Dismay over ‘unfair treatment' in alliance dynamics
Rajamahendravaram: As the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) prepares for its upcoming Mahanadu in Kadapa district, discontent is surfacing among senior leaders over what they describe as 'unfair treatment' under the pretext of the party's alliances. During the district and constituency-level Mini Mahanadu meetings being held ahead of the main event, several long-standing TDP leaders have voiced their frustrations openly from the stage.
Senior leaders allege that party veterans who have carried the TDP flag since its inception are being sidelined without due recognition. They warned that continued negligence towards grassroots cadres and senior workers could damage the party's long-term prospects.
A key grievance raised was that in the seat-sharing arrangement with alliance partners Jana Sena and BJP. Many TDP strongholds, both Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, were allocated to the allies. Some leaders of TDP say that those parties are allegedly attempting to dismantle TDP's organisational structure in those areas. In the Kakinada district, TDP leaders criticised Jana Sena candidates for disregarding the efforts of TDP workers who contributed significantly to their electoral victories. At the Mini Mahanadu meetings held in Rajamahendravaram and Kakinada, several leaders echoed this sentiment. In the Kakinada session, Jaggampeta MLA Jyothula Nehru expressed his disappointment, stating that a review of the posts allocated in the district would reveal which party suffered injustice. He questioned how one leader could receive two positions, allegedly referring to a Jana Sena member, while Minister Lokesh insisted on one post per person.
Nehru warned that such decisions were fuelling dissatisfaction and demoralisation among TDP ranks. Kakinada TDP president Jyothula Naveen also sparked controversy by criticising the party for not appointing an in-charge for the Kakinada Rural constituency. He asserted that the TDP cadre was primarily responsible for the Jana Sena's significant victory margin there.
In Rajamahendravaram, tensions rose after the absence of senior TDP leader and Politburo member Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary's photo on a party flexi banner during the Mini Mahanadu event. His supporters strongly objected, calling it a clear act of disrespect towards a leader who has been with the party since its inception. The matter was settled only after a new flexi featuring Butchaiah's image was put up.

Later, Minister Gottipati Ravi kumar visited Janakavaram village, offering financial support to a deceased farmer's family and met several families of TDP workers across Addanki constituency. In Tamavaram village, he extended aid to the family of a party worker who died in an accident.

Own responsibility of protecting trees: Gottipati
Addanki: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has emphasised that everyone bears the responsibility of planting and protecting trees. He participated in the Vanamahotsavam programme organised by the state government for World Environment Day and planted saplings at Chandaluru in J Pangaluru mandal on Thursday. Speaking at the event, Ravi Kumar stated that environmental protection is everyone's responsibility and called upon each individual to plant at least one tree as their contribution. He advised everyone to develop an attachment to plants and trees. He criticised the previous government, alleging that hundreds of trees were cut down during former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's tours. He highlighted that the coalition government led by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu gives high priority to public health and forest conservation. He said the government's commitment to environmental protection and called upon everyone to take inspiration from CM Chandrababu Naidu's initiative of planting one crore trees as part of Vanamahotsavam, urging people to organise tree plantation programmes like festivals in every village. Following the tree plantation programme, Minister Gottipati visited Janakavaram village in Panguluru mandal to console the family of a farmer who had recently passed away. He provided financial assistance to the farmer's family members and assured that the coalition government would stand by the farmers in their times of need. Later, he visited the family of Venkata Rao, a TDP worker from Tammavaram village in Korisapadu mandal, who had recently died in an accident. Minister Gottipati consoled the bereaved family members and provided them with financial assistance. The Minister emphasised the importance of every Telugu Desam Party worker taking party membership to become eligible for insurance coverage benefits. He explained that this would ensure financial security for party workers and their families during difficult times.

MLA Sunitha urges public to avoid cutting down trees
Pampanoor: 'Cutting down trees is easy, but growing them is a true challenge,' said Rapthadu MLA Paritala Sunitha, urging people to rethink their actions on World Environment Day. She participated in a large-scale tree plantation programme at the Pampanur Urban Forest in Atmakur mandal, along with District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar, CFO Yashodabai, and DFO officials. As part of the event, around 400 saplings were planted and watered. MLA Sunitha emphasized the importance of environmental preservation and said that every planted sapling should grow into a mighty tree. The event promoted the message: 'Let's plant trees, eliminate plastic pollution, and pass on a greener planet to future generations.' She added that under the vision of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, a target of planting one crore trees has been set across Andhra Pradesh, with 3.8 lakh planned for Anantapur district alone. Highlighting past negligence, she recalled how the Pampanur Urban Forest near Subrahmanyeswara and Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temples was originally developed as a tourism hub during the previous TDP government with the CM's support, but was neglected over the past five years. She called on forest officials to submit a report to restore and develop the park for devotees and tourists. She suggested that even the Electricity Department could reroute lines instead of cutting large trees and called for accountability from officials.
