Watch Beyoncé's Daughter Rumi Make Her Adorable Stage Debut on the Cowboy Carter Tour

Yahoo02-05-2025
Blue Ivy Carter wasn't the only one of Beyoncé's children to take the stage with the singer during the opening night of the Cowboy Carter Tour. Blue's sister, 7-year-old Rumi, made her performance debut as well.

Rumi appeared with Blue while Beyoncé performed 'Protector' at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Clad in a gold minidress, Rumi hugged her mother during the sweet moment. Beyoncé's decision have her daughters join her during 'Protector' is especially significant, as she reflects on her role as a mother in the track. A snippet of Rumi saying, 'Mom, can I hear the lullaby, please?' opens the song on the album.
At this point, Rumi's twin brother, Sir, is the only one of Beyoncé's children yet to join the singer onstage. But with the Cowboy Carter Tour running for 32 stops across North America and Europe until July 26, there are still plenty of opportunities for Sir to have his big moment. (It's not too late to get concert tickets either; see how to purchase here.)
Beyoncé has made a point to protect her children's privacy despite her fame. In September, she told GQ, 'One thing I've worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn't turned into a brand. It's very easy for celebrities to turn our lives into performance art. I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family. No amount of money is worth my peace.'
She spoke about the care she has taken to build her work schedule around her children. 'I try to only tour when my kids are out of school,' she said. 'I always dreamt of a life where I could see the world with my family and expose them to different languages, architecture, and lifestyles.'
'Raising three kids isn't easy,' she added. 'The older they get, the more they become their own individuals with unique needs, hobbies, and social lives. My twins are God-sent. Parenting constantly teaches you about yourself. It takes a lot of prayer and patience. I love it. It's grounding and fulfilling.'

‘Together' Stars Alison Brie and Dave Franco in a Darkly Twisted Love Story—Here's How to Watch

Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. Real-life couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco co-star in Together, an audacious body‑horror romance from Australian director Michael Shanks. The film, out in theaters today, follows longtime partners Millie and Tim after they move to the countryside—and a supernatural begins to take over. Shanks has said the movie's high‑concept hook came from a deeply personal place. 'I've only ever wanted to make stuff that has a high concept premise to it. Something where you can kind of sum up in a couple of sentences and go, 'Oh, I haven't seen that movie before,'' he told The AU Review. 'I thought it could be a body horror film, which is a genre I love,' Shanks added. 'I thought it would be a lot of fun to explore and really satisfy the genre freak filmmaker in me.' But the story also includes 'my own kind of personal, emotional truth and specificity of what it feels like to fall in love and share a life with somebody,' he said. 'And not just from my own relationship, but from relationships of people that I've observed.' Casting Brie and Franco wasn't just a stunt, but integral to bringing the film to life. 'Physically, there was stuff we were doing every day that we truly finished every day of filming, going, 'We couldn't do this with anyone else,'' Brie said told Moviefone. In the same interview, Franco recalled meeting Shanks and reading the Together script for the first time. 'I read it, and I was just like, 'This is one of the most innovative scripts I've ever read,' he said. 'These set pieces are unbelievable.' I turned to Alison, and I was like, 'I think we should do this together, because our real relationship could help inform these characters in the movie, who have been together for over a decade, and hopefully we could add some real kind of history and weight to that relationship.'' Although Neon has yet to announce an official streaming date for Together, the film is expected to eventually hit Hulu, given Neon's partnership with the streaming platform. Past Neon films, like Anora, have also landed on the platform. Until then, you can catch the movie on the big screen. GET TICKETS

‘Project Runway' is back with two New England hopefuls

'Get ready for lots of laughs, lots of tears,' she said. Advertisement This season, model Heidi Klum returns as host, alongside her new cohost, season 4 winner Christian Siriano They'll be joined by a judging panel made up of returning judge Nina Garcia, Elle editor-in-chief, as well as stylist Law Roach, who's known for his work with stars including Zendaya and Anya Taylor-Joy. The classic structure, with contestants battling each episode to win challenges, avoid elimination, and ultimately snatch the career-defining season win, also returns. Get Starting Point A guide through the most important stories of the morning, delivered Monday through Friday. Enter Email Sign Up Both Malenfant and Rosa agreed that this season was rigorous and taught them lessons about time management. 'It was a lot of work,' Rosa said. 'No sleep, but the best part about it is I got to meet amazing designers like Madeline, and I built a true friendship with all the other cast members. So, overall, I think it was a great opportunity.' Advertisement While everyone pursued design through different avenues and aesthetics, their similar goals automatically made them all connect, Malenfant said. Rosa, a streetwear designer, has been interested in fashion since middle school, when he created custom jeans for other kids based on sneakers that were coming out. However, he said he moved out of Rhode Island to New York in part because Rhode Island didn't have a large fashion scene. 'There was only certain people that would want to express themselves in a fashionable way,' Rosa said. 'So, that's the main reason why I was like, I need to move to New York, where I'm surrounded by it daily.' Now, he's the head designer of lifestyle brand Cult of Individuality. Malenfant said she came from a 'very concentrated style zone' that makes her associate New England with a preppy aesthetic and 'to say that I'm not influenced by that would be kind of a lie, just because I am really surrounded by it.' However, Malenfant's work draws inspiration from other areas. In 2021, Malenfant started her clothing brand after deciding that a career in costume design, for which she'd earned an MA at the London College of Fashion, wasn't for her. Her designs take inspiration from vintage aesthetics and the Elizabethan era. While audiences haven't had the opportunity to see all of their work yet, Malenfant and Rosa said the response has been positive. 'I didn't realize how much of a support system I had outside of my friends,' Rosa said. 'To see [other people] supporting me and wishing me the best — it's actually comforting.' As the show premieres, Rosa hopes this season inspires kids not to give up on their dreams and to continue 'old school fashion, where you create patterns and sew and dye.' Advertisement Malenfant said she hopes the season helps people have more confidence in their own abilities to pursue their passions . 'I want to inspire the people who maybe don't think that they can [design], to get out there and just put yourself out there, because it is difficult, but it's rewarding,' Malenfant said. PROJECT RUNWAY Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Freeform, and the next day on Hulu and Disney+, with regular streaming at 10 p.m. after the premiere episodes.
