Vidya Balan supports Deepika Padukone for flexible working hours, says she works 12 hours because she's not a mom: ‘I have all the time in the world'
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Vidya shared that industries across the board are increasingly accommodating the needs of new mothers. She said, 'There is a conversation about how mothers need to have the option to work for fewer hours, flexible hours and I think that's fair. Every industry is adopting those practices so that we don't lose out on new mothers or women in the early years of them having children. I think it's important that we do have flexible working hours for women.'
Vidya admitted that while she works 12 hours a day, she's able to do so because she isn't a mother. She said, 'I have to be honest with you on the kind of films that I do, we cannot afford to show for only eight hours and I am not a mother, so I have all the time in the world to be doing a 12 hour shift.'

Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna, who worked with Sandeep Reddy Vanga in Animal, also commented on the conflict between the filmmaker and Deepika over working hours. Rashmika emphasised that every film has its own set of requirements, and filmmakers and actors should engage in dialogue beforehand. She told Mojo Story, 'Today, the whole country is debating about flexible hours and everything, but that is for discussion amongst the teams to figure out what works for them. It's their personal choice, that's what I believe in. I feel like every film needs to have that discussion and to be open to how many hours in the day they want to work.'
For the unversed, Deepika was approached to play the female lead in Vanga's Spirit. However, according to reports, she exited the project after some of her key demands — such as a capped eight-hour shoot day, a share in the film's profits, and the flexibility to not speak her lines in Telugu — were refused by the filmmaker. Vanga had later shared an angry post on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the matter, without naming the actor. Deepika was eventually replaced by Triptii Dimri.

Can't get over Ahaan Pandey's Saiyaara? Check out these Bollywood romance-dramas that'll tug at your heartstrings
Yash Raj Films' latest outing Saiyaara, continues to dominate the box office in India. The Mohit Suri film, starring newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, left the audience reeling with its stormy romance, drama and the brooding anti-hero. However, it isn't the only film in Bollywood with the plot revolving around a so-called 'bad guy' who loses himself for an innocent girl. Here's a list of films that, like Saiyaara, are packed with romance, intense drama, and passion. Radhe, a short-tempered, jobless rowdy and his gang are feared by people yet silently battling their own issues. He falls for the shy and simple Nirjara, a temple priest's daughter. His intense love for her becomes an obsession. Though she initially rejects him, Nirjara eventually realises Radhe's genuine nature and reciprocates his feelings. Just when love begins to blossom, Radhe is brutally attacked, leaving him mentally unstable. He's sent to a rehab where he is haunted by her memories. When Radhe finally recovers and returns, he learns about Nirjara's tragic fate; she took her own life, unable to bear the separation. Heartbroken Radhe voluntarily returns to the asylum forever. The film follows the story of a genius medical surgeon with severe anger issues. Deeply in love with his college junior, Preeti, his world collapses when her family forcibly marries her to someone else. Heartbroken Arjun turns to alcohol, drugs, and reckless behaviour, jeopardising his career and relationships, yet remains haunted by memories of her. Over time, with help from his close friend and a chance encounter with Preeti, Arjun begins to confront his past, seek redemption, and ultimately find a path to healing and hope. The romantic thriller follows Guru, a ruthless hitman with a troubled past. He falls in love with the lively and optimistic Aisha. Her love transforms him as they begin a new life together. Just as things seem better, Aisha is tragically murdered by Rakesh, a seemingly meek man who secretly harbours violent tendencies and takes out his frustrations on women. Devastated and enraged, Guru sets out to seek revenge from Aisha's killer. The story revolves around Rahul Jaykar, a once-famous singer battling alcoholism and a fading career. One night, he discovers Aarohi, a talented bar singer. Impressed by her talent, Rahul helps launch her career, and she quickly rises to fame. As Aarohi's career ascends, Rahul's life spirals further due to his addiction and insecurity about being overshadowed. Their love is tested as Aarohi tries to save Rahul from self-destruction, even willing to give up her career for him. But Rahul, unable to cope with his inner demons, chooses to end his life to secure her future. Saraswati, aka Saru Parthasaarthy, a shy, traditional librarian, is constantly ridiculed for her conservative appearance and struggles to find a suitor. Her life takes a turn when she crosses paths with her neighbour, Inder Lal Parihaar, a rugged, misunderstood man with a troubled past. After a series of misunderstandings, Saru is disowned by her orthodox family. Inder steps in, offering her help to transform into a confident woman. During this journey, the two fall deeply in love. But just as their relationship begins to bloom, Saru is diagnosed with a terminal illness. As Saru's days become numbered, Inder dedicates himself to making every moment of her life special.

Fact Check: Shubhman Gill Hugging Sara Tendulkar? Viral Image Sparks Debate On Social Media - Here's The Truth Behind Picture
A viral photo showing Indian Test captain Shubman Gill hugging a woman at a London event recently sent the internet into a frenzy, with many fans assuming it was Sara Tendulkar, daughter of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. However, a closer look has revealed the truth behind the image and it's not what it seems. The Viral Image That Sparked Rumours The photo in question was taken during Yuvraj Singh's charity fundraiser event in London on July 8, 2025, where several celebrities and cricket stars gathered to support cancer awareness and treatment. Shubman Gill, who is currently leading the Indian Test team, was in attendance and seen greeting guests warmly. One particular moment where Gill hugged a woman dressed in white quickly spread across Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and fan pages. With both Shubman and Sara reportedly in London at the time, fans jumped to conclusions that the woman was none other than Sara Tendulkar. The image was labelled by many as the 'perfect picture of the day,' and dating rumours flared up yet again. Fact Check: It Wasn't Sara Tendulkar Contrary to speculation, the woman in the viral image is not Sara Tendulkar. In reality, the person hugging Shubman Gill is Hazel Keech, former Bollywood actress and wife of Yuvraj Singh. The original photo was shared by Hazel herself on her verified social media account, showing her meeting and greeting guests including Gill at the fundraiser. That viral video with Shubman Gill? Not Sara Tendulkar- it's Hazel Keech, Yuvraj Singh's wife..#ShubmanGill #saratendulkar #HazelKeech @ShubmanGill — Irfan isak shaikh (@irfan_speak786) July 20, 2025 Dressed in white and bearing some facial resemblance to Sara, Hazel was mistakenly identified by fans, which led to widespread confusion online. Hazel Keech At The Event Hazel Keech, a familiar face in the cricketing circuit thanks to her connection with Yuvraj Singh, was actively involved in the fundraiser. She has often supported her husband's foundation events and has been a regular attendee at cricket charity matches and related causes. The hug between Hazel and Gill was a simple, friendly moment captured on camera nothing more. The photo's romantic interpretation was purely fan speculation fueled by past rumours. The History Behind Gill-Sara Rumours This isn't the first time Shubman Gill and Sara Tendulkar have been linked. For years, their social media interactions including likes, comments, and follows have kept fans speculating about a possible relationship. At one point, both even unfollowed each other, adding fuel to the rumour mill. Despite neither confirming anything publicly, fans continue to monitor their activities closely. So, when this new image surfaced, it didn't take long for people to assume it was Sara — even though it wasn't. Social Media vs Reality The incident is yet another example of how quickly assumptions spread online, especially when celebrities and cricketers are involved. While fans may enjoy romantic narratives, this case shows how misleading viral moments can be when taken out of context. Shubman Gill remains focused on his cricketing duties, and Sara Tendulkar has not commented on the latest viral moment. As for the photo, it's now clear that it was Hazel Keech not Sara Tendulkar sharing a warm hug with Gill at the London event. So, the next time a photo goes viral, it's worth taking a moment to fact-check before jumping to conclusions. While the Gill-Sara mystery continues to intrigue fans, this latest chapter turned out to be a case of mistaken identity and a reminder that not everything on social media is as it seems.
