Oman Radio wins second prize in Music competition
The winning entry features lyrics by Hisham al Saqri, composition and arrangement by Asaad al Raisi and vocals by Abdulhameed al Kiyoumi.
The competition saw broad participation from Arab broadcasting entities, including both public and private radio stations, with 11 songs and 8 musical pieces submitted from Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Comoros and Libya.
Asaad al Raisi, the composer and arranger of the song, stated that this achievement marks a significant cultural and artistic addition to Oman Radio's record in the Arab Music and Singing Competition under ASBU.
The competition is among ASBU's cultural and artistic initiatives, launched as part of its ongoing efforts to support Arab musical and vocal creativity and advance Arabic musical culture. - ONA

The deadline for submissions is November 10. The competition is part of the university's broader efforts to nurture creative individuals, researchers and innovators by organising events and contests in literature, thought and culture. It reflects the institution's commitment to consolidating Arab culture and motivating youth to express themselves through Arabic literature. Dr Hadidi informed that the competition will be held annually, rotating among various literary genres such as novels, poetry, and short stories. Winners will be honoured at the Arabic Language Department's annual celebration.
