Hand over Gavisiddappa's murder case to NIA: BJP
Vijayendra, who raised the issue during Zero Hour on Wednesday, said Gavisiddappa was in a relationship with a girl from another community. The person from the girl's community had posted a photo of the weapon on his social media a day before killing him in Koppal on August 3.
'But the police did not take any action. Only after there were protests and a bandh was called, the accused were arrested after three days,' he said. On Wednesday, BJP members also handed over a memorandum to Governor Thawaarchand Gehlot urging him to direct the state government to hand over the probe to the NIA.
The BJP delegation also sought the governor's approval to prosecute and initiate an investigation against Energy Minister KJ George in the alleged smart meter tender scam.
They alleged that George, in collusion with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) officials, committed numerous violations in the smart meter tender.

PM to inaugurate projects worth ₹11,000 crore to boost Delhi's connectivity today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major national highway projects worth ₹11,000 crore in Rohini on Sunday. The projects — the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway — aim to decongest the Capital and improve connectivity, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta termed UER-II a 'historic gift' for the city and said that it would not only move Delhi closer to becoming traffic-free but also strengthen connectivity across the National Capital Region. Ms. Gupta inspected the venue in Rohini Sector 37, where the inauguration is scheduled to take place. She said the UER-II would reduce the travel time from the Singhu border, which connects Delhi with Haryana, to the IGI Airport from two hours to around 40 minutes. Meanwhile, the Congress hit out at the BJP-led Centre over the 'high' toll tax on the UER-II. Delhi Congress spokesperson Naresh Kumar claimed that the toll tax in Delhi is higher than in the neighbouring States of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. He demanded a reduction of toll charges by at least 50%.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was not AIADMK to be afraid of Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids. Speaking at the CPI State conference titled 'Velga Jananayagam', the Chief Minister said the Union government was threatening the leaders of the Opposition parties, and referred to the ED raid at Minister I. Periyasamy's house on Saturday. 'We are not Edappadi K. Palaniswami to form an alliance with the BJP immediately after raids are conducted in relatives' houses. The DMK has faced many revengeful acts like this. Tamil Nadu people have political awareness, and they will defeat the BJP. Later, the Chief Minister reached Dharmapuri district, and participated in a road show from Adiyamankottai to Travellers Bungalow near the Collectorate.
