Janhvi Kapoor's cheat meals are full of flavor, fun, and foodie nostalgia: From pasta to momos to cholcate treats

Fitness and food often walk a tightrope in celebrity life, and Kapoor seems to have mastered the balance. Popularly known for her dedication to yoga, intense pilates routines, and a disciplined diet, the actress also firmly believes in indulging herself once in a while. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now And when she does, it's not just a bite here or a nibble there; Janhvi just goes all in. In a chat with Curly Tales, the star opened up about her guilty food pleasures and what truly excites her taste buds on a cheat day. From comforting home-cooked dishes to crowd-favourite fast foods, Janhvi's cravings are both relatable and deeply rooted in nostalgia. Let's take a closer look at the meals that bring her joy on her well-deserved breaks from clean eating. Paya – A bowl full of memories One of the most favourite dishes Janhvi mentioned when talking about her cheat meals was paya. This slow-cooked delicacy made from goat trotters is often prepared overnight, steeping in a mix of earthy spices and herbs. For Janhvi, it's not just a dish, but it's a memory. She fondly recalls having paya at home, especially during winters, when the warmth of the dish feels like a hug in a bowl. The collagen-rich broth, tender meat, and depth of flavor make it one of her ultimate comfort foods. It's hearty, satisfying and takes her back to the kind of food that doesn't care about calories, just comfort. Cheesy Pasta – A creamy carb hug Not every indulgence is rooted in tradition. Janhvi also has a strong love for cheesy pasta, especially creamy, rich versions that offer a full carb-and-cheese overload. Whether it's a classic Alfredo, a four-cheese penne, or a baked mac and cheese, she enjoys piling on the cheese and savoring every bite. For her, it's the ultimate western comfort food that is perfect for a movie night or a quiet evening at home after a hectic shoot schedule. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now It's also one of those dishes that you can't eat halfway; Janhvi goes for the full portion, no questions asked. French Fries – salty, crispy, and classic Whether she's out and about or at home, fries are her quick-fix craving. She loves them perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, ideally seasoned with just the right amount of salt. They're her go-to add-on with other meals or even a standalone cheat snack she munches on during travel or in between work breaks. Simple, addictive, and always satisfying, fries have a permanent place in her cheat day roster. Momos – her favorite street-style indulgence Among the more casual foods on Janhvi's list are momos, the beloved dumplings that have earned street food staple status in India. Steamed or fried, stuffed with juicy fillings and paired with a fiery red chutney, momos hit all the right notes for her. Janhvi enjoys them for their flavor and the nostalgia attached to them. They remind her of school days, college life, and those carefree street-side snack moments. It's one of the few things she doesn't mind waiting in line for, cheat day or not. Chocolate Desserts – A cheat meal must end on a sweet note No cheat meal is complete without dessert, and for Janhvi, it's always about chocolate. From dark chocolate bars to gooey brownies, fudge cakes, or warm chocolate lava, she craves that rich, decadent finish. She believes in savoring the sweetness slowly, making dessert a full experience. Even after a heavy meal, she finds room for something chocolatey. It's her way of rewarding herself. Junglee Mutton – her spicy, meaty craving Janhvi's cheat meals don't hold back on flavor, and junglee mutton proves that. A Rajasthani-style preparation, this dish is known for its fiery taste, minimal ingredients, and intense meatiness. Janhvi loves the no-fuss cooking technique—just whole spices, red chilies, and mutton slow-cooked to perfection. The actress admits that when she's in the mood for something bold and rustic, junglee mutton hits the spot. Janhvi Kapoor's cheat meal confessions remind us that balance is the real key to fitness. Her openness about her food cravings proves that even celebrities enjoy indulgent, flavorful meals and don't shy away from celebrating food for what it is—a source of joy, memory, and comfort.

Yeida nod to layout map of new Film City's phase I project

GREATER NOIDA The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) on Monday said it has approved filmmaker Boney Kapoor's revised layout map for Phase 1 of the Film City project in Yeida Sector 21. The consortium led by Kapoor and the Bhutani Group, Bayview Bhutani Film City Private Limited, will now develop the film institute and film studios under Phase 1 at a cost of ₹1,500 crore over five years, officials said. 'The revised layout plans are made according to approved terms and conditions. They also have all requisite approvals including fire no-objection certificate (NOC), safety certificate and comply with the approved land use plan. So we have approved the layout plans, which now paves the way for development work to begin at the site,' said Arun Vir Singh, Yeida's chief executive officer. The Film City is proposed to be built on 230 acres of which 80 acres comprise Phase 1. According to the approved land use, 155 acres are reserved for industrial purposes and 75 acres for commercial use. Of the industrial portion, 21 acres are earmarked for the film institute and 134 acres for film-related facilities, said Yeida officials. The Bayview Bhutani group had submitted its original plan on May 24. Yeida had rejected the plans on May 27 citing multiple objections, and asked them to revise the plan. Yeida said the original plan had lacked fire NOC, structure safety certificate, and violated land use, said officials. Yeida said the plan proposed alteration of designated green areas earmarked for parks, playgrounds, and multi-purpose open spaces to construct film studios with accommodations and related infrastructure. This move, officials said, was not in line with the sanctioned land use. The plan also included multiple commercial buildings such as warehouses, hotels, and staff housing within the industrial zone—another clear violation. But in the revised plan, the focus is on keeping the green area intact and first building the film institute and film studios, officials said. 'We want them first to develop film institutes and the studios so that the film training and film making work can start. Later we will allow them to focus on other areas. The authority has made it clear that no permissions will be granted for commercial developments—such as malls or resorts—until the developer completes at least 15% of the film institute and studios constructions. The green cover constitutes 15% of the total site, and the builder has kept it in the revised plan,' said Singh.

Ektaa Kapoor slams Anurag Kashyap as 'so dumb' after his rant against Netflix and ‘saas-bahu' shows

In a clash that has stirred up Bollywood's OTT circles, two creative giants, Anurag Kashyap and Ektaa R Kapoor, have found themselves at ideological loggerheads over the future of Indian streaming content . What began as a sharp comment by Kashyap on Netflix 's evolving strategy has now snowballed into a larger debate about elitism, populism, and the cultural legacy of 'saas-bahu' television dramas. The Sacred Games director's biting remarks about Netflix's co-CEO Ted Sarandos and his jab at mainstream Indian content have prompted a fiery response from Kapoor, who defended mass entertainment with passion and a few pointed words of her own. The storm was triggered when Kashyap reposted a headline quoting Ted Sarandos, who, in a conversation with Zerodha's Nikhil Kamath, suggested that Sacred Games 'perhaps shouldn't have been Netflix's first Indian original.' Sarandos implied that a more populist show might have served the platform's debut in India better. Kashyap, clearly unimpressed, responded with scathing sarcasm. 'He should have started with Saas-Bahu, he would have done well,' he posted on Instagram. The director then launched a more direct attack on Sarandos, calling "tech guys" "dumb" in the area of storytelling. Ektaa Kapoor slams Sacred Games director Kashyap's pointed remarks didn't go unchallenged. Ektaa R Kapoor, often hailed as the queen of Indian television and a strong voice in the streaming industry, responded firmly without naming Kashyap directly. Kapoor criticised Kashyap's remarks, suggesting that his tone appeared self-congratulatory and condescending, as if trying to assert intellectual superiority. She highlighted the cultural significance of 'saas-bahu' serials, pointing to a well-regarded study from Chicago that recognized their role in empowering women through mainstream Indian media. She also accused artists like Kashyap of being classist in their attitudes, despite often advocating for inclusivity in their storytelling. Her message was not just a rebuttal but a reflection on the broader dynamics of creative hierarchy in India's entertainment industry. 'We must do away with this 'you can't sit with us, we are better' attitude for democracy and fair play!' she wrote, ending her post with a note of peace: 'Love and light to all.' Ektaa Kapoor and Netflix Interestingly, Kapoor's rebuke comes just days after Netflix announced a new creative collaboration with her production house, Balaji Telefilms, on the occasion of her birthday. 'Netflix and Ektaa Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms come together in a creative collaboration to craft compelling stories across formats,' the platform posted on June 7. Kapoor also called it her 'best gift ever.'
