Illegal off-road bikes seized in Kirklees crackdown
Since the dedicated team was formed in June 2024, they have seized more than 150 bikes and have carried out more than 2,100 prosecutions.West Yorkshire Police said these operations were part of a wider plan to improve road safety.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) in Batley and Spen and Dewsbury have patrolled surrounding areas after residents shared concerns about unsafe driving. Insp Charlotte Nicholls of the Batley and Spen NPT said: "Those who think it is somehow OK to drive or ride in an illegal and unsafe manner should know that we won't tolerate it and neither will residents living in the areas they offend in."
