'I decided I was simply going to write for my heart and for my soul and nobody else,' singer frontman 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick said in a statement. 'At this point in our career, myself and the band feel we have complete creative license. Because, c'mon, nobody knows what the rules are anymore. So I'm not going to chase some vapor in the wind. I'm going to just do what I want.'
Co-lead singer Noelle Scaggs added, 'We've never wanted to be stuck in a box. We refused to do that. With this project, we're daring to be different.'
Starting tomorrow, Fitz and the Tantrums will take their new album on the road with their Man on the Moon Tour, kicking off May 8 in Wilmington, North Carolina. After a handful of May shows, the 31-date trek will kick off July 24 — a day before the album's release — in San Diego, California, and run through an ACL Live show in Austin on August 31.

Sharon Stone Says It 'Means the World' That Eric Dane Got ‘Euphoria' Role Before ALS Diagnosis

Sharon Stone has been rooting for her longtime friend and fellow actor Eric Dane for some time. The actress recently told Entertainment Tonight at the Nobody 2 premiere that she was Dane's 'support staff' when he was auditioning for the hit HBO show Euphoria years ago. Earlier this year, the actor revealed that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). A long time,' she said. 'And I actually was like his support staff when he was trying to get the job on Euphoria. So he would come over to my house and give me gluten-free cookies and we'd sit and discuss it because he really wanted that job.' Stone added that 'it means the world to me that he got that job in time,' prior to his ALS diagnosis. The two actors are set to star in the upcoming third season, with Dane reprising his role as Cal Jacobs, the Jacobs family patriarch, and Stone joining in a mystery role. Dane initially debuted his character in 2019's season one. In April, the Grey's Anatomy alum announced his ALS diagnosis publicly, writing, 'I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.' 'I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week,' he added at the time. 'I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.' ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a 'nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time,' according to the Mayo Clinic. There is no cure for the disease. In June, Dane told Diane Sawyer that he had already lost function in his right arm and worried about weakness on his left side and in his legs, adding, 'It's sobering.' The actor shares two teenage children with his wife, Rebecca Gayheart. Kid Cudi Gets Candid On Drug Overdose, Suicidal Thoughts In New Memoir

Kid Cudi is baring the darkest corners of his soul in his forthcoming memoir, Cudi: The Memoir, set to release on Aug. 12. The genre-bending rapper, who has long been revered for blending vulnerability and raw emotion into his music, is now offering an unflinching account of the mental health battles and drug addiction that nearly cost him his life—even at the height of his fame. 'I was at peace with dying,' Cudi writes, per GQ, recalling one harrowing moment in vivid detail. 'You made great music that people loved,' I thought. 'But this is the end.'' He describes collapsing to the floor, paralyzed by a mix of physical and emotional weight. The revelations come during a period when his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day had catapulted him into stardom. Yet behind the success was a man spiraling. 'I couldn't make sense of what was plaguing me,' he admits. 'It was all happening so fast. The first Man on the Moon had been out for about a year and I was on a rocket ship. Grappling with fame pushed me toward cocaine, which I only ever did alone. I was drawn to it in isolation, and my time by myself was increasing.' He even recalls doing 'lines that were as wide as my pinky.' Cudi confesses that cocaine became his crutch as he became more reclusive and disconnected. 'The coke felt like a necessary countermeasure for my celebrity, but it was wreaking havoc on my life, creatively and personally. I had become super volatile emotionally. My relationships were in shambles, and I couldn't get songs out like I wanted. The anger was boiling in me. My rage came from my reality not aligning with my dream.' He continues: 'I thought being set financially was going to save me and make everything all right. I thought being Kid Cudi would transform my life in all the best ways. It didn't.' Perhaps most heartbreaking is his admission of just how close he came to ending it all. 'After we'd finished a session, I'd be alone Googling exit bags,' he writes. 'I was thinking about a way I could actually do it. I was plotting it. There's a song at the end of Speedin' Bullet where I say good-bye, and that was meant to be my final album. I was going to kill myself at the end of that album, or before it came out, or during that cycle. I was not planning to live that year. Not many people around me expected me to either.' Now years removed from the depths of that despair, Cudi's memoir promises to be more than a tell-all—it's a sobering reminder of the silent struggles that can persist even under the glow of fame. For fans who've found healing in his music, Cudi: The Memoir may offer the most intimate chapter yet.
