BBC to air ‘skin-crawling' horror so terrifying it prompted mass walkouts TONIGHT
A DISTURBING science fiction horror drama is coming to the small screen tonight - and it's not one for the faint-hearted.
The controversial gore-fest is making its way to BBC2 - despite causing mass walkouts at its first ever screening.

The 'skin-crawling' body horror saw dozens of viewers walk out of the initial Cannes screening - while it also received a seven minute round of applause.
Crimes of the Future is from the brains of filmmaker David Cronenberg and stars Viggo Mortensen, Lea Seydoux and Kristen Stewart.
Stewart plays a curious investigator hired by an organ agency as they commodify the act of surgery for a live audience.
The 2022 film's synopsis explains: "As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations.
"With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances.
"Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed...
"Their mission -- to use Saul's notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution."
The dystopian world movie saw audiences and critics walk out mid film - but has still ranked highly according to other gore-loving fans.
Yet the polarising horror has scored an impressive 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Cronenberg told Variety previously about the walkout uproar: 'It doesn't make me sad.

'I mean, the worst thing is if your movie is boring and I've been some screenings in Cannes where nobody walked out, but nobody cared about the movie either.
"And that would be very depressing.'

Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) rapper Silentó sentenced to 30 years for killing cousin
Rapper Silentó has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the fatal shooting of his cousin, four years ago. In 2021, the musician best known for his viral song Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) was arrested on charges relating to the death of Frederick Rooks. Rooks, 34, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on January 21 and died from his injuries. Silentó, real name Ricky Lamar Hawk, pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the charges and took a plea deal to reduce the charges, as reported by Variety. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and concealing the death of another. Another felony murder charge was dropped as part of this plea agreement. Hawk, 27, will serve 30 years in prison but will get credit for time served, having been behind bars since February 2021. At the time of his arrest, his publicist, Chanel Hudson, posted on social media about his mental health issues. She wrote: 'Over the past several years, Ricky has been suffering immensely from a series of mental illnesses. We will continue in his efforts of treatment, but we ask in the meantime the public uplift him and his family in immediate prayer & positive energy!!' He had previously been arrested in 2020 after allegedly wielding a hatchet while searching for his girlfriend. According to police reports of the incident, he had walked into a random house demanding to see his girlfriend until a friend arrived and informed him it was the wrong home. Another alleged incident in late 2020 saw the rapper pulled over on his way from a nightclub when he was spotted driving at 143mph in a 65mph zone. He was reportedly swerving in and out of cars and said he was 'not a regular person' and claimed people were following him. Hawk rose to fame in 2015 with debut single Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), which was released while he was still in high school. The song and its accompanying dance became one of the biggest trends of the year, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100. More Trending Despite some critics blasting the track as irritating, Watch Me earned him a nomination for Song of the Summer at the MTV Video Music Awards. The track was also nominated for R&B/Hip-Hop Song at the Teen Choice Awards the same year, although it did not win either award. Hawk has not seen the heights of fame since, with Hudson claiming he had struggled to cope and attempted suicide in the years after his hit. American Gangster film based on true story that's a 'must watch' if you love the Godfather
The gangster film, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime, has been hailed as very "underrated" and the "best true crime drama out there". Biographical crime film Kill the Irishman is a movie based on the life of the Irish-American gangster Danny Greene that has viewers raving. The movie, which is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime and Apple TV, is an on-screen adaptation of Rick Porrello's book To Kill the Irishman: The War That Crippled the Mafia. The film's official synopsis reads: "Kill the Irishman tells the true story of Danny Greene, a scrappy union representative who rose through the ranks of the Cleveland underworld and became a force to be reckoned with, ultimately engaging in a turf war with the Italian Mafia. Greene's rise to power and his eventual assassination, which is depicted in the film, are the central themes. "The film explores Greene's ambition, his clashes with the Mafia, and the impact of his actions on organised crime in Cleveland and beyond." Directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, the star studded cast includes Ray Stevenson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Val Kilmer, Christopher Walken, Linda Cardellini , Tony Darrow and Robert Davi, among others. The film, which is also available to watch on Apple TV, has been applauded by gangster movie fanatics, who have branded it a 'must watch' if you are a fan of The Godfather, the Express reports. One critic stated in an IMDb review: "Great cast, great acting, and an absolute must-see for mafia-philes. "Unlike many bio-dramas, this one moves along at a rocket pace, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats." Another hailed the film as "very underrated". Kill the Irishman received mixed reviews upon its release and was noted for its similarities to Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas (1990). It was awarded a divisive score of 63% from Rotten Tomatoes critics, who state: "Kill the Irishman may not add much in the way of new ingredients to its crowded genre, but the admirable efforts of a solidly assembled cast add extra depth to a familiar story." However, other reviewers were quick to jump to its defence as one insisted it it "the best true crime drama out there" and another agreed they "absolutely love this [film]. Kill the Irishman is not the only gangster film that Amazon viewers are currently raving about as another crime film, that's been described as 'poetic' has recently resurfaced. Starring two forgotten Hollywood legends, the 1990s American gangster film, Miller's Crossing, created by Joel and Ethan Coen, is considered to be "an all time classic" by viewers. The film follows the story of two rival gangs, set during the 1929 Prohibition, as Irish mob boss Leo O'Bannon, portrayed by Albert Finney, sets off a war between the two as he protects his girlfriend's brother, Bernie, who lands himself in trouble with the other group. Unbeknownst to him, his girlfriend is having an affair with his partner-in-crime, Tom Reagan, played by Gabriel Byrne. Despite Tom's attempts to feed Bernie to the wolves, Leo trusts in his decision to protect him. However, while his Italian gangster enemy Johnny Caspar is growing in power in the background, he needs the help from his right-hand man now more than ever, that is, until he finds out he's been sleeping with his girlfriend. The title boasts a near 'perfect' rating as one viewer wrote on Rotten Tomatoes:"All-time classic. This has all the hallmarks of a noir. "The script is very complicated but never convoluted to the point where you can't follow it, which is a testament to the masterful editing. My only real complaint is while the music is good, I wish it was used a bit more, but this really is never dry. Everyone should give this a try once."

All The Amazing Filming Locations In 'The Survivors', Netflix's New Thriller
There's nothing like a tense murder mystery to keep us glued to our screens, and Netflix's new crime series, The Survivors, has filled the gap in our TV schedules. If you haven't heard of The Survivors, the Australian drama flicks between the past and the present to tell the story of a coastal town, Evelyn Bay, that has been rocked with tragic deaths. The show is based on a bestselling novel by Jane Harper, and follows the story of Kieran Elliot, played by Charlie Vickers, as he returns to his hometown 15 years after losing his brother at sea in a storm. But on arriving back, he is met with another tragedy - a girl's body discovered on the beach. But alongside its twisty-turny storyline, something else has struck viewers: the gorgeous filming location. Think golden beaches, mysterious caves and rocky cliffs. Yerin Ha, who stars in the show, recently shared an Instagram post featuring some of the beautiful filming locations. As Ha's Instagram post suggests, the show was mostly filmed in Tasmania, but the production used several different locations to bring the action to life. Evelyn Bay is an entirely fictional town, which meant the crew has to get creative about where they filmed the series. Speaking with Tudum, Tony Ayres, the creator of The Survivors, said 'Evelyn Bay doesn't actually exist. Jane [Harper] made it up out of a number of different place.' The town of Evelyn Bay is bought to life through locations around Hobart, which is the capital city of Tasmania. Hobart has an urban landscape with a small population that strikes the right balance between nature and city, which the crew thought was perfect for the story. The Survivors. Cr. The eerie, remote locations, menacing cliffs and underpopulated areas work to represent the dangers the characters face, and adds to the sense of mystery that shrouds the town. According to Netflix's' Tudum, filming also took place at Eaglehawk Neck. Eaglehawk Neck is a small village which is about a 77km drive from Hobart, and hosts an impressive rocky shoreline. It really is so spectacular.' In another interview with Variety, Ayres explained why Eagle Hawk was the perfect place to film the show. 'It became very clear once we found Eagle Hawk Neck and the spectacular landscapes that the locations were going to be crucial to not just the tone of the show, but the themes of the show,' he told the outlet, adding that the landscape became integral to the story. 'We peppered the series all the way through with images from this sort of sense of foreboding that you have when you're standing on those cliff tops and seeing the caves and the ocean, the ferocity of the ocean, all of those things felt absolutely that they became emblematic of the storm, but also they felt metaphoric for the themes of the series,' he said. Alongside Eagle Hawk, some of the beach scenes were done at Freycinet Peninsula, which is part of Freycinet National Park and a place of great natural beauty. The area consists of dramatic mountain ranges and rocky cliffs which are integral to the show's atmosphere. One of these locations is Great Oyster Bay, which has breathtaking views of Schouten Island and the Hazards mountain range. Along with Tasmania, filming for The Survivors also took place in Docklands Studios in Melbourne. This location was mostly used for the interior shots, which allowed the crew to have more control over their environments.
