Ontario Pink Floyd Tribute Band New Tour Dates, 50th Anniversary Show Announced
Kawartha Lakes, Canada, May 30, 2025 -- The newly announced shows will take place across Ontario throughout May and June, culminating in the 50th Anniversary Tribute show, set to take place at Mohawk College in Hamilton. The shows will feature Floydium exploring Pink Floyd's most psychedelic tracks, including well-known hits off of The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, and others.

Floydium explains that their main goal in each performance is to replicate not only the sound of Pink Floyd but also the soaring majesty that made the band so iconic. This is a monumental task, particularly given the complexity of the arrangements on tracks such as 'Great Gig in the Sky', but the band says they have gone to great pains to respect the source material and recreate it as faithfully as possible.
The band is fronted by accomplished vocalists Kyle Layton Thomas and James Naro, both of whom have been long-time contributors to the Canadian and international music scenes. Given the distinct and varied vocal performances featured on most Pink Floyd tracks, the pair have worked tirelessly to develop a style that honors the legacy of the band.
The two are backed by Jennifer Foster and Jenn Kee, both of whom have their own distinguished musical careers ranging from education to screen performance.

On drums, the band features seasoned music educator Greg Wilkinson, accompanied by keyboardist Joel Dalton—whose multi-instrumental, omni-genre background allows him to recreate Rick Wright's inventive style with relative ease—and saxophonist Lucas Durand, showcasing an emotional, raw playing style on tracks like 'Money' and 'Us and Them'.
The job of replicating the legendary guitar work of David Gilmour and, in the band's earlier years, Syd Barrett, goes to Joseph Piilonen, whose love of Pink Floyd inspired him to begin playing in the first place. He is assisted by rhythm guitarist Leon Dadoun, who also fills the role of lapsteel player, and bass aficionado Keiko Gutierrez.
One listener reviewed their experience, stating, 'I saw Floydium this past weekend at The Capitol Theatre in Chatham and was blown away. You can literally close your eyes and think Pink Floyd is on the stage. Will definitely be catching this act again. Great Gig in the Sky was fantastic.'
Those interested in attending any of the upcoming Floydium shows can find a complete calendar of their gigs throughout the next six months on their website.

Fuelling problems led float plane to run out of gas, land on N.W.T highway: report
FORT SIMPSON — Federal investigators say a fuelling fiasco forced a float plane pilot to make a dramatic landing on a highway in the Northwest Territories. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says the pilot was 14 kilometres from Fort Simpson last summer when his plane ran out of gas and lost power. The TSB says the plane's three fuel tanks were filled before takeoff, but swells coming off the lake made it challenging for the pilot to tell whether the tanks had been completely filled. On the trip back to Fort Simpson, the pilot noticed the plane's fuel gauges were showing empty sooner than expected. When the plane's power went out, the pilot made a Mayday call and safely landed the plane on a dirt highway. Nobody was injured, and the plane sustained only minor scratches to the underside of the floats. The report did not say whether anyone was at fault, as TSB investigations are used to improve safety. Razer's Gengar Edition headphones are now available in the US
Razer has announced that one of its most popular PC gaming peripherals from a Pokémon collaboration that was exclusive to China will soon be available in the US. The Gengar Edition of the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 headphones, which trade cute cat ears for the Pokémon's purple spikes, are now available through the company's online store for $139.99 in regions including the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. The functionality of the Gengar Edition is identical to the standard Kraken Kitty V2 headphones, which feature a Razer HyperClear cardioid mic on a boom that minimizes background noises, 40mm drivers, and virtual 7.1 surround sound capabilities. You don't have to worry about battery life because while the Kraken Kitty V2 is available in a Bluetooth version, the Gengar Edition is wired only. Razer already expanded its Pokémon collaboration to the US last month, but with a limited lineup of reskinned PC gaming peripherals featuring Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu, and Squirtle that felt somewhat lacking and uninspired. The Gengar Edition headphones feel like Razer is swinging harder for the fences and includes fun accents like an illustration of the Ghost / Poison type Pokémon on the earcup liners and a silhouette of the character on the outside that gets illuminated by Razer's Chroma RGB lighting. There are other Gengar accessories from Razer, including a mousepad and keyboard, but they remain exclusive to China. Drake Says He's Working on ‘Iceman' as a Party Rages Outside: ‘I'll Turn Up, Do Shots, Come Back'
Drake is hard at work finishing his ninth solo album Iceman — even if everyone around him isn't working at all. During a Kick stream with Adin Ross, the Toronto rapper said he planned to burn the midnight oil to work on his upcoming project while there was some sort of party outside of where he was recording. More from Billboard Everything We Know About Drake's 'Iceman' Album The Life of a Prolific Pop Star: 'Showgirl' Will Be Taylor Swift's Ninth Full-Length Album of the 2020s How Preston Cooper Went From 'The Singing Mailman' to Writing His First Country Hit With The Warren Brothers 'I'll stay up all night f—ing recording for Iceman,' he told Ross. 'They're having a full-blown party outside. I can hear a thousand people, them having a street festival all day. I'll f—ing run out there. I'll turn up with them, do shots, come back — like, I just want a little, you know, I wanna feel it.' Elsewhere on the stream, Adin revealed he's had the privilege of already listening to the highly anticipated project, but Drake wasn't exactly enamored with the way he delivered the news. 'I've already listened to the whole Iceman album. I already listened to everything, he sent me the whole album early… Great album,' the popular streamer told the chat before Drake responded with, 'Now people are gonna say that you're underwhelmed by it when you f—ing talking about it like that.' 'It was f—ing amazing,' Adin then answered. This wasn't the first time Drake worked on new music while a party was happening near where he was recording. A few months back, OVO signee Smiley said he noticed his label boss working on new music during parties and while filming the 'Nokia' music video. 'We're at a party and he was in the other room by himself eating pasta with wired headphones writing music while we have a whole f—ing party going on,' Smiley said in a clip shared on social media. 'He's on a different mode right now. Even at the 'Nokia' video shoot…in the breaks, he had a bunch of producers and was just recording. So, he's in that crazy mode right now. You see his captions…the man's talkin' his sh– because he's in that mode right now.' Iceman does not have an official release date yet.
