Albania EURO 2024 Star To Miss AC Milan Vs Inter Milan Coppa Semifinal First Leg Through Suspension
This is confirmed by the Italian Sporting Justice, via FCInterNews. The Albanian will serve a one-match ban in the match after picking up a yellow card against Lazio on Tuesday.
Inter Milan will be in the semifinals of the Coppa Italia this season.
The Nerazzurri advanced to the next round with a 2-0 quarterfinal win over Lazio on Tuesday.
Inter will face city rivals AC Milan in the semifinals. Therefore, the two legs of that tie will be the fourth and fifth derbies of the season.
Therefore, the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal will be played on April 2nd.
There will be one Inter player who's guaranteed to miss that match, however.
Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani started in the quarterfinal against Lazio this week.
The 22-year-old picked up a booking. He saw yellow for a late challenge on Biancocelesti captain Mattia Zaccagni in the first half.
And Kristjan Asllani had also gone into the book in the round of sixteen win over Udinese.
Therefore, the Albanian international will miss the first leg against Milan.

Chivu Admits ‘I Feel The Burden Of Responsibility' Ahead Of Inter Milan Vs Torino Serie A Opener
Cristian Chivu says that he feels the 'burden of responsibility' ahead of Inter Milan's Serie A opener against Torino. The 44-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, just a few days before the Nerazzurri kick off their league campaign. He also praised striker Ange-Yoan Bonny. Inter Milan are just a few weeks away from the start of their Serie A season. The Nerazzurri kick off their campaign against Torino on Monday. They host the Granata at the San Siro in their first match of the season. This will be the first Serie A match in charge of Inter for new coach Cristian Chivu. Meanwhile, some new faces who have arrived during the summer transfer window will also have a chance to make their debuts. Inter came agonizingly close to winning the Serie A title last season. However, they lost out by just a single point to Napoli on the final day of the campaign. Therefore, Chivu will have the task of trying to return Inter to the summit of Italian football in his first season at the helm of the club with whom he spent six years as a player. Chivu: 'I Feel Responsibility' Ahead Of Inter Serie A Opener Vs Torino MONZA, ITALY – AUGUST 12: FC Internazionale coach Cristian Chivu looks on before the Pre-season Friendly match between AC Monza and FC Internazionale at U-Power Stadium on August 12, 2025 in Monza, Italy. (Photo by) Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu said that as far as his feelings about the start of the season, 'I don't talk about my emotions.' 'I'm good at hiding them,' he said, then joked 'and at not having them.' 'Obviously, coaching the team where I've spent a long time and won so much gives me something extra.' 'I'm sure the burden of responsibility I feel here will be able to hide my feelings,' Chivu said. 'We try to maintain the same mentality. The same perception of the importance of being an Inter player.' The coach declared that 'there are expectations, passion, and love.' Meanwhile, Chivu called Inter striker Ange-Yoan Bonny 'a pure young guy.' 'He's someone who wants to improve,' the 44-year-old added. 'He's at a big club, and he's understood that right away by working hard from day one.' Chivu praised Bonny for 'immediately making himself available to the group.' 'Having top players around you allows you to grow quickly,' the Inter coach added.

Swiss international Okafor move to Leeds heralds new EPL record
Noah Okafor's reported £18 million ($24 million) fee Leeds United paid AC Milan on Thursday means English Premier League clubs have spent more than the previous record in a single transfer window. The money spent on the 25-year-old Swiss international, who signed a four-year deal, takes the total outlay by the clubs to £2.37 billion, passing the previous mark of £2.36bn in the summer of 2023. That total will only grow as there is still over a week to go before the transfer window closes. Okafor, capped 24 times, made his name at Austrian side RB Salzburg, winning four league titles, before joining Milan and played a minor role in Napoli's Scudetto triumph last term after being sent on loan there. "As a kid, I dreamed of playing in the Premier League. That's why for me it was quite an easy decision," said Okafor on the club website. "My football suits the Premier League, this is like a dream come true. I can't wait to step on the field. "I heard that the Premier League is the best league in the world, it's so intense. I have loads of friends that played there or are playing there. "I am ready for this new challenge." Okafor, who is reunited with former Salzburg teammate Brenden Aaronson and fellow Swiss Isaac Schmidt, said he had his breath taken away when Milan played Leeds in a pre-season friendly at Lansdowne Road in Dublin. "I was like, why are there so many fans in a friendly game? "And then I saw on the screen it was like 50,000. So I was like, wow. "And it was quite loud, but I heard in the stadium (Elland Road), the atmosphere should be crazy." Okafor is Leeds's ninth signing since they won the second tier Championship to return to the Premier League after a two-year hiatus. They travel to one of the title favourites Arsenal on Saturday on the back of beating Everton 1-0 in their opening match. The Gunners, who beat Manchester United 1-0 in their season opener, have not lost at home to Premier League newboys since a 1-0 reverse at the hands of Newcastle in November, 2010. Should Arsenal avoid defeat on Saturday, they would equal the Premier League's longest such run, with Chelsea racking up 43 between 2001 and 2015. pi/bsp
