Domestic dispute turns violent as man attacked by partner's ex and two others in Puchong
SUBANG JAYA, May 24 — A man is in serious condition after a violent attack by three individuals, including the ex-husband of his partner, at an apartment in Taman Puchong Intan early this morning.
According to New Straits Times (NST), Subang Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent Mohd Fairus Jaafar said the incident was reported at 2.15am when a woman contacted authorities, claiming her partner had been assaulted and slashed by her former spouse along with two other men.
'Preliminary investigations found that the victim has been living with the former wife of one of the suspects at the residence,' the police was quoted as saying.
The victim was reportedly assaulted with a knife and an iron rod after his partner's ex-husband and two other men arrived at the residence. He had multiple injuries to his head and body.
Mohd Fairus told NST that all three suspects, aged between 30 and 40, have been identified and that police believed the assault was fuelled by jealousy and domestic conflict. Efforts to track down and apprehend the suspects are currently underway.
The victim was rushed to Sultan Idris Shah Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt using dangerous weapons.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Subang Jaya District Control Centre at 03-7862 7222 or reach out to Inspector Dinesh Ganasan directly at 011-3309 4457.

‘Everyone thought I was on the bus': Student stunned after name appears on list of victims in deadly UPSI bus crash
KOTA BARU, June 9 — A last-minute change of plans saved one Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) student from a nightmare bus ride that has claimed the lives of 15 people today. Alia, a first-year student, had returned to her hometown but decided to travel back to UPSI last Thursday and celebrate Aidiladha on campus due to personal reasons, Berita Harian reported. 'I was supposed to celebrate Aidiladha in Setiu, Terengganu, and return to campus on that bus last night, but I changed my plans and went back to Sultan Idris Education University earlier instead. 'Then at around 3am today, I was shocked to hear that the bus carrying UPSI students – which I was supposed to be on – was involved in a crash that killed 15 people,' she was quoted as saying. She said that she received a barrage of calls from people who thought she was on the bus. She was further taken aback to find out that her name was listed among the bus passengers involved in the 1am accident on the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding, Perak. 'I was stunned and speechless when I found out my friends were involved in the crash. 'In fact, many people thought I was on that bus because my name was there,' she told the Malay newspaper. She said all the victims onboard were from Besut and Setiu in Terengganu. A bus carrying UPSI students and a Perodua Alza multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) collided on the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding, Gerik, early this morning, killing 15 people and injuring others. The Civil Defence Force had earlier confirmed the collision involved a total of 48 people. Several crash victims have been rushed to Gerik Hospital for treatment. The fate of the MPV occupants is yet unclear. Recommended reading:

15 dead after bus carrying UPSI students crashes in Gerik
The bus had been travelling from Jerteh, Terengganu, to Tanjung Malim, Perak, when the accident took place. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : At least 15 people were killed in an accident between a Perodua Alza and a bus carrying students from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) early this morning. The collision took place on the Gerik-Jeli East West Highway, near Tasik Banding. It is understood that the bus had been travelling from Jerteh, Terengganu, to Tanjung Malim, Perak, Bernama reported. The Hulu Perak Civil Defence Force operations control centre said it received a call about the incident from Gerik Hospital at 1.10am. 'Upon arrival at the location, it was discovered that the bus had overturned in the collision with a Perodua Alza MPV,' it said in a statement quoted by Bernama. A total of 48 victims were involved. Of these, 13 died at the scene and two others at the hospital. Four others were injured. Perak fire and rescue department director Sayani Saidon said the bus and the MPV had been travelling in the same direction from Jeli, Kelantan, to Gerik. She said the crash caused the bus to overturn and the MPV to skid into a ditch. 'Some victims managed to exit the vehicle on their own and some were thrown out, while others remained trapped inside the bus. 'The operations commander cut open the rear section of the bus using hydraulic tools to create a working space,' she was quoted as saying by Bernama. She added that six victims were subsequently found still inside the bus. She said the injured victims were stabilised by personnel from the fire department and handed over to the health ministry for further treatment. Bernama also quoted UPSI deputy vice-chancellor (student affairs and alumni) Norkhalid Salimin, who said most of the passengers on the bus were students returning to campus after the Aidiladha break. 'They had gathered in Jerteh and chartered a private bus to return to campus after celebrating the festive break in their hometowns,' he said.
