Michelle Trachtenberg Died From Diabetes Complications
Michelle Trachtenberg died from complications related to diabetes mellitus, according to New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The OCME ruled Trachtenberg's death as natural and the cause was determined after a review of laboratory test results, it confirmed to Rolling Stone. Trachtenberg died suddenly on Feb. 26 at the age of 39.

The news comes after the OCME previously said the cause of Trachtenberg's death would remain undetermined after the actress' family declined to have an autopsy performed because of religious reasons. The OCME obliged with the request because no foul play or criminality was suspected in Trachtenberg's death, hence initially ruling it as 'undetermined'; the medical examiner amended it following the laboratory test results. Toxicology testing can be done without an autopsy.
In the years before her death, some of Trachtenberg's social media posts had sparked concerns among fans about her health. She addressed these in January 2024, writing on Instagram, 'I've received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy.'
Following her death, reports emerged that Trachtenberg had recently received a liver transplant. One source told People that the actress was 'really, really sick and open with those in her circle about how much she was struggling.'
Trachtenberg enjoyed a multifaceted career, first as a child star, then as a recurring favorite in an array of young adult hits. She found early success on the Nickelodeon favorite The Adventures of Pete & Pete before starring in the movie, Harriet the Spy. As a teenager, she joined the cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and later had memorable roles in shows like Gossip Girl and the film, EuroTrip.

After he was accused of sexual assault and drug abuse by multiple people, the Newsboys singer spoke out on the allegations, which the accusers said took place between 2004 and 2014. "Recent reports of my reckless and destructive behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual activity are sadly, largely true," Tait wrote in a statement shared to his Instagram June 10. Alex Cooper's alma mater responds after she accuses college soccer coach of sexual harassment
Days after Alex Cooper accused her former college soccer coach of sexual harassment, Boston University has responded. The host of the popular 'Call Her Daddy' podcast, who made the allegations in a two-part Hulu documentary that premiered Tuesday after screening Sunday at the Tribeca Film Festival, played Division I soccer at the university for three years, during which time Cooper claims coach Nancy Feldman made inappropriate comments about her body and sex life, engaged in controlling behavior and touched her thigh. 'Nancy Feldman was someone I trusted. Someone I believed in. Someone who was supposed to help me grow. Someone who was supposed to protect me,' Cooper wrote Thursday on Instagram. 'But instead she made my life a living hell and abused her power over me.' In the same post, Cooper said she reported the abuse to athletic director Drew Marrochello, who she said ignored her complaints. The university addressed the allegations in a statement obtained Thursday by People and other news outlets. 'Boston University has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment. 'The minute I stepped on that field, I felt so small,' Cooper said. 'I felt like I was 18 years old again, completely powerless, with no voice.' Cooper said 'everything changed' when she discovered that other women had alleged similar experiences with Feldman. She decided that she needed to speak out after talking to one of the women. 'If a woman in my position, who has power and a platform, is still fearful, is still scared of speaking out about my own lived experience of sexual harassment, how the hell will any other woman feel safe and confident to come forward?' Cooper asked in the episode. Since 'Call Her Alex' premiered, TikTok user @sizzlinghotsarah shared her own experience with Feldman, alleging that the soccer coach harassed her for her sexuality.
