Speaking on her podcast Dig It with co-host Zoe Ball, Jo described the interaction as "really unpleasant".
Jo said: "I remember interviewing Eminem and Dr Dre one time and that was horrible.
"I'd interviewed Eminem when he was very young and he was very shy and polite.
"He kept calling me "ma'am" all the time and he was really, really sweet and humble."

But Jo recalled a more recent interview where she describes Eminem as being like "this other creature" after finding global fame.
"Then a couple of years later he came back on the show but with Dr Dre and the fame had happened and he was just this other creature altogether," Jo continued.
"They were just so playful with me - and can I just say they made me feel so tiny and so stupid."
Jo admitted that the interview was "a really unpleasant experience".

The radio star, who has been on the BBC since 1993, has interviewed a string of A-listers including David Bowie, Barbara Streisand and Noel Gallagher.
t comes after Jo opened up about battling anxiety in the early days of her DJ'ing career in the 90s.

'I remember doing one gig and I was just so scared, I thought I can't go on like this. This is ridiculous,' she told Woman's Health.
'It's ruining my life because I'm just such a ball of anxiety.

'But then I realised how happy it was making people when I do these gigs and that was a game changer.'
In June, Jo told The Sun why her kids will 'never be nepo babies,' despite her huge career success.
The highly successful 59-year-old radio star has been a host since 1993 and presented her own show on BBC Radio 1 from 2001-2009.
In addition to her radio work, Jo is also an accomplished TV presenter and has covered many major music festivals.

The star married music executive Steve Morton in July 1991, and together they share their four kids - their eldest daughter India was born the year they were married before an eight-year gap for the birth of son Jude.
The couple also share son Cassius and daughter Coco Lux.
But despite their musical connections and fame, Jo insists her four children will 'never be nepo babies.'
Speaking alongside a new campaign with The Rail Industry, Jo told The Sun: 'My kids will never be nepo babies. They are very determined never ever to make it because I'm their mum.

'It really horrifies them - the thought that anybody would ever employ them because of what I do. So they're so determined to get jobs and do work on their own merits, and they will never take advantage of me at all.'
Jo added: 'They'll never ever use my name to get somewhere.'
Jo said it's actually her who ends up introducing her children to popular artists and modern music, as opposed to the other way around.
And Jo's passion for music isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

The DJ, who is often found in the booth at her 90s anthem gigs, turns 60 next month on 4th July, but she has no plans to slow down her career.
'I've done so much over my career but I want to keep on keeping on, and playing music to people. I'm doing so much of what I enjoy at the moment, and I want to keep going with it.'

I went on a spooky tour of Ireland inspired by Netflix's Wednesday with haunted castles and huge waterfalls
An ancient cemetery and haunted castle were high on the agenda — both of which feature heavily in the new series WICKED WEDNESDAY I went on a spooky tour of Ireland inspired by Netflix's Wednesday with haunted castles and huge waterfalls WHEN I think of a holiday in Ireland I think, Guinness, Guinness and, yep, you guessed it, more Guinness. But my two-day mini-break to Wicklow, just 30 minutes south of Dublin, was anything but that. 4 The enchanting Wicklow mountains in Ireland Credit: Getty 4 Grave expectations for Ortega as Wednesday Credit: JONATHAN HESSION/NETFLIX In fact, it opened my eyes to this region's idyllic and dramatic rolling countryside as well as its complex history, steeped in mythology and folklore. And if I needed any more reason to visit, Ireland is now being billed as the new home of Halloween thanks not just to its long-standing roots to the pagan festival but the hit Netflix series Wednesday. The Addams family spin-off moved its filming location from Romania to Ireland's County Wicklow last year. And viewers can now admire the region in the second series — the first part of which aired, appropriately enough, this Wednesday. With all this in mind, it's fair to say my itinerary was positively gloomy, in a good way. An ancient cemetery and haunted castle were high on the agenda — both of which feature heavily in the new series. Secret tunnel Charleville Castle in County Offaly in the Midland region of Ireland, is the new home of Nevermore School — where Wednesday is shipped off to by her parents. As I wandered the halls and grand rooms of the 1800s Gothic castle, it wasn't hard to see why Wednesday's legendary director, Tim Burton, fell in love with the building's dark charm and character. Despite it being a protected structure, he and Netflix were able to persuade the castle's heritage trust to get a master carpenter to painstakingly remove one of the giant windows at the back. It was replaced with sugar-glass panels in order to film a werewolf smashing through the window and into Nevermore's music room, sparking chaos and fear among the pupils. Martin Lewis warns about strict passport rule that could see you board your flight - only to get sent home on arrival Luckily for me, the werewolf was nowhere to be seen on my visit. Even luckier for the trust, and visitors, Netflix left its giant, nine-orbed chandelier in place hanging dramatically in the entrance hall. Almost like something out of Scooby Doo, the castle's library features a false bookcase which opens up to a secret tunnel. It was originally built to allow the Freemason owners to sneak guests in and out of their meetings undetected. Visitors, meanwhile, have to use the main door located at the foot of a jaw-dropping winding, open staircase which is said to have been the site of a tragic death. Trust member Bridget Vance explained to me how a young girl named Harriet, daughter of the 3rd Earl of Charleville, fell to her death from the fourth floor. 4 Joanna Lumley as Grandmama in Wednesday Credit: OWEN BEHAN/NETFLIX 4 The Sun's Jack Hardwick Credit: Syupplied She is said to haunt the castle walls and can be heard singing from the nursery. Bridget, who has lived in the property since 2013, says her young son once went missing — only for her to find him at the top of the stairs. He supposedly told her he was OK as 'the little girl held my hand'. If I wasn't spooked enough already, I sure would be at Powerscourt Estate an hour's drive away from Charleville Castle. Netflix bosses have used extensive areas of this 47-acre estate to help recreate the magical world of Nevermore. Tucked away in the Wicklow Valley, the Powerscourt waterfall — Ireland's highest at 121 metres — will be instantly recognisable to fans of the show as summer camp Jericho. Away from the Wednesday film locations, the heritage town of Trim in County Meath is also worth a visit — especially at Halloween Powerscourt House itself, with sprawling manicured gardens that would put Buckingham Palace to shame, also features in the hit series. The building and grounds serve as the home of Joanna Lumley's character Hester, who is Wednesday's Grandma. I'm told bosses splashed out on more than 30 assistant directors to try and stop members of the public from filming and leaking scenes after they were unable to close the grounds during filming. To their credit, next to nothing found its way online prior to release. Away from the Wednesday film locations, the heritage town of Trim in County Meath is also worth a visit — especially at Halloween. Trim hosts the four-day Púca festival, which focuses on Ireland's mythological traditions of the spirit world coming to life instead of the commercialised American trick-or-treat version we all know today. Over four days the town transforms into a Halloween mecca with music, comedy, fire displays and a parade celebrating creatures from Celtic mythology called shapeshifters, which come out the shadows to take over the area. Rather than using pumpkins, locals carve out turnips as Jack-O-Lanterns. The turnips are a nod to the Irish folklore tale about a man called Jack who made a deal with the devil, which led to him being rejected from Heaven and Hell. He was destined to wander the countryside for ever, with only a lantern to guide him. While I can't say I've ever had a ghostly experience, in Ireland or otherwise, I leave the country fascinated by tales of yesteryear. But I'm also glad none of them have happened to me . . . yet.

The star has worked with some of the great musicians and songwriters of all time, and is currently receiving rave reviews as the star in Mother of All The Behans at the 3Olympia Theatre. Advertisement Imelda, 51, said: 'When I was in school, we were told you'd be lucky if you get into the local factory, do you know? Aim for Guinness'. Don't get pregnant. You might be a secretary — it was that kind of stuff. 'And I remember trying to get into art college, and one of the nuns was making a laughing stock of me, you know, saying, 'Who do you think you are? You? Trying to get into art college?' This is me trying to do a portfolio to get into art college and she said, 'You're not doing it in school time, are you joking, who do you think you are?' 'It's much easier for people who have either had a few bob to fall back on, parents that would help fund buying instruments and having the space, even the garage — we didn't even have a garden — to rehearse in. Things like that, like practicalities like that are tough.' Imelda stars as acclaimed author Brendan Behan's mammy Kathleen in an evening of songs and stories celebrating her life in Mother of All The Behans, which was adapted for the stage by Peter Sheridan from the book by Brian Behan. And she said she identifies with the character as someone who is from a working class background herself, having been born and raised in The Liberties in Dublin — and called for more support for people from the same background. Advertisement 'I THINK THE ARTS GIVES YOU FREEDOM' Imelda explained: 'I think there should be way more working class kids in the arts. 'So really, I'm a big believer in the arts and for working class people, because it's very, very difficult. 'You know, Brendan Behan and Kathleen Behan were working class. Sean O'Casey was working class. I'm working class. The Liberties was kind of known as an underprivileged area and I think the arts gives you freedom. The arts saves. 'The arts can save any soul in the world, but you have to be dedicated and you have to be ready to educate yourself.' Imelda May opens up on friendship with late Irish icon She added: 'I was 15 when I started. I was properly gigging and working at it for a long time. It wasn't that I was only doing it to break through, whether it worked for me or not I'd still be doing it. Advertisement 'It's not a choice. It's something that I have to do or I die inside. 'The only problem is obviously paying your bills. So I was working during the day and gigging at night. I was working as a waitress, I was working in a garage, I worked in a launderette, I worked in a nursing home as a carer. 'And I loved that job. I loved being a carer. It was such a privilege to look after people, especially as they left this world. So really, I'm a big believer in the arts and for working class people, because it's very, very difficult" Imelda May 'That made you really see the world in a different way. 'I'd sing to them actually, I'd sing to them in the bed if they wanted, but I'd gig at night, I'd be writing songs over the weekend. Advertisement OASIS INTERRUPTION 'So I think it's difficult for people when you are trying to make ends meet. Music is a tough business. The arts, it's really hard. You have to have a backbone of steel.' The star also told of the time she accidentally interrupted Oasis great Noel Gallagher in the middle of a recording session as he worked on a song with her and Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood four years ago. She recalls: 'I thought he was just rehearsing, I walked in on him asking did he want a cup of tea! I was like, 'I've made a bit of cake, do you want a bit?' 'He's like, 'F*** sake, Imelda! I was in the middle of the best solo I've ever done!' But he's very proud of being Irish.' Imelda's show moves from Dublin to Belfast's Grand Opera House next week, opening on August 18 the day after the Oasis double-header in Croke Park. Advertisement She added: 'I'd love to see them, of course, they're flying high. 'My own show has been going phenomenally well, it's been incredible. 'The tickets are flying out the door and I've been having a standing ovation every night, which is phenomenal. 'It's just wonderful that it's been received so well. 'You know, people are just jumping up to their feet before I'm nearly finished the end of the song. But she wants to set the record straight over a reported claim Bono called her 'the queen of Ireland' when she guested at a U2 concert in Dublin. She laughs: 'Bono called me 'the other queen of Ireland'. And that went all over the place, and everybody was saying, 'How dare he, we don't have a queen of Ireland!' 'It was all taken out context, because what he had was, before me, he had Panti Bliss on, the best drag queen in Ireland. And when Panti Bliss came on he says, 'Welcome the queen of Ireland, Panti Bliss'. And then when I came on he went, 'And the other queen of Ireland, Imelda May!' 'Well, they cut out that front bit. You can imagine the ructions that caused — the other queen of Ireland? Hang on a second! Advertisement 'But you learn and watch from these brilliant legends, Rod Stewart and Robert Plant and all of these gorgeous people that I've got to work with. You take it in like a sponge and you work really hard and then you feel like, 'Yeah, I'm all right to be here'. 'And like with this play, I've worked and worked and worked on it. I'm constantly going over the lines and putting the work in, so I think if you put the effort in and you're in a comfortable place, work extra hard with it and know your stuff, know your songs, then you get to enjoy it.'
