Train crashes into motor at level crossing & derails leaving several injured as emergency services rush to scene
MANY people have been injured after a passenger train derailed in southern Denmark. The Copenhagen-to-Sonderborg service came off the tracks between Kliplev and Tinglev — close to Denmark's border with Germany. 1 Emergency services rushed to the scene near Tinglev as rescue operations got under way. Police in the Southern Jutland region said on X: "We are present at a train accident with several injured people near Tinglev. "We need peace and quiet at the scene and unauthorised persons must stay away from the scene." "We will announce further information via press releases as soon as possible," they added. It is still unclear exactly how many people were hurt or what caused the derailment. Police are using dogs and drones in their investigation, according to broadcaster TV2.

Gunman on loose as dad, 50, killed in drive-by shooting outside pizza takeaway – as heartbroken daughters pay tribute
COPS are hunting a gunman on the loose after a dad, 50, was killed in a drive-by shooting. Dale Stogden, known as Brett, was shot dead in Wakefield on Tuesday night. He was gunned down outside a local pizza takeaway at around 9.43pm. It is believed the fatal shots were fired from a Toyota RAV4 car, which was found abandoned on Wednesday. West Yorkshire Police have since arrested three men aged 19, 20 and 27 on suspicion of murder. They were detained this afternoon at properties in Ossett and the Lupset area. Brett's heartbroken daughters have paid tribute to their father in a statement released by the police. "We are in complete shock at the loss of our dad in such horrific violent circumstances," it read. "We will miss him, and our breakfast get togethers. We will miss his big smile. "Dad, we hope you are no longer in pain and that you can rest in peace. We will always love and miss you. "We would like to ask the person who took our dad's life so cruelly, please hand yourself in then we can have some closure and lay him to rest." Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team who is leading the investigation said: 'We are determined to get answers for Brett's family and ensure that those involved in this senseless crime are brought to justice. 'I would like to extend my thanks again to those who have already provided information to assist this investigation. I would like to reassure you that there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes and all available lines of enquiry are being followed up. 'We are continuing to appeal to any motorists who were in the Doncaster Road area of Wakefield between 9.30pm and 9.45pm to check dashcam footage. 'From our enquiries, we believe the vehicle used in this incident, the Toyota RAV4, was abandoned in Dunbar Street in the immediate aftermath of the shooting so again we are keen to speak to any motorists or others in the area who has seen anyone in the street from around 9:40pm that night.' A spokesperson for the force said: "Three men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Brett Stogden in Wakefield. "All three men have been arrested this afternoon. They are aged 19, 20 and 27, and are all from the Wakefield area. "They are currently in police custody. "They were arrested from addresses in Ossett and the Lupset area of Wakefield."

One dead in suspected gang-related Orebro shooting, Swedish police say
STOCKHOLM, Aug 15 (Reuters) - One man was shot dead on Friday in the Swedish city of Orebro in what was likely a gang-related crime, police said. A second man was injured in the attack, near the Orebro Mosque, and taken to hospital. Police declined to comment on the extent of the man's injuries. "I want to stress that currently, we don't see any connection to the mosque. On the other hand, we do see a connection to criminal groups," a police spokesperson told reporters during a news conference. At least one suspect was seen leaving the scene, though police said there had been no arrests as yet. Police said the case was being investigated as murder and attempted murder. Sweden has endured more than a decade of gang-related violence and the number of deadly shootings is among the highest in Europe. The murder rate, however, is similar to other countries. "Based on the current situation regarding the shooting in Orebro, the incident is believed to be linked to the criminal network environment," the police said in a statement without elaborating. In February, 10 students and teachers were killed in a shooting in Orebro, some 200 km (125 miles) west of Stockholm, in what became Sweden's deadliest gun attack. The perpetrator in the February shooting was a former student who also killed himself, and was not associated with criminal gangs. Investigators found no clear motive in the case.
