WWE Superstar Calls Part Of John Cena's Final Year A Waste Of Time
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre was a recent guest on SEN Sporting Capital. When asked about potentially being one of John Cena's final matches, McIntyre said he'd love to face this version of Cena in Perth, calling his previous heel run a waste of time.
'John Cena, that would be a fun match in Perth,' Drew McIntyre admitted. 'I need to get one of those last matches. Now that he's Super Cena again, I don't want any part of these last six months. What a waste of time.
'Now that he's back to Super Cena, if that match happens, eventually, I'll be very happy to send him right into retirement. He's doing a great job in Hollywood. Peacemaker is amazing. I'll be happy to kick him out the door and continue the good work he's doing outside of the company.' [H/T: Fightful]
McIntyre got a match with Cena earlier than he expected, teaming with Logan Paul Friday night on SmackDown against Cena and Cody Rhodes in a tag match.

Quentin Tarantino Scrapped ‘The Movie Critic' Because It ‘Was Too Much Like' ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' and ‘Who Wants to See a Movie About a F—ing Movie Critic?'
Quentin Tarantino has offered an explanation for why he scrapped plans to direct his script 'The Movie Critic,' which would've marked his 10th film — and his final one, if he does keep his years-long promise that he will stop helming features at that count. 'I wasn't really excited about dramatizing what I wrote when I was in pre-production, partly because I'm using the skillset that I learned from 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' [of] 'How are we going to turn Los Angeles into the Hollywood of 1969 without using CGI?'' Tarantino explained in a career-spanning conversation on the Church of Tarantino podcast, recorded in Los Angeles at his coffee shop Pam's Coffy. 'It was something we had to pull off. We had to achieve it. It wasn't for sure that we could do it. … 'The Movie Critic,' there was nothing to figure out. I already kind of knew, more or less, how to turn L.A. into an older time. It was too much like the last one.' More from Variety Simon Pegg Says Quentin Tarantino's Unmade 'Star Trek' Movie Was 'Bats-- Crazy': 'It Was Everything You Would Expect' 'Pulp Fiction:' Lawrence Bender Reflects on Producing Quentin Tarantino's Modern Hollywood Classic Quentin Tarantino Shares Michael Madsen 'Reservoir Dogs' Story During Private Memorial: 'I'm On Your Side, Buddy' Tarantino also explained that 'The Movie Critic' was set in 1977 and began development as an eight-episode TV series, a project that he had teased was in the works in 2022. He also clarified that the story of 'The Movie Critic' had nothing to do with 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' despite rumors that the project was a narrative follow-up. Brad Pitt had been cast in a lead role, leading to speculation that the star would be reprising his 'Once Upon a Time' role of Cliff Booth. Tarantino said that there were no shared characters between the two stories, though he called 'The Movie Critic' a 'spiritual sequel.' He also suggested that he could loop back to the project should he change his mind about it, as it's already written. 'The thing about 'The Movie Critic' is I really, really like it. But there was a challenge that I gave to myself when I did it. 'Can I take the most boring profession in the world and make it an interesting movie?'' Tarantino said. 'Who wants to see a TV show about a fucking movie critic? Who wants to see a movie called 'The Movie Critic'? That was the test. If I can actually make a movie or a TV show about someone who actually watches movies interesting, that is an accomplishment. And I think I did that.' The director continued by saying that he began work on 'The Adventures of Cliff Booth,' the actual sequel to 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' shortly after walking away from 'The Movie Critic.' The Netflix production, which is now shooting in Los Angeles, is written and produced by Tarantino, but David Fincher is directing. In the meantime, Tarantino is planning to open a play on the West End in London in 2026 before working on his 10th (and allegedly final) feature film. 'It's a little crazy to listen to podcasts and hear all these amateur psychiatrists psychoanalyze as if they fucking know what they're talking about about what's going on with me, about how I'm so scared, alright, of my 10th film,' Tarantino said, launching into an impression for his speculative fans. ''Oh my god! Oh my god! I'm so fragile about my legacy. What's going on? I'm paralyzed with fear!' I'm not paralyzed with fear. Trust me.' 'TSITP' Fans! Your Favorite TV Boyfriend Just Joined Jessica Chastain's New Horror Movie.
I realize that The Summer I Turned Pretty and the supernatural horror genre don't exactly sound like a match made in Heaven, but one of TSITP's breakout stars, Sean Kaufman, is set to act alongside several other big names in Hollywood for the upcoming horror film Other Mommy. Sidenote: I'm already terrified by this movie, and that's just based on the premise alone. Here's everything you need to know about Other Mommy, coming soon. Where can I watch Other Mommy? Other Mommy is sure to hit theaters soon. Stay tuned for an official release date! What is Other Mommy about? This upcoming movie is based on the horror novel Incidents Around the House, by Josh Malerman, who's best known for writing Birdbox. Other Mommy centers around a dysfunctional family with parents who are constantly fighting, and a young daughter, Bela, who is left alone to her own devices most of the time. Since Mom and Dad are so busy bickering and trying to win arguments, Bela is forced to resort to her own imagination in order to have companionship. The only times her parents actually do sit down to talk to Bela are when they're complaining about each other to her. Yeah. Not exactly what I'd call model behavior from the parenting 101 handbook. Especially considering the fact that Bela is only eight years old! While reading the book, I kept wanting to scream to the mom and dad that they should be airing out their issues to a licensed couple's therapist, rather than their young daughter. It was infuriating to read, but ultimately the perfect framing device to set the tone for Bela's growing need for an 'Other Mommy.' Cue, the creepiest element of the narrative: Bela begins hearing voices in the house from a supernatural entity called 'Other Mommy,' who keeps asking, 'Can I go inside your heart?' (I've never been so terrified in my life, and I've seen Hereditary.) This force becomes a looming threat within the family household, yet because Bela is so young, she doesn't come to the conclusion that 'Other Mommy' is anything to fear. In fact, at times, 'Other Mommy' might even be seen as a source of comfort for her, considering her real mother's neglect. I was wondering why this premise sounded so familiar until I realized how much it reminded me of Coraline. Hem, hem, 'Other Mother?' Yet while the Neil Gaiman book-to-movie adaptation has an eerie but ultimately whimsical vibe, don't get it twisted- Other Mommy is just straight-up horror. Even avid horror readers admitted to this novel being among the scariest they've ever read. Who's in the Other Mommy cast? In addition to Sean Kaufman, we'll see some amazing names like Jessica Chastain, as well as Jay Duplass. Interestingly enough, the script was crafted by Succession writer, Nathan Eltson (I highly doubt they'll be cracking Roman Roy-style jokes in this particular script, though). Here's the full Other Mommy cast: Arabella Olivia Clark as Bela Sean Kaufman Adam Silver Jessica Chastain Jay Duplass Dichen Lachman Karen Allen Are y'all as terrified about this film as I am? Jenna Ortega Doesn't Land Dream Role as Baz Luhrmann Finds His Joan of Arc
After recently expressing her desire to play Joan of Arc, it looks like Wednesday star Jenna Ortega won't be getting her dream role anytime soon. Director Baz Luhrmann has found a different young actress to lead his upcoming Jehanne d'Arc movie. During the press tour of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Ortega had shared that one of her favorite movies of all time was Carl Theodor Dreyer's French silent film The Passion of Joan of Arc, revealing that Renée Jeanne Falconetti's incredible performance made her realized that Joan of Arc was her dream character. Who is leading the Joan of Arc movie? According to Deadline, The Queen's Gambit star Isla Johnston has entered early talks for the leading role in Luhrmann's Joan of Arc movie for Warner Bros. Should Johnston officially sign on, this would mark her first major movie role after previously playing the younger version of Anya Taylor-Joy's character in the acclaimed Netflix miniseries. Jehanne d'Arc will be directed by Luhrmann from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ava Pickett. The project is currently in the pre-production phase. This marks Luhrmann's feature directorial comeback after massive critical success of 2022's Elvis, which launched Austin Butler into a sought-after leading man. Hailed as a patron saint of France, Joan of Arc is a legendary historical figure who became famous as a defender of the nation during the Hundred Years' War in the 1400s. Infamously, Joan claimed to be acting under divine guidance from the archangel Michael in her decision-making. In 1431, after being captured by the English, she was accused of heresy and burned at the stake at the age of 19.
