ESPN, Fox Rejoin Forces for Sports-Focused Streaming Bundle

Yahoo20 hours ago
ESPN and Fox's previous effort at a sports-centric streaming service was a nonstarter, but the two companies are teaming up again.
The Disney-owned ESPN and Fox announced a plan on Monday to bundle their forthcoming direct-to-consumer offerings. The ESPN streaming service (just called 'ESPN') and Fox One will be offered as a bundle beginning Oct. 2. (Both platforms are set to go live on Aug. 21.)

The ESPN-Fox One bundle will cost subscribers $40 per month; separately, ESPN streaming will run for $30 monthly and Fox One, $20 per month.
The bundle offering comes seven months after the death of Venu, a proposed sports-only streaming service that Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery had planned. The companies scuttled the service amid legal challenges and Disney's decision to press forward with its standalone ESPN service.
The ESPN-Fox One bundle will give subscribers a wealth of sports options from the two companies, including the ESPN networks and Fox's sports networks FS1 and FS2. Fox One also includes programming from Fox News, the Fox broadcast network and its local stations.
'Working with Fox One on this bundle offer allows us to bring ESPN's world-class sports content to even more fans in a seamless and innovative way,' said Sean Breen, executive vp Disney Platform Distribution. 'This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to delivering premium experiences across platforms and meeting consumers where they are — anytime, anywhere.'
Said Tony Billeter, senior vp strategy and business development for Fox Direct to Consumer, 'Announcing ESPN as our first bundle partner is evidence of our desire to deliver the best possible value and viewing experience to our shared customers. Viewers will have access to an incredible portfolio of content through this bundle, including NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, college football and basketball, NASCAR, Indycar, as well as the upcoming FIFA World Cup, and more as we continue to look for opportunities to streamline the user experience, especially for the ultimate sports fan.'Best of The Hollywood Reporter

Cardinal Health shares drop as revenue misses expectations despite raised outlook

-- Cardinal Health (NYSE:CAH) shares fell 2.9% on Tuesday after the healthcare services company reported fourth-quarter revenue that missed analyst expectations, despite raising its fiscal 2026 earnings guidance. The company reported fourth-quarter revenue of $60.2 billion, relatively flat compared to the same period last year and below the analyst consensus of $60.92 billion. However, revenue increased 21% when excluding the impact of a previously communicated contract expiration with OptumRx. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $2.08, exceeding analyst expectations of $2.03. The 13% year-over-year increase in adjusted EPS was driven by a 19% rise in non-GAAP operating earnings to $719 million, with all five operating segments growing profit by double digits. "Fiscal 2025 was a transformative year for Cardinal Health, and we closed the year with momentum, delivering strong fourth quarter results," said Jason Hollar, CEO of Cardinal Health. "The broad-based operational strength, with all five of our operating segments growing profit double-digits, reflects the disciplined execution of our strategy and our investments for growth." For the full fiscal year 2025, Cardinal Health reported revenue of $222.6 billion, a 2% decrease from fiscal 2024, though revenue increased 18% excluding the OptumRx contract expiration. Adjusted EPS for the year rose 9% to $8.24. The company raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $9.30-$9.50, up from its previous outlook of $9.10-$9.30 and above the analyst consensus of $9.25. Cardinal Health also announced the acquisition of Solaris Health, described as the country's leading urology MSO with over 750 providers. Cardinal Health generated $2.5 billion in adjusted free cash flow for fiscal 2025 and expects $2.75-$3.25 billion for fiscal 2026. Septentrio Teams up with Gateworks to Launch Precision GNSS M.2 Card for Mission-Critical Edge Applications

New GW16160 combines Septentrio's mosaic-X5 GNSS receiver with Gateworks SBC integration for UAVs, robotics and industrial systems. SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., Aug. 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Septentrio, part of Hexagon, a leader in high-precision GNSS positioning solutions, is collaborating with Gateworks Corporation, a US-based manufacturer of high-quality Single Board Computers (SBCs). Gateworks is now bringing its first Septentrio-based product to market, the GW16160, a new M.2 card which provides reliable high-accuracy positioning powered by the mosaic-X5 GNSS module. Why This Redefines Edge Navigation The mosaic-X5 module is a multi-frequency, multi-constellation receiver renowned for its high level of resilience to GNSS jamming and spoofing thanks to the built-in AIM+ (Advanced Interference Mitigation) technology. It also features a suite of GNSS+ algorithms that ensure robust positioning of rugged systems operating in challenging industrial environments. The GW16160 card with mosaic-X5 is a high-quality positioning solution for edge devices, including autonomous robots, UAVs and industrial mission-critical applications. The GW16160 removes these barriers by offering: Survey-grade positioning in a compact M.2 form factor 448-channel tracking across all major GNSS constellations RTK accuracy down to 0.6 cm with support for PPP, SSR and SBAS Reliable operation in high-vibration and interference-prone environments Secure browser-based tools for diagnostics, spectrum analysis, and monitoring For product specifications and documentation, visit Gateworks' GW16160 Product Page. "This collaboration brings Septentrio's industry-leading positioning technology to rugged embedded systems," said Kelly Peralta, Vice President of Sales at Gateworks Corporation. "Combined with Gateworks SBCs, the GW16160 enables faster deployment for autonomous and kinematic systems without compromising positioning accuracy or resilience." "We are excited to collaborate with Gateworks, an American-based partner, with a solid track record of developing and distributing high-quality electronics," commented Gustavo Lopez, Market Portfolio Manager at Septentrio. "The new M.2 card strengthens the mosaic ecosystem, optimizing space and design efficiency of industrial and mission-critical edge applications which require high-performance positioning." Designed and manufactured in the USA, the GW16160 allows engineers to integrate high-accuracy GNSS into edge systems without bulky external receivers or complex RF design. This ultra-low power card features an M.2 A/E-Key interface with USB 2.0 connectivity for plug-and-play integration. Together, Gateworks and Septentrio are empowering developers to deploy ultra-precise, interference-resistant positioning in edge systems without compromising size, power or reliability. Top LSU football rival makes big decision about starting quarterback

One of LSU's biggest rivals made a major decision in its quarterback battle. According to ESPN, Alabama has settled on Ty Simpson as QB1. Simpson was a five-star recruit in 2022, per the Rivals Industry Rankings. Despite having to sit behind Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe, Simpson waited his turn, passing up the transfer portal. Simpson's path mirrors the one LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier took. Nussmeier sat three seasons before taking over the starter role in his fourth year on campus. In 2024, Simpson attempted just 25 passes. He completed 14 of them for 167 yards. Alabama's roster is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. The Crimson Tide have stars at wide receiver with Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard. The offensive line is expected to be one of the best in the country. On defense, Kalen DeBoer's squad returns eight starters on a unit that led the SEC in turnovers. If Simpson is as advertised, Alabama is a national title contender. The Crimson Tide rank No. 8 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, one spot ahead of LSU at No. 9. When does LSU football play Alabama in 2025? LSU and Alabama won't meet until Nov. 8. As usual, the game is one of the most anticipated of the college football season. Alabama is nearly a touchdown favorite as of early August. This article originally appeared on LSU Wire: Top LSU football rival makes big decision about starting quarterback
