Surrounded by flashing cameras and shouting fans, Skenes didn't hesitate when Livvy's high heel came undone. GloRilla turns mugshot into merch at ‘1st Annual Glo Bash' event

Rising Memphis rapper GloRilla has embraced controversy and turned it into a bold branding move. At tonight's long-awaited GloRilla & Friends: 1st Annual Glo Bash—held in her hometown of Memphis—she is selling T‑shirts featuring her own mugshot as part of the official merchandise lineup. The merch rollout comes just days after GloRilla (born Gloria Hallelujah Woods) was arrested on July 22 in Forsyth County, Georgia, on felony drug charges. Police responding to a burglary at her residence reportedly found a large amount of marijuana and a Schedule I controlled substance in plain view. Woods, who was in Indianapolis performing at the WNBA All‑Star Game at the time, turned herself in and was released on $22,260 bond. Despite the legal battle, the show has gone on. Authorities confirmed the concert at FedExForum would proceed as planned. Fans have described the mugshot T‑shirts as "iconic," applauding the rapper's ability to reclaim the narrative in real time. This isn't the first time GloRilla has leaned into bold self-expression. The Glorious tour, which wrapped in July and featured guest stars like Muni Long and Rob49, cemented her reputation for fearless personal branding. Now, by turning her most viral downside into concert merch, she continues to blur lines between controversy and empowerment. As she headlines her first annual 'Glo Bash,' fans will no doubt be watching closely—both for the show and the statement-making fashion.

Wimbledon — the glitz, the glam, the hypocrisy

The writer takes interest in humanism and futurology. He has an MS from Houston and DDS from Nashville, Tennessee. He can be reached at bhasnain@ Listen to article Breakfast at Wimbledon' is a long-cherished tradition in sports. Here in America, as in London and across the globe, we can't wait to pour cream over strawberries or enjoy scones with hot tea or English muffins or even have Bangers and Mash. As the Commodores would say, "It's easy like Sunday morning." But for the die-hard tennis fans in Pakistan, it's "Dinner at Wimbledon." This year was no different. We lounged in front of our big screen TV sets. We picked our favourites. It was Carlos Alcaraz defending his title against Jannik Sinner. These two youngsters, the new kids on the block, have raised the level of competition to new heights. In an epic battle, Jannik Sinner outplayed Carlos Alcaraz defeating him in four sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, avenging his defeat in the French Open final earlier this year. A slew of Hollywood celebrities attended the final match. Keira Knightly, Matthew McConaughey and Nicole Kidman, as well as London's Mayor Sadiq Khan were seated in the Royal Box. Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, presented the trophies to the winner and the runner-up. But beyond the glitz and the glam, hidden from our view and undetected from all the camera angles, lies the shameless hypocrisy of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club that organises this tournament. In 2022, the club banned players from Russia and Belarus from participating in Wimbledon in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The ban was lifted in 2023, but in subsequent tournaments, players from Russia and Belarus have been forced to play in Wimbledon as "neutrals" as if they don't belong to any country. This includes the Russian players Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev as well as the world number one female tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, who hails from Belarus. The All-England Club justified its apparently discriminatory decision "to prevent the Russian regime from using the tournament for propaganda purposes". Supporters of the decision argued that "it was a necessary step to condemn Russia's actions and show solidarity with Ukraine." Critics of the double standard argued that "it is discriminatory to punish individual athletes for the actions of their governments." What about the tennis players from the USA and Great Britain? After all, the United States, along with its ally, Great Britain, invaded Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003 - and that too under false pretenses. Both countries have a chilling history of military interventions in foreign lands and territories. The British Empire is known to have established colonies from North America to South Africa, and beyond. In 1877, Queen Victoria imposed herself as the Empress of India. The British Empire not only stole billions (if not trillions as reported) from India, they subjected the local population to heinous and barbaric crimes. In the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre in 1919, for example, Gen Dyer who was commanding the British Indian Army ordered opening fire on a peaceful gathering of unarmed Indians who had gathered to protest against the colonial rule. Over one thousand innocent people died that day. In short, athletes from the USA and Great Britain are not to be discriminated at Wimbledon as those from Russia and Belarus. That's that.

Brazil ease past Paraguay 4-1 to reach Women's Copa America semis

Yasmim scored twice in the first half as defending champions Brazil reached the Women's Copa America semi-finals with a 4-1 victory over Group B rivals Paraguay in Quito on Tuesday. Yasmim opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a curling free kick that nestled inside the far post and she doubled Brazil's lead 12 minutes later with an almost identical effort, catching the Paraguayan keeper off guard once again. Brazil goalkeeper Lorena produced a superb save to deny a long-range strike from Claudia Martinez before Paraguay's Camila Arrieta was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on captain Marta. Brazil made their numerical advantage count with Amanda Gutierres making it 3–0 on the hour mark but a lapse in defence allowed Paraguay to pull one back in the 65th minute through the tournament's leading scorer Martinez, who notched her fifth goal of the competition. However, any hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Duda Sampaio restored Brazil's three-goal lead with a composed finish in the 75th minute. 'I'm very happy for the goals but above all for the result and for the victory,' Yasmim said at the Estadio Gonzalo Pozo Ripalda. Barcelona set for historic All-Star clash with Liga MX Femenil's finest 'We are very happy for the qualification to the semis. We have many aspects that we know we can improve. We have to keep working and giving our all for this shirt.' Brazil remain unbeaten in Group B and will face Colombia in their final group-stage fixture on Friday - a rematch of the previous edition's final. 'Colombia are a very strong team, we know it will be difficult,' Yasmim added. 'This match is like a derby, we have to prepare ourselves in the best way to face them.'
