District Collector Orders Foolproof Arrangements for NEET UG 2025 Examination
Gadwal: To ensure the smooth and error-free conduct of the NEET UG 2025 examination in the district, District Collector B.M. Santosh has directed officials to make all necessary arrangements without leaving any room for mistakes.
A district-level coordination committee meeting regarding the NEET UG 2025 examination was held on Tuesday at the IDOC Conference Hall. Addressing the meeting, the Collector emphasized that the exam, scheduled to be held on May 4 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, must be conducted in a seamless manner ensuring that students face no inconvenience.
Recalling the allegations raised during last year's examination, the Collector stressed the need for strict measures this year to avoid any shortcomings. He informed that the exam will be conducted at three government institutions in the district: the Government Boys High School, Government Girls High School, and the Government Junior College.
A total of 1,029 candidates are expected to appear for the exam. Students will be allowed entry into the exam centers between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Biometric verification of candidates will be conducted at the centers. He instructed that students must bring their admit cards along with a valid photo ID, and strictly warned against bringing electronic devices, mobile phones, wallets, or gold jewelry into the examination centers.
The Collector further instructed that control rooms and CCTV cameras be set up at the centers, along with adequate security arrangements. He directed police officials to ensure safe transport of question papers from banks to exam centers and safe dispatch of answer sheet bundles to post offices after the exam.
Additionally, first-aid centers should be set up at the examination centers with ORS packets and essential medicines readily available. He also emphasized the importance of uninterrupted power supply, instructing the electricity department to make the necessary arrangements in advance. The Municipal Commissioner was advised to ensure availability of clean drinking water, functional toilets, and proper sanitation at all exam centers.

Highlighting the significance of the NEET exam, the Collector said that it is not only a state-level but a nationwide examination, and even a minor mistake at a single center could affect students across the country. Key officials present at the meeting included SP Srinivasa Rao, DSP Mogalaya, DEO Abdul Ghani, Chief Superintendent Devender Reddy, Electricity Department EE Ramesh Babu, Municipal Commissioner Dasharath, school principals, bank officers, and other departmental officials.

Students raise serious concerns over errors in NEET-UG papers
NEW DELHI: NEET-UG 2025, held on May 4, was conducted securely, thanks to enhanced security measures put in place by ministry of education, in coordination with state authorities. However, students and parents/guardians have raised serious concerns over errors in the question paper and delays in redressal of grievances, urging National Testing Agency (NTA) to respond quickly. The results are expected later this month. NEET-UG remains the gateway for over 20 lakh students aspiring to get into MBBS, BDS, and other UG medical courses. In Sikar and Gujarat, candidates received faulty booklets with jumbled page numbers. For example, students who received Paper Code 47 in Sikar found that pages of the question paper were not in order. In Gujarat, particularly in Jamnagar, candidates using Gujarati-medium Paper Code 48 faced the same issue. Due to incorrect sequence of pages in question paper - like question 7 being followed by question 15 - some candidates said they darkened the circle for the wrong question. Others said valuable time was lost trying to figure out the correct corresponding circles on the answer sheet. Following the exam, guardians submitted formal complaints to Gujarat govt and NTA, attaching scanned copies of the faulty booklets as proof. "Students even raised the issue during the test but were told to solve the faulty paper," a parent wrote. A state official confirmed the receipt of such complaints. NTA has declined to comment on the Sikar case, stating the matter is sub judice. Examinees and coaching experts also flagged certain questions as being beyond the medical syllabus. One example doing the rounds is question 38 of Code 47, which involved solving a calculus-based derivative - a topic more suited to engineering entrance tests like JEE (M). An NTA official said: "All questions were from the prescribed syllabus. The answer keys have been published and objections invited from candidates. These will be reviewed by a committee of subject experts". However, this does not resolve the concern about misprinted or non-sequential pages, which is a layout issue rather than a content-related one.

NEET aspirant's death: Hostel owner, caretaker booked for negligence
Kota: Kota city police registered a case of death by negligence under sections of BNS against the hostel owner and caretaker in connection with the death of a 17-year-old NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh, who had died after allegedly falling from stairs on second floor of the hostel building under Vigyan Nagar police station in Kota Sunday. The deceased teen, hailing from Vidisha in MP, came to Kota to prepare for NEET-UG around 10-15 days ago and had secured admission in a coaching institute. He was living in a hostel room in Vigyan Nagar police station area. On report by the deceased boy's father, the police registered a case of death by negligence under section of BNS against hostel owner and caretaker Sunday night, circle inspector at Vigyan Nagar police station Mukesh Meena said Tuesday. Investigation in the matter is underway, he added. The deceased boy's father alleged in the report that the hostel staff lied to him Sunday morning, informing him his son had fallen accidentally from stairs on the second floor; meanwhile, on reaching Kota, he came to know that the boy had fallen from the balcony, the police said. Deceased boy's father stated in the report that he came to Kota with his son on May 27 and enrolled him in a coaching institute to prepare for NEET-UG and rented a room on the hostel's sixth floor, where he stayed with his son till May 30. The father stated that he had told the caretaker about the absence of safety net under the balcony, but no one paid any attention to this. The teen while coming out of the hostel bathroom Sunday morning, had allegedly slipped, fell on the stairs and rolled down till the ground floor, sustaining critical injuries. He succumbed during treatment at a private hospital.

Cops to expand probe after after AIIMS student's arrest
Jaipur: City police Sunday said they are investigating the possibility of a larger exam cheating racket following the arrest of a final-year MBBS student from AIIMS Jodhpur, a medical intern, and an ayurvedic practitioner in connection with the NEET-UG 2020 impersonation case. The accused include Sachin Gaura (22), a student of AIIMS Jodhpur, Ajit Gaura (30), a medical intern at a govt college in Bharatpur, and Subhash Saini (33), an ayurvedic practitioner who has a prior record of cheating and impersonation-related offences. They were arrested on June 6. Police said Sachin allegedly paid Rs 60 lakh to Saini to facilitate the scheme, which helped him bypass the competitive entrance process and secure admission at AIIMS. The admit card for the NEET UG 2020 exam carried Ajit's photograph instead of Sachin's, allowing another individual, likely Ajit, to appear for the exam on his behalf. Sachin went on to secure 667 marks, helping him to take admission with an All-India Rank of 1,443. DCP (West) Amit Kumar said the role of Saini is central to the case and that his network of accomplices is currently being tracked.
