BJP president questions govt. for not acting against politicians, contractors responsible for Kaleshwaram project lapses
Telangana State party president and former MLC N. Ramchander Rao also questioned why the Congress government has not arrested 'politicians' and 'contractors' involved in the project construction and maintenance lapses after arresting 'some officials' only.
'It is because of a nexus between the ruling Congress and BRS' he asked, while addressing the media at Sirpur Kagaznagar in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district as part of his ongoing tour. Mr. Rao has asserted that the party has never opposed projects that benefits the farmers but had opposed the corruption in Kaleshwaram project. The BRS leaders, including former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and family, had used the project as an 'ATM' and misused thousands of crores of rupees, he alleged.
Poor quality of construction has led to cracks in the Medigadda barrage and other works. The National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) had clearly pointed out to the design flaws and quality deficiencies, said the BJP leader.
The former MLC also wanted the State government to consider construction of a separate project at the confluence of Wardha and Wainganga rivers near Tummadihatti to solve the water shortage of the region and irrigate about 2.5 lakh acres.
If the Congress government prepares a detailed project report (DPR) and sends the same to the Central government for approval, there would be total cooperation, he said. The BJP leader said the Congress government is no different from the previous regime and has been diverting the funds disbursed by the Centre for development of villages for other purposes.
The Centre is prepared to approve an airport in Asifabad district if the State government provides the land, he assured and explained that national highway projects worth ₹3,900 crore have been initiated in the area. Replying to a question on 'Operation Akarsh' the BJP chief said politicians are 'voluntarily' approaching the party since they consider it to be the only alternative in Telangana.

1,00,250 vote chori: Rahul Gandhi's presentation at INDIA bloc dinner meet
In a show of unity and strategic planning, nearly 50 senior leaders of the Opposition-led INDIA bloc gathered over a high-profile dinner diplomacy event on Thursday. At the event, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, presented what he described as 'concrete evidence' of widespread electoral rigging, directly accusing the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP to manufacture a victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha the core of the event was a detailed presentation by Rahul Gandhi titled 'Democracy Destroyed,' in which he briefed the INDIA bloc leadership on alleged booth-level electoral frauds. The presentation was briefed to nearly 50 top INDIA bloc leaders during a high-level strategy meeting, and later to the press at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi. The detailed expos, based on months of data analysis, spotlighted alleged manipulation in the Mahadevpura Assembly segment of the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency, where over 1,00,250 fake votes were created. The Congress leader asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi owes his position to just 25 Lok Sabha seats won by margins of under 33,000 votes, and that rigging in specific constituencies had tilted the final outcome. 'This is not just electoral malpractice—it's a crime against the Indian Constitution,' he declared. Rahul Gandhi's presentation formed the basis for a consensus to launch a march to the Election Commission of India (ECI) on August 11. This planned march will serve as the coalition's formal protest and demand for electoral dinner meeting, which brought together top brass from various INDIA bloc allies, was also crucial in setting the narrative for the upcoming electoral battles. The alliance resolved to target what they described as 'election frauds' through intensified booth-level strategy and mobilisation. Top brass leaders at INDIA bloc dinner event. THE MAHADEVPURA CASEThe heart of Gandhi's allegations lies in the Mahadevpura segment, where he claimed the BJP secured an inflated lead of 1,14,046 votes, helping it narrowly win the Bengaluru Central seat by 32,707 votes. In contrast, Congress led in most other segments of the constituency. Rahul Gandhi's presentation 'Democracy Destroyed.' He also claimed the EC changed the law to limit scrutiny by political PATTERN, NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENTRahul Gandhi linked the anomalies in Mahadevpura to broader irregularities in states like Maharashtra and Haryana. In Maharashtra alone, he noted, one crore new voters were added between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, raising suspicions. He pointed out unusual voting spikes after 5 pm on polling day, despite visibly low footfall at booths. advertisement'The Opposition suspected something was wrong, especially when the BJP outperformed exit polls and anti-incumbency trends. But now we have the proof,' he said, adding that the evidence supports the INDIA bloc's long-standing PLAN: MARCH TO ECI, BIHAR YATRAIn response to the revelations, INDIA Bloc leaders unanimously agreed to launch a two-pronged political response:A joint march to the Election Commission on August 11, to formally submit evidence and demand accountability.A statewide MGB Yatra in Bihar, beginning August 17 and ending September 1 in Patna, to mobilise public support and expose what the bloc is calling a 'democratic hijack.'The Bihar yatra will be led by Rahul Gandhi and is expected to be a key platform for the INDIA bloc's campaign to rebuild public trust in the electoral process. While the focus will remain on alleged electoral fraud, the yatra will also address grassroots issues and seek to strengthen booth-level Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani ruled out any boycott of upcoming elections, saying, 'We have trust in democracy. 'Father's name dfojgaidf; house no. 0': Inside Rahul Gandhi's 'atom bomb proof' of vote rigging in Karnataka
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday finally dropped the "atom bomb" of "proof" to substantiate his series of allegations against the Election Commission of India facilitating "vote theft" in an Assembly constituency in Karnataka. Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi, Gandhi took the reporters through an online presentation of the 2024 Lok Sabha poll data analysed by the Congress to claim that over 1 lakh votes were "stolen" in the Mahadevapura Assembly segment in the Lok Sabha constituency of Bangalore Central through five types of manipulation techniques. "For some time now, there has been suspicion among millions of Indians based on a couple of points. Anti-incumbency is something that hits every single party in every democracy. But the BJP seems to be the only party in a democratic framework that is magically immune to anti-incumbency," the Congress leader said. "There is always a reason given by media for this lack of anti-incumbency, for opinion & exit polls going way off the mark, and for huge & unexpected victory margins for BJP. And these reasons are multiple – 'Ladli Behna' scheme, Pulwama attack, etc..." he added. Citing 2024 Lok Sabha poll data, Gandhi pointed out that the BJP secured 6,58,915 votes in the Bangalore Central seat, winning with a margin of 32,707. "In the Mahadevapura assembly segment, the Congress received 1,15,586 votes, whereas the BJP garnered 2,29,632 votes. The Congress won all the Vidhan Sabhas except Mahadevapura, where the BJP swept and secured a victory margin of 1,14,046 votes. This seat significantly contributed to their election win, and the Lok Sabha result went in their favour on that seat," he said. "This discrepancy is a huge imbalance. So, we started examining the details and discovered that approximately 1,00,250 votes were stolen in the Mahadevapura assembly," he claimed. Gandhi alleged there was a theft of 1,00,250 votes in the Mahadevapura segment, with 11,965 duplicate voters, 40,009 with fake and invalid addresses, 10,452 bulk voters or single-address voters, 4,132 voters with invalid photos and 33,692 voters misusing Form 6 of new voters.
