Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari held a detailed review meeting in New Delhi on Monday with officials to assess the progress of National Highway projects in Maharashtra.The review was focused on the road projects, including Mumbai-Goa Highway (Package I, VI, VII), National Highway 353C from Choudampalli to Sironcha, National Highway 161A from Mudkhed to Nanded, National Highway 166G from Talere to Gaganbawda to Kolhapur, National Highway 52 and Kharwandi Kasar Junction, and National Highway 652 from Naldurg to Akkalkot.Earlier on Sunday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts worldwide and stated that the situation has become so grave that tensions between countries could potentially escalate into a third world war soon.The Union Minister also highlighted that advancements in warfare technology have dramatically altered the "dimensions of war" and said that the current situation is a serious problem that demands urgent attention and discussion at the global level."There is an atmosphere of conflict around the world, between Israel and Iran, as well as the war between Russia and Ukraine. The situation is such that there is a possibility of a third world war anytime in the backdrop of these wars," said Nitin Gadkari while addressing a book launch event in Nagpur on Sunday."Due to the increasing technology of war, the dimensions of war have changed, and the use of missiles and drones has increased in the war, due to which the relevance of tanks and other types of aircraft is decreasing. Amidst all this, it has become difficult to protect humanity. Missiles are often fired at civilian settlements," he said.He further said, "This has created a serious problem, and all these issues need to be discussed at the global level. It would not be right to say this, but this path is slowly moving towards destruction."

SP MP demands rollback of school merger
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party MP from Machhlishahr Priya Saroj has written to the Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan demanding review of the policy of 'integration of schools' in Uttar Pradesh and cancellation of the merger process. In her letter, Saroj said that the policy of integration of schools was being followed in Uttar Pradesh, which seems to be against the basic spirit of the Right to Education Act (RTE Act). "Under RTE Act, there is a provision that every child between the age of 6 to 14 years should be provided free and compulsory education within one kilometre of the nearest primary school from residence. If no school is available within a radius of one kilometre, then it is the responsibility of the govt to ensure admission of the child in the nearest school," she said. She said the current policy of the UP govt was violating the spirit of the Act. "This is hindering access to school for many children, leading more dropouts. Jobs of 2.5 lakh teachers and school staff of UP are also at risk," she said.

Arun Singh praised his efforts in preserving Indian culture, while Shobha Karandlaje criticized the Congress for opposing Sanatan Dharm. Ranjan Gogoi paid floral tributes while Neeraj Shekhar, Vijender Gupta, and Mayukh praised Swami Karpatri's legacy. Rohit Kumar Singh called him a cultural ambassador and vowed to expose Congress's "anti-national" policies. The event concluded with the felicitation of Justice Gogoi.

Nagpur Powers Up India's First AI-Driven Anganwadi
1 2 Nagpur: In a landmark move to revolutionise early childhood education, India's first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered Anganwadi was inaugurated in Nagpur district under the ambitious initiative Mission Bal Bharari. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the pioneering project at Metro Bhavan, with several top dignitaries including Union minister Nitin Gadkari, state BJP president and guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and zilla parishad CEO Vinayak Mahamuni in attendance. The pilot Anganwadi, set up at Waddhamna in Hingna taluka, boasts cutting-edge technology such as Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, AI-integrated smart dashboards, and interactive digital learning content. "These facilities — rare even in premium private kindergartens — will be used to teach poems, songs, and curriculum in a highly engaging and innovative manner," said a senior official. What makes this initiative particularly impactful is its aim to bridge the educational divide between rural and urban areas. "This is an emotional resolution to ensure every child learns with joy, curiosity, and confidence," said Mahamuni, adding that the goal is to bring a historic transformation in Maharashtra's early childhood education system. As part of the mission, Anganwadi workers were trained to operate the advanced smart tools. The zilla parishad plans to expand this model by launching 40 more AI-powered Anganwadis across Nagpur district. "Through Mission Bal Bharari, we are committed to giving kids from rural backgrounds same trust, exposure, and facilities that children in metropolitan cities receive at home or in private kindergartens," the CM said. The launch event saw the presence of key political leaders including minister of state for agriculture Ashish Jaiswal, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Pravin Datke, and Sanjay Meshram, along with divisional commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari and district collector Vipin Itankar. With Nagpur Zilla Parishad at the helm, this initiative also symbolises a visionary step toward inclusive and future-ready education.
