Daily Mirror17 hours ago
There is set to be a new face on Coronation Street in a few weeks as one character gets recast, with the fourth actor taking on the role in the ITV soap
Coronation Street as recast a beloved character after just one year on screen, with the fourth star now taking on the role. The ITV soap has rejigged its cast as a new actor will appear on the Cobbles very soon.

The character has been part of the ITV show for eight years, but will now be taken on by a new actor. Harry Platt, who is the son of Sarah Barlow, had been played by Carter J Murphy.

He took on the part of actress Tina O'Brien's child, having filled in from twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes. It comes as a former Coronation Street resident is sentenced to four years in prison offscreen.

However, Carter's departure from the soap comes with a good reason. He has landed a huge role in Matilda the Musical and could no longer carry on with his commitments on Corrie.
Carter has decided to step away from his role for a year, with a new actor called Josh filling in for him. He will make his debut on the Cobbles in the coming weeks, according to the Sun.
Character Harry was born in 2016 following Sarah's fling with baddie Callum Logan, played by Sean Ward. Twins Freddie and Isaac played the role from 2017 to last year.
It wasn't Carter's first taste of the big screen thanks to landing the role of a young Robbie Williams in his upcoming movie Better Man. Speaking to press about Carter joining the soap, Jack P Shepherd said: "They've just recast the lad who plays Harry.
"Carter is very, very confident." He made his debut on screens in December last year. Just last month, Corrie saw a new actress step into a role following the recasting of a character.

Grace Ashcroft-Gardiner stepped into the shoes of Lily Platt on the beloved ITV soap. The young actress couldn't contain her joy as she announced her new gig to her followers, taking over from Brooke Malonie who portrayed Lily since 2016.
Grace said: "I am so excited to share my news that I have joined the cast of Coronation Street playing the role of Lily Platt." She went on to thank the Stagebox team for their pivotal role in her journey.
The young star added: "It's been a brilliant few months since my first audition, which wouldn't have happened without the fantastic Stagebox team (who I can't thank enough! ).

"The whole Corrie team, the cast and crew have been absolutely amazing, I couldn't have asked for any more support during my first few weeks filming on the cobbles."
Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, commented: "Smashing it! ! I love the sass you give her." Jack P Shepherd, who plays her on-screen father David Platt, chimed in: "Yay! Great to have part of the family Grace."
Grace became the sixth actress to step into the shoes of Lily since the character's introduction in 2013.

Prince Andrew's 'odd Royal Lodge game' that Sarah Ferguson 'doesn't like'

Prince Andrew, who is the subject of a bombshell new biography, allegedly plays a bizarre game with the staff at Royal Lodge, but ex-wife Sarah Ferguson takes a "dim view" of it Prince Andrew plays a bizarre game with the staff at Royal Lodge that his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson takes a "dim view" of, it has been alleged. Andrew's "lifelong teddy bear obsession" has reemerged in the news after the publication of an explosive new biography by historian Andrew Lownie, entitled 'The Rise and Fall of the House of York'. ‌ In 2022, a strange anecdote surfaced about the beleaguered prince's reported stash of 50 to 60 teddy bears. An ex-royal officer even claimed that Andrew would "scream and shout" if his staff didn't perform a specific task involving the toys. ‌ Speaking in the ITV documentary 'Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile', former protection officer Paul Page claimed that the Duke would fly into a rage if his servants didn't place them in a certain way at Buckingham Palace. ‌ A handwritten guide also offered insights into his sizeable collection, which purportedly included bears, a panther, hippos and three cushions with the unusual monikers of 'Daddy', 'Ducks' and 'Prince'. It wasn't simply an itinerary but featured directions on where to put blankets, a fur, and five toys. According to the Mail's Ephraim Hardcastle, the Duke's affinity for toy animals doesn't end there. A Palace source told the Mail: "When he lived at Buck House he'd also hide his toy monkey in unlikely places to test whether cleaning staff would spot betide them if they didn't." They added: "Staff at Royal Lodge still have to play Prince Andrew's game - unless Sarah is resident. She takes a dim view of it." Andrew, who left his royal duties back in 2019 after his car crash Newsnight interview, has been embroiled in a number of controversies in recent years. They include his links to an alleged Chinese spy, his tenancy of Royal Lodge and connection to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. ‌ The Duke has denied any wrongdoing during his time with Epstein, while alleged spy Yang Tengbo requested that his anonymity be lifted and insisted that the spy claim was "entirely untrue". Earlier this week, amidst allegations outlined in Lownie's bombshell book, the Duke broke cover and was sighted leaving for a walk. As photographs of this excursion came to light, body language expert Judi James shared her thoughts. ‌ After examining the snaps, she explained that it was "less about" what's changed in Andrew's body language, but rather what's "missing". She also noted that Andrew appeared to have shed his "rounded-eyed, haunted expression". Judi went on to say that the Duke's frown had "melted slightly" and his expression lacked any obvious signs of tension. Alleging that he was known for "looks of haughty arrogance", Judi pointed out that he now looks "less immersed" in "signals of status and entitlement". Judi added: "His mouth is closed but his lips aren't clamped, and his shoulders look relatively relaxed. One pic like this might not capture his current mood in its entirety but it might hint at a more philosophical and less defiant approach now." A spokesperson for Sarah Ferguson declined to comment.
