‘Far too casual for a wedding' people say as guest proudly shows off her ‘picnic' dress with flip-flops

A FASHIONISTA has come under fire after showing off her wedding guest outfit trolls insist is ''too casual''.
Wedding season has well and truly arrived, which means many people have been taking to social media to share their stylish frocks and gowns.
2
Amongst them is also TikToker Rosie Ridgers who recently attended '' a casual wedding '' and was dressed fit for the occasion.
The brunette beauty, who now lives in Barcelona, Spain, was deciding between four different picks - an adorable Gingham maxi dress, a flattering dress in pastel yellow, a gorgeous satin pink skirt teamed with a light yellow waistcoat, as well as as maxi lace number in pink and yellow.
However, despite being told by social media critics that the red and white Gingham dress was ''too casual'', it was this option Rosie went with.
In the follow-up clip before the romantic ceremony, the style lover modelled the cute sleeveless dress that she had paired with a white pearl necklace, a chic updo, as well as some golden jewellery.
Yet it was the choice of footwear that seemed to cause the most uproar in the comments - as Rosie decided to do rock comfy black flip-flops.
All chuffed with the final look, she wrote: ''The wedding guest dress that you all called 'too casual'.
''Do you still agree?''
'Flip flops for wedding is wild'
But while Rosie looked stunning - and was comfortable - keyboard warriors weren't sure if the final outfit was fit for a wedding.
The clip, posted under the username @ rosieridgers, has since racked up more than 173k views in less than 24 hours, with over 90 people flooding to comments.
One person thought: ''it's super cute but 1000% too casual. this is like a brunch or picnic or just summer weekend look.''
Frankie Bridge slammed by fans again for SHEER wedding guest dress that's 'too much' and will 'upstage the bridge'
Meanwhile, someone else said that Rosie's decision to sport flip-flops at a wedding was ''wild''.
Another agreed, writing: ''Maybe just add a strappy heel (even a low one)... The flip flops are defo too casual (certainly for a day 1).''
A fourth chimed in sharing how they'd make the cute ensemble more ''wedding-appropriate'' in their eyes.
''Sweet kitten heel would have made this wedding appropriate. Flip flops would not be my choice.''
''cute but casual, makes me think of those gingham dresses used to wear to primary school,'' commented a viewer.
Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette
If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble.
Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom.
Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided.
Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream - even if it's not.
Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered.
Wearing white is a massive no-no if you're not the bride.
'It was such a casual wedding'
After being slammed in the comments, Rosie hit back at the critics, ordering them to ''relax''.
''Guys, this is a bit of a wind up, it was such a casual wedding! And I knew that going into it, they wanted everyone to be extra comfortable & happy during the evening!
''It was such a special way to organise it and I knew some of you would debate it in the comments BUT some of you are taking it too far.

I DIY-ed a ‘professional' level kids' birthday cake for less than £25 using Amazon & eBay buys – I didn't bake a thing

She didn't realise how much she would enjoy the transformation CAKE-OVER I DIY-ed a 'professional' level kids' birthday cake for less than £25 using Amazon & eBay buys – I didn't bake a thing A MUM has been praised after showing how she transformed a supermarket kids' birthday cake into a "professional" level masterpiece. Ellena, a mum-of-three, wanted something special to mark daughter Gabriella's big day, at a party they were throwing for her and her school friends. She took to TikTok to share a look at the process, which she began with a mermaid cake she'd picked up from Tesco for £16. Ellena began with some edible glitter dust, which she sprinkled over the top of the cake for some "extra sparkle". Next up, some "mermaid sprinkles" from Amazon. Advertisement "You get mermaid tails, you get mermaid shells, beads, you get loads of little different bits in the bottle," Ellena said. "I also put all the colorful beads all the way round like a rainbow type just to make it a little bit different," she said. As the transformation continued, she admitted it made her consider a career change. "This is when I realised that I was actually really enjoying it and just thought to myself, hold on, can I start making cakes?!" Advertisement For a finishing touch, Ellena popped in a personalised topper she'd bought from eBay. "Here it is - her fifth birthday cake from Tesco with a personalised touch," she said. "And I'm actually pretty proud of myself. I think this mummy did pretty well with this cake guys!" "How to turn a shop cake into a professional cake for under £25!" Ellena captioned her video. Advertisement This is so pretty mum," one person commented on the clip. "I'm 33 in 1 week - I might buy this cake for myself! "I want it haha, Well done to you for making a beautiful effort for your girl!" "Looks amazing!" a third commented. Advertisement "You did such a good job," another gushed. Ellena could also guarantee that the cake was going to be delicious, with Tesco saying of it on their website: "Vanilla flavour sponge layered with frosting and raspberry jam, topped with frosting and lustered white chocolate decorations. "Magical mermaids are brought to life in this vanilla flavour sponge cake with under the sea coloured frostings. "Hand topped with lustered white chocolate decorations." Jaci Smith, from the US, had purchased the home, but the previous owners begged her not to change a thing. Some might assume the house must be of historical relevance or decorated lavishly to make the previous owners not want it to be changed. But Jaci showed that wasn't the case when she shared a picture of the bathroom. She said: "I post about the fact that the previous owners of the house we bought were begging us not to renovate the house, not to make any changes to it. "Number one, I think people assume it's rage bait. I wish it was number two, I think people also assume that the house that we bought is like a mid-century gem a house with so much historical character and that we are just these heartless people like ripping away this house." But Jaci showed that was definitely not the case. An image of the bathroom when they first moved in showed just how outdated and messy it looked. The loo and sink were covered in white, chunky wooden storage units that made the room outdated. The large storage units only cluttered the space, while a cheap mirror was hung above the sink. The bathtub was a chunky plastic white bath, with a showerhead hanging above. Shoppers urged 'not to blink' and get their hands on Home Bargains garden essential that sold out fast last time and it makes your garden extra cute - TikTok homebargainsofficialuk But now, Jaci showed how they had renovated the space. She ripped out the entire bathroom, swapping the once pink painted walls for an incredible blue tile with a marble effect. The chunky white bathtub had been gutted out and swapped for a luxury pink marble bathtub with gold finishing. She also made a built-in shelf into the wall by the bathtub to add extra storage. Jaci's transformation video went viral on TikTok @jacimariesmith with over 2 million views. People were stunned the previous owners were against the house being renovated, and were in awe of Jaci's new bathroom. One person wrote: "The new bathroom belongs in Architectural Digest." Another commented: 'My immediate assumption: There's something hidden in the walls/floors." "As someone who does real estate settlements for a living. So many people are like this. And it is in fact, wild.," penned a third. Home upgrades that add the most value to a house The best renovation to add value totally depends on your property, the local market and your potential buyers. Those are like 90's style rental bathrooms lol." "My brain went straight to... ooh well it's haunted. They were looking out for you,' claimed a fifth. Someone else added: 'That new bathroom reveal! Ed Sheeran accidentally confirms return to Australia as fans brace for another record-breaking tour

Ed Sheeran has accidentally let slip that he'll be returning to Australia in early 2026 - three years after his record breaking tour Down Under. The British hitmaker, 34, made the casual revelation in a TikTok comment this week, setting off a frenzy among fans already preparing for the next stadium spectacular. The tour bombshell was picked up by Nova 96.9 radio host Smallzy who shared the exchange to his Instagram Story with the hilarious caption: 'BRB selling organs to buy concert tickets'. In the now-viral TikTok, a fan asked the singer: 'How does coming back to Australia soon sound to you?' Ed, without skipping a beat, replied: 'Start of 2026'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. While no official announcement has been made, Daily Mail Australia reached out to the star's management team - who didn't deny the claim but teased that something major is coming. 'We aren't in the habit of pre-announcing announcements – but there will be news on our plans for 26 later this summer,' a spokesperson said. It comes as Sheeran continues to trek across Europe on his Mathematics Tour, which first kicked off in Dublin in 2022 and is currently selling out stadiums in Madrid and beyond. The multi-platinum artist last performed in Australia in 2023, where he made headlines for smashing attendance records. Since then, the father-of-two has continued to drop new music, including the emotional tracks Azizam and Old Phone, rumoured to be featured on his eighth studio album. With smash hits like Shape of You, Perfect and Photograph each pulling in more than two billion Spotify streams, Sheeran remains one of the most successful artists of his generation. He currently boasts 90 million monthly listeners on the platform, making him the third-most followed artist globally. Over the years, the former busker-turned-global superstar has collaborated with music royalty including Adele, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Beyoncé - cementing his place in pop history. It comes after last week Ed shared a series of throwback snaps to Instagram, including a fun selfie with Taylor Swift, while also reflecting on his copyright trial. The star launched a new Instagram account to celebrate his 'emotional' new single Old Phone. The account featured a number of never-before-seen pictures, texts, and lyric notes, and came ahead of the release of his new single on Thursday April 29. Ed was inspired to write the new song when revisiting his old phone during the copyright lawsuit around his hit single Thinking Out Loud. At the time, Ed denied he had ripped off Marvin Gaye's soul classic Let's Get it On for his 2014 hit song, and in 2023 was cleared in court. Explaining the new account, Ed penned in a new Instagram post: 'Put the sound on and have a listen. I got rid of my phone 2015, and moved onto email full time. I just turned my phone off December '15 and that was it. 'When I got sued, the judge ordered me to give up my old devices to the other sides lawyers, to look through messages, emails, voice notes, videos, etc, to see if there was anything on there to help their case. In the process, I switched on my old phone. It comes after last week Ed shared a series of throwback snaps to Instagram while also reflecting on his copyright trial 'The first message was from my friend Jamal Edwards, who had recently passed away. The second was from my ex girlfriend who I hadn't been in contact with for years. The third was a family member I haven't spoken to in a decade. And so on.' Ed shared pictures with pals including Taylor and the late Jamal Edwards, with the musician admitting looking through the phone made him emotional for a number of reasons. Ed continued: 'It felt like a time capsule, a time of life that I was in, and living at that time in 2015. Turning it on really spun me out, I found myself scrolling messages and conversations with people who are no longer here. 'I found myself crying at messages to friends who are now dead, who I won't get to speak to again. I found old photos of me with people I was so close to then, but we've lost touch since. 'The whole experience was such an emotional journey. I wrote the song Old Phone on my own at 2am whilst jet lagged in India finishing the album, and recorded it that morning. It feels like a song that should've been on my debut album, but also a song I couldn't have written until I experienced real life things happening to me.' Speaking on the meaningful new song, Ed added: 'It makes me emotional to sing, I hope it finds some emotion in you too.'
