Podcast host Abbey Clancy has shared that she was once approached by ITV to appear in one of its shows. She however teased recently that she was snubbed by the broadcaster after agreeing to take part in the project.
Abbey, 39, announced on the latest episode of the Therapy Crouch podcast that she had been approached to appear on G'Wed. The sitcom, which launched last year, follows a group of teenagers and is set in her home city of Liverpool. The BAFTA nominated comedy was brought up on the podcast, hosted by Abbey and her husband Peter Crouch, 44, amid a discussion about Scouse representation on TV. The BBC 's This City is Ours was referenced and then G'Wed.

After the ITV2 sitcom was mentioned whilst recording the episode, Abbey shared: "They asked me to be in that." Then asked if she had declined the offer to appear on the show, she replied: "I said yeah but they never got back to me."
Abbey and Peter, who launched the podcast in 2023, were both seen laughing moments later. Whilst a producer in the background appeared to tease over the news: "Fair enough." Abbey then teased: "Come 'ed, lad. Get in touch, will ya!"
Her comments come after G'Wed returned for its second series just a few months ago. The acclaimed show, which centres on the lives of characters including Reece Duffy (played by Dylan Thomas-Smith) and Aimee Morris (Amber Harrison), launched with its first series in February last year.
The second series was released by ITV in February this year. It was announced last year that the show had been renewed for two more series following the release of the first. Writer Danny Kenny said then: "It's amazing and exciting that we get to do this again and I can't wait for series 2 and 3 next year."
And Nana Hughes, Head of Comedy ITV, praised Danny in a statement that was released at the time. Nana said amid the renewal news: "It is great to see that G'wed has resonated with our audiences across ITVX, ITV1 and ITV2!
"[Danny's] writing had us crying with laughter one second, crying real tears the next and then back to laughter. And the hugely talented cast brought so much charm and cheek to the show, we can't wait to welcome everyone back to Liverpool for a second and third series when G'wed returns in 2025."

G'Wed is among the nominees at this year's BAFTA Television Awards, which will be held at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London next Sunday. The event, broadcast by the BBC, is set to be hosted by Alan Cumming.
The Scripted Comedy category includes G'Wed as one of the nominees. It's up against Alma's Not Normal, Brassic and Ludwig for the accolade at the awards ceremony.
Whilst cast member Dylan is nominated for Male Performance in a Comedy. The actor is in the category alongside Extraordinary's Bilal Hasna, Mr Bigstuff's Danny Dyer, Kaos' Nabhaan Rizwan, Changing Ends' Oliver Savell and Smoggie Queens' Phil Dunning.

ITV Love Island fans threaten to switch off after rumbling who's already been dumped from villa

Love Island viewers have been left fuming after 'working out' which female Islander has been dumped from the villa after Shakira was tasked with stealing one of the coupled up boys. The first Love Island exit of this year's series may already be sealed as viewers think they have worked out which female islander will be brutally dumped from the villa after just 24 hours. Host Maya Jama dropped the bombshell news of a looming exit at the end of Monday's launch show. After the couples were announced in full at the beginning of the episode, a huge twist unfolded as a bombshell entered the villa and caused carnage. The American Islander was told to steal a man and leave that man's current girlfriend single. ‌ Toni chose to couple up with Ben, leaving Shakira single and at risk of being dropped from the show after just one night. That was not the last of the drama though as Maya announced a further twist. ‌ She told Shakira that she was now tasked with some serious grafting over the next 24 hours in an attempt to get to know the other boys and fight for her place in the iconic villa. In scenes that are likely to air on ITV on Tuesday evening, Shakira will pick the boy she wants to steal from another girl so that she can stay on the show. However, there is a catch. The chosen male Islander must agree to the swap, otherwise it will not happen. If Shakira choses a boy and they don't agree to the coupling up, they will remain with their current partner and Shakira will be dumped from the villa. If Shakira is successful and the swap goes through, the partner of the boy she chooses will pack their bags instead. ‌ It's understood that the scenes have already been filmed which means one female Islander has already been sent home. Love Island fans believe they have already worked out who this will be though, stating it's obvious who Shakira will choose after Alima Gagigo and Blu Chegini's awkward exchange earlier in the episode. ‌ After Alima 'blindly' chose Blu after reading his dating profile, he told her not long after that she isn't his "type on paper". Alima also expressed her disinterest as she said "I'm not feeling him" after his brutal comment. Fans believe Alima has already sadly sealed her fate after her and Blu clearly did not hit it off. ‌ They suspected it would be him that Shakira would choose and Ailma would be axed from the show. Convinced they already know who is leaving, one user wrote: "The good thing about Alima going home tomorrow is that I will focus on Love Island USA #LoveIsland." ‌ Another chimed in: "If Alima leaves. That's Love Island for me this year done. #LoveIsland." A third wrote: "Yeah it's not looking good for Alima at all. Shakira will lock in with Blu, he's the weak link so far. #LoveIsland" Someone else declared: "So Alima basically going home then #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK." Another agreed: "If Alima goes home tomorrow then that's my watching Love Island this year over #LoveIsland."

Love Island fans 'already know' who gets dumped - and it's 'not Shakira'

Love Island fans think they have worked out which Islander has been dumped from the villa in the ITV2 series, with Shakira tasked with stealing a guy from the other girls An exit may already be sealed as Love Island fans think they know which female Islander has secretly been dumped from the villa. Host Maya Jama dropped the news of a looming exit at the end of Monday's launch show. Just as the couples had been announced in full, there was an almighty twist when a bombshell entered the famous compound and caused carnage. ‌ American Islander Toni was tasked with stealing a man and leaving that man's current partner single. It was Ben who she chose to partner up with, leaving Shakira single and at risk of being dropped from the show for good. ‌ That wasn't the last of the drama though, as Maya had a further twist. She told Shakira that she now had 24 hours to do some grafting, and get to know the other boys. The next day, in scenes likely to air on Tuesday night, Shakira will pick the boy she wants to steal from another girl to keep her place on the show. There's a catch though, as the chosen male Islander has to agree to the swap otherwise it won't happen. If Shakira choses a boy and they don't agree, they will remain with their current partner and Shakira will be dumped from the villa. If Shakira is successful and it's a swap, the partner of the boy she chooses will go home instead. It's believed the scenes have already been filmed which means an Islander has already been sent packing. Viewers think they have worked out who this is though already, believing it's obvious who Shakira will choose and who gets left single. Fans do not believe Shakira will go home and that whoever she chooses will ditch their partner to be with her. Fans are now convinced a certain Islander has already left the show as a result. ‌ Taking to X, fans shared their theories after the twist aired with many convinced the same girl would be dumped in the next episode. They suspected it was Blu that Shakira would choose, and Alima who would be axed from the show in the fallout. Viewers believe the current pairing might not be into each other and that Blu will move on with newly single Shakira. One viewer feared: "I'm thinking that Alima could get dumped because neither of them wants to stay in their couple, so Shakira could take Blu off Alima's hands." ‌ Another fan agreed: "After seeing how Blu is, I'm scared Alima's gonna be dumped." A third added: "It's sad that Alima may get dumped tomorrow," while a fourth added: "The only person I see going for Shakira is Blu but then that means Alima is dumped.' The comments kept on coming as fans begged bossed not to let the Islander get dumped first. One fan wrote: "Producers are actually going to hell if Alima gets dumped." A further comment said: "Alima better not get dumped I will drop this show so fast," as another said: "Alima better not be getting dumped tomorrow is all I'm saying."

ITV Love Island fans fiercely defend Scots star Alima Gagigo after brutal coupling up comment

Love Island fans were all saying the same thing just minutes into the first episode of Love Island tonight after Scots beauty Alima Gagigo received a harsh remark from the boy she had just chosen to couple up with. Love Island kicked off its twelfth season tonight with thirteen new contestants entering the iconic villa in the hopes of finding love under the Spanish sun. Seven gorgeous girls and six handsome hunks made their debut on the ITV dating show on Monday evening as they were welcomed by host Maya Jama. Among them is Glaswegian beauty Alima Gagigo who is the only Scot on Love Island this year so far. The 23-year-old graduate, chose to blindly couple up with construction project manager Blu Chegin after being drawn to his dating profile, but it seems there is already trouble in paradise for the pair. ‌ After Maya revealed that he had been chosen by Alima, Blu made a controversial comment as he said: "Every girl looks beautiful." Maya replied to his eyebrow raising remark as she repeated: "Yes but Alima chose you." ‌ Fans at home were quick to spot the awkward moment as they took to X to fume over Blue's careless remark. Alima, having already caught viewers attention thanks to her fiery stand out Scottish accent, has already garnered support from viewers after Blu brutally told her: "You're not my type on paper." Viewers at home were left furious by his comment as one wrote: "Alima is 100% out of Blu's league. His attitude is gross. #loveisland". After Alima told Blu she's not "feeling him", another fan chimed in: "LOVE that Alima called Blu's disrespectful a** out. #loveisland." ‌ A third agreed: "Alima clocking Blu's nonsense already. Glad she's a smart girl. #loveisland" A fourth remarked: "I need Alima to couple up with someone else so I can vote blu out effective immediately." Someone else applauded Alima: "Alima knowing her worth from day 1 & not settling for Blu #loveisland #loveislanduk". ‌ Another awkwardly pointed out: "Blu said he didn't have a type in his interview but Alima is not his type on paper. #LoveIsland" However, Alima herself has also already ran into an awkward moment which did not go unnoticed by fans. After claiming she could speak Spanish, she was put on the spot and asked to show off some of her multilingual talents. ‌ Fans were left cringing by the awkward scene and branded the 23-year-old as a 'liar' as one wrote: "I don't think Alima speaks Spanish #LoveIsland." ‌ Another remarked: "Alima a damn liar about I speak Spanish #LoveIsland." A third joked: "Alima is me when I lie on my CV. Don't ask me questions", alongside two laughing emojis. Somebody else who was amused by the moment wrote: "Alima adding Spanish to her CV just cos she speak Portuguese is too funny to me", alongside a laughing emoji ‌ A fifth wrote: "Alima is giving everyone that took GSCE Spanish and can only say hello my name is, guiltyyyy #LoveIsland". However, Alima could now find herself in trouble for tomorrow night's episode after bombshell American Islander Toni walked in to the villa and decided to couple up with Ben, who was originally coupled up with Shakira, leaving Shakira single. Maya announced at the end of Monday's night episode that Shakira would need to spend the next 24 hours getting her graft on and getting to know the other boys to keep her place in the villa. ‌ In scenes that are likely to air on ITV on Tuesday evening, Shakira will select the boy she wants to steal from another girl. However, there is a catch. The chosen male Islander must agree to the swap. ‌ If Shakira choses a boy and they don't agree to the coupling up, they will remain with their current partner and Shakira will be dumped from the villa. If Shakira is successful and the swap goes through, the partner of the boy she chooses will pack their bags instead. As Alima and Blu have already hit a rough patch, could Shakira use this as an opportunity to seek out Blu and send Alima packing? Viewers will need to wait until tomorrow night to find out what happens. Love Island airs on Tuesday June 10 on ITV at 9pm.
