Indian Railways' 60-day advance train ticket booking rule With effect from November 1, 2024, Indian Railways reduced the advance ticket booking duration to 60 days from 120 days (excluding the day of journey). At intermediate stations where the train arrives the following day, reservation can be made 61 days in advance. In the case of some intercity day express trains, the advance reservation period is less, as per the latest rules.

If they fail to book tickets through the online portal or a Railway ticket counter, passengers are left only with the Tatkal ticket option, which is more expensive and unpredictable to get. How can I know the reservation status of my ticket? The reservation status is printed on your ticket. For these classes, the word 'Confirmed', will be printed alongside the class of travel. If your ticket shows the RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) status or is in the waiting list, the same will also be mentioned on your ticket.

According to the notification, the Indian Railways will offer a 20 per cent rebate on the base fare of the return journey for passengers booking a round trip starting October 13. The scheme applies to onward travel between October 13 and 26, with the return journey falling between November 17 and December 1. Ganesh Chaturthi Special Train from Hubballi to Mangaluru Central
In view of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, South Western Railway will run a one-time special train service between SSS Hubballi and Mangaluru Central to clear the extra rush. This announcement has brought much needed relief to the passengers. Train No. 07341 will depart from Hubballi at 4:00 PM on August 26, 2025, and reach Mangaluru Central at 11:45 AM the next day. The return Train No. 07342 will leave Mangaluru Central at 2:15 PM on August 27 and arrive at Hubballi at 9:45 AM the following day. The train will stop at key stations including Haveri, Harihar, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, Tumakuru, Yesvantpur, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabakaputtur, and Bantawala.
