while at other times, it's big enough to help the tune and the album it's featured on — and that's the case in 2025. Folklore Reenters Top Album Sales Chart Folklore is enjoying its biggest week in some time on the Billboard charts, thanks largely to increases in streams and sales of 'August.' At the moment, Folklore lives on four tallies, surging on three and returning to one. Five years after its release, Folklore is back on the Top Album Sales chart, appearing once again as one of the 50 bestselling titles in the country. The Grammy-winning effort lands on the list at No. 47 after selling more than 2,800 copies in the most recent finished tracking frame. Major Gains on Alternative and Rock Charts Swift's surprise release also surges on several other rankings. Folklore lives inside the top 10 on both the Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts, pushing to Nos. 4 and 9, respectively. It reappears inside the highest tier on the latter list, as last frame it sat at No. 14. The hugely popular project almost finds its way back inside the top 40 on the Billboard 200 as it jumps from No. 61 to No. 45. Consumption of the project grew by more than 14% from one frame to the next, as it moved 16,650 equivalent units compared to 14,600 units the week prior (per Luminate). Folklore Leads Swift's Album Chart Wins Swift sees eight of her albums appear on at least one Billboard chart apiece this week. Several titles, including The Tortured Poets Department, Reputation, and Red (Taylor's Version), live on two tallies at the same time. Folklore is easily the winner, as it appears on four rankings, doubling the total number of appearances of her other most successful projects in America at the moment. 'August' Drives Folklore's Seasonal Popularity Somewhat surprisingly, while consumption of the song 'August' is largely to thank for the success of Folklore, the song itself does not appear on any Billboard charts at the moment. The tune was never pushed as a single, but remains a fan favorite nonetheless. 'August' reached No. 23 on the Hot 100 and gave Swift one of her first top 10 hits on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart in its initial heyday. Folklore's Grammy-Winning Legacy When Folklore arrived in July 2020, it became Swift's seventh No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, where it debuted with more than 846,000 equivalent units, making one of the largest opening sums in recent memory at the time. It went on to win Album of the Year at the Grammys – another such success for the singer-songwriter – and has remained a top performer ever since, helped by tracks like 'Cardigan,' 'The 1,' and 'Exile' alongside 'August.'

Warner Bros. Pictures scores another opening weekend win with horror film ‘Weapons'

It's August, and horror and humor came to play. In a month that's long been known to let edgier movies thrive, Zach Cregger's highly anticipated horror film 'Weapons' did not disappoint, topping the box office during its debut weekend with $42.5 million domestically from 3,202 theaters. It made $70 million internationally. The film's success also handed its distributor, Warner Bros. Pictures, the seventh No. 1 opening of the year, and became the studio's sixth film in a row to debut with over $40 million domestically. 'Freakier Friday,' Disney's chaotic sequel to the 2003 classic, 'Freaky Friday,' took the second spot during its premiere weekend, earning $29 million in 3,975 North American theaters. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis return, this time for a double body-swapping between the mother-daughter duo and Lohan's teen daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter. Viral marketing tactics, coupled with strong social media word-of-mouth, boded well for both films' success, said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for the data firm Comscore. 'The top two films could not be more different, and that's what makes this weekend so appealing for moviegoers,' Dergarabedian said. 'Both are perfectly tailored for their audiences to react in real time over the weekend to these films and then post on social media.' 'Weapons' transports audiences to the small town of Maybrook, where 17 kids up and leave their homes at 2:17 a.m., leaving bewildered parents in their wake. The town is left to navigate the lingering effects of trauma through horror, paranoia and a touch of existential humor. The film is Cregger's follow-up to his solo directorial debut with the 2022 genre-bending horror, 'Barbarian.' That critically-acclaimed film had a slower start and smaller budget, but still topped the charts during its premiere with $10 million domestically and made a splash in the genre. 'Weapons' generated a lot of buzz for its strong reviews (95% on Rotten Tomatoes). 'The internet's exploding right now between Friday and today. You just see that people are having a great time with it,' said Jeffrey Goldstein, president of global distribution for Warner Bros. 'It starts with an exceptional movie, an exceptional marketing campaign, and the date was exceptional too.' The success of the comedy-horror double premiere meant 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' surrendered its two-week run in the top spot and landed in the third position, bringing in $15.5 million domestically. The superhero movie enjoyed a strong $118 million debut, but stumbled in its second weekend. 'The Bad Guys 2,' which got a healthy start at the No. 2 spot during its premiere weekend, came in fourth place, earning $10.4 million domestically. 'The Naked Gun' had a similar fate, reaching the fifth position with $8.4 million in North American theaters. 'Jurassic World Rebirth,' which came in seventh this week, is expected to hit $800 million globally by Monday, according to NBC Universal, following a successful run in theaters. Warner Bros. started off slow this year, but made a comeback with the box-office hit, 'A Minecraft Movie,' which opened with $157 million domestically. Since then, movies like 'Sinners,' 'Superman' and now, 'Weapons,' have found success. The studio set 'a blueprint to how to create a perfect summer lineup,' Dergarabedian said. 'Weapons 'also joins a stream of successful horror movies this year, its opening numbers coming in just behind 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' and 'Sinners.'
