Kelly Osbourne says she's lost her ‘best friend' with dad Ozzy's death
'I feel unhappy, I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had,' she said on her Instagram story, quoting the lyrics of Black Sabbath song 'Changes.'
The song originally appeared on the band's 1972 album 'Vol. 4' before Ozzy and Kelly recorded a version together in 2003 with altered lyrics, changing the song from depicting a romantic breakup to a father-daughter relationship drifting apart.
Until 'The Osbournes' – the reality TV show documenting their family life – aired from 2002 to 2005, Ozzy was best known as the 'Prince of Darkness,' a pioneer of heavy metal and rock whose legendary, and controversial, antics on stage once included biting the head off a live bat. (He thought it was rubber.)
But through his interactions with his wife, Sharon, and his youngest children, Kelly and Jack, the public were introduced to his domestic side, watching him bumbling around the house and telling his children not to do drugs.
Ozzy died on Tuesday at age 76, his family announced in a statement, saying that 'he was with his family and surrounded by love.' They haven't yet announced a cause of death.
Just weeks before his death, he played his final show in Birmingham, England, where Kelly got engaged to her long-term partner, rock musician Sid Wilson.
She posted a video on Instagram of the moment that Wilson, who is part of heavy metal band Slipknot, got down on one knee and proposed in front of various family members and friends, including her parents.
In the footage, Wilson can be heard saying: 'Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world.'
Ozzy then interjects: 'F**k off, you're not marrying my daughter.'
The assembled crowd laughs before Wilson continues: 'Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you. So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?'
The couple, who have been together since at least 2022 and share a young son, Sidney, then embraced as onlookers clapped and cheered.

Other highlights: MSNBC noted that their new evening programs, The Briefing with Jen Psaki and The Weeknight have grown in the 25-54 demo since their launches in May. CNN pointed to the premiere of Live Aid: When Rock 'n' Roll Took on the World, drawing 795,000 in total viewers, the best performance for an original series premiere since February 2024, and a testament to Gen X nostalgia. Meanwhile, Fox News' daytime The Will Cain Show averaged 2.1 million viewers and 249,000 in the 25-54 demo, ranking in the top 10 among all cable news shows in total viewers and the demo, in what is turning out to be one of the year's most successful launches. Among other networks, Nexstar's NewsNation grew its total day audience by 6%, to 55,000, and its 25-54 number grew by 13% to 9,000. Coast Guard begins salvage operation and investigates cause of boat collision that killed two girls MIAMI (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard was beginning a salvage operation on Tuesday while investigating the cause of a boat collision near Miami that left two girls dead, officials said. Capt. Frank Florio, commander of U.S. Coast Guard Sector Miami, assured the victims' family members during a news conference that the Coast Guard and its partners would do everything in their power to learn what caused the crash. 'We owe you answers, and we are committed to finding them," Florio said. Officials didn't immediately identify any of the victims or release a cause for the crash. The collision between a barge and a sailboat occurred around 11 a.m. Monday in Biscayne Bay, between Miami and Miami Beach. All six people on the sailboat, a teenage sailing camp counselor and five children, ended up in the water. They were in their last week of a camp for children aged 7 to 15, according to the Miami Yacht Club. All six were pulled from the water, and four were rushed to a Miami hospital, officials said. A 7-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl were pronounced dead shortly after arriving, while two other girls, ages 8 and 11, remained in critical condition Tuesday. A 19-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl were rescued but not hospitalized. Local media and prominent TV personalities in Argentina identified the 7-year-old girl killed in the boating crash as Mila Yankelevich, the daughter of director Tomas Yankelevich and actress Sofia Reca and granddaughter of the prominent Argentine television producers Gustavo Yankelevich and Cris Morena. Marcelo Tinelli, a popular TV host and friend of the family, posted on X that he was 'devastated' by Mila's death. 'I can't believe it,' he wrote. 'My immense love to the entire family, who are part of my life.' Actor and presenter Nicolás Vázquez, currently starring in the musical 'Rocky' produced by Gustavo Yankelevich, expressed his heartbreak on Instagram. 'Mila's passing is one of those tragedies that hurts to the soul,' he wrote. Addressing Yankelevich he added: 'Even if we are not blood relatives, what we feel makes us brothers.' Cameron Boyce's mom thanks Adam Sandler for honoring son in ‘Happy Gilmore 2'
Cameron Boyce may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. The late actor was just 20 years old when he died in 2019 after experiencing an unexpected epileptic seizure in his sleep, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. At the time, Boyce was expected to appear in Adam Sandler's 2020 film 'Hubie Halloween.' Sandler included a tribute for Boyce following a blooper sequence at the end of the film. 'In loving memory of Cameron Boyce. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew,' the 2020 tribute read, according to Deadline. 'You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day,' the tribute concluded. Now five years later, Sandler is still finding ways to honor Boyce with his newest film, 'Happy Gilmore 2,' which was released July 25, per IMDB. At one point in the film, Sandler is walking up to a check-in booth with a golf bag on his shoulder. The people working the booth were watching a show on TV. The show was Disney Channel's 'Jessie,' according to People, and the the TV was playing a scene that included Boyce — who played Luke Ross in the series from 2011 to 2015. On July 28, Boyce's mom, Libby, took to Instagram to personally thank Sandler for including her son in the movie. 'Thank you (Adam Sandler) for honoring Cam's legacy in Happy Gilmore 2,' she wrote in the caption alongside a photo of the scene. She also included a photo of a younger Boyce with Sandler and a video of Sandler talking about her son during an appearance at the 2024 Cameron Boyce Foundation's 3rd Annual Cam For A Cause Gala. 'He was one of the nicest kids I've ever met, funniest kids I ever met,' he said in the interview. 'I just love talking about him and thinking of him and his parents. Proud to be here.' In a separate Instagram post, Boyce's mom shared a screenshot of a Hollywood Reporter article about her son's surprise cameo in 'Happy Gilmore 2.' In the caption, she opened up about the bond her son had with Sandler. 'Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death,' Boyce's mom wrote. 'Cameron was supposed to be in Hubies Halloween and they were strategizing.' 'They had a bond I think related to being authentic, funny and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cams memory alive which warms our heart,' she added. Sandler and Boyce first worked together in 2010 on the set of Sandler's 'Grown Ups' film, where Boyce played Sandler's on-screen son, per IMDB. Both Boyce and Sandler reprised those roles in the 2013 sequel 'Grown Ups 2.' After Boyce died, Sandler took to X (formerly Twitter) in memory of his former co-star. 'Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around,' the actor wrote at the time. 'Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken,' he added.
