Actors Joshua Jackson and Simone Ashley have sparked dating rumours after being spotted together in New York City over the weekend. As mer multiple reports, on Saturday, the two were photographed walking close, sharing laughs and looking relaxed in each other's company. Simone Ashley and Joshua Jackson were spotted in NYC over the weekend
It's the first time the pair have been seen hanging out one-on-one in public, and their outing comes in the middle of hectic filming schedules. Joshua has been in the city shooting Happy Hours, a new feature that reunites him with his Dawson's Creek co-star Katie Holmes, while Ashley has been on set for The Devil Wears Prada 2, working alongside Oscar-winning actor Meryl Streep.
Ashley has been candid about focusing on herself following her split from longtime boyfriend Constantin 'Tino' Klein earlier this year. Speaking in February, she called herself in her 'single era' and explained she wasn't in a rush to date again. 'It can be easy to jump into the next thing immediately, which is something that I am choosing not to do,' she had told People in March. She also added that she's 'looking for someone who is so confident in themselves and is really ready to have an open heart in the same way I do. And I think that's hard to find.' The Bridgerton actor also said this year is filled with exciting work commitments and she wants to take time to grow personally before getting into a new relationship.
Joshua, too, has been single for a while. He was last linked to Lupita Nyong'o, with whom he confirmed a romance in December 2023, before they enjoyed a beach getaway in Mexico. The relationship began shortly after Jodie Turner-Smith filed for divorce in October 2023, ending their four-year marriage. The former couple share a daughter, Juno, and have been involved in a public custody dispute.
Neither Joshua nor Ashley has addressed the speculation, but for now, the sighting has been enough to set the rumour mill spinning.

Zurich Film Festival 2025: Dwayne Johnsons The Smashing Machine, Nia DaCostas Hedda, and other films to screen at event

Zurich [Switzerland], August 14 (ANI): The Zurich Film Festival has unveiled the list of movies which will have the global premiere at the event, which runs from September 25 to October 5, reported The Hollywood Reporter. The 21st edition of the festival will open its main gala section to a mix of Hollywood awards contenders and German-language productions with broad audience appeal. Festival director Christian Jungen noted that the section has a track record of screening films that later earn Oscar nominations, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. It includes Benny Safdie's latest feature, 'The Smashing Machine', starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson. The Rock plays the role of an MMA fighter, Mark Kerr. According to the outlet, the film's synopsis reads: Kerr, an icon of the early UFC era, stands at the peak of his career while teetering on the edge of destruction, a life caught between fame and self-destruction. Former Playboy model and Kerr's wife, Dawn Staples, played by Emily Blunt, tries to support him through all the setbacks but finds herself pushed to her own limits. Also screening is 'Hedda', the latest film from Nia DaCosta. The film is described as a modern reimagining of Henrik Ibsen's classic play. Hedda (Tessa Thompson) finds herself torn between the lingering ache of a past love and the quiet suffocation of her present life. Over the course of one charged night, long-repressed desires and hidden tensions erupt - pulling her and everyone around her into a spiral of manipulation, passion, and betrayal. Actors Nina Hoss, Imogen Poots and Tom Bateman also play prominent roles in the film. Paul Greengrass's 'The Lost Bus' is also up for screening at the Zurich Film Festival, reported The Hollywood Reporter. Inspired by real events, the movie casts Matthew McConaughey as a school bus driver caught in one of America's deadliest wildfires, with America Ferrera as a teacher aiding in the rescue of 22 children. Other titles in the gala lineup include Rebecca Zlotowski's 'A Private Life' with Jodie Foster, Erik Schmitt's 'The Life of Wishes' starring Matthias Schweighofer, Swiss literary adaptation 'I'm Not Stiller' from director Stefan Haupt, Neele Leana Vollmar's 'Time We Lost' with Anke Engelke and Ulrich Tukur, 'Unidentified' from Haifaa Al Mansour, Christian Ditter's children's film 'Momo', and the documentary 'The Balloonists' from director John Dower, reported The Hollywood Reporter. Denzel Washington expresses disinterest in Oscars, says 'Man gives the award. God gives the reward'

Washington, DC [US], August 14 (ANI): Denzel Washington has nine Academy Award nominations under his belt and is a two-time Oscar winner for his performances in the movies 'Glory' and 'Training Day'. However, the actor places no value on such career milestones, reported Variety. While speaking to "Jake's Takes" on his "Highest 2 Lowest" press tour, as quoted by Variety, Washington said no acting decision he makes in his career has to do with winning awards, including Oscars. "I don't do it for Oscars. I don't care about that kind of stuff. I've been at this a long time, and there's time when I won and shouldn't have won and then didn't win and should've won. Man gives the award. God gives the reward," said Washington as quoted by Variety. Washington continued, "I'm not that interested in Oscars. People ask me, 'Where do I keep it?' Well, next to the other one. I'm not bragging! Just telling you how I feel about it. On my last day, [Oscars] aren't going to do me a bit of good," as quoted by Variety. Just earlier this year, Washington was considered a major Oscar snub after he failed to land a best supporting actor nomination for 'Gladiator II.' The actor didn't care about it as he sarcastically told The New York Times when asked about the snub, "Are you kidding me? Aww, oh, I'm so upset. I'm happy for all that did, and I'm happy with what I'm doing," as quoted by Variety. Not getting caught up in awards has long been Washington's mantra. His "Training Day" co-star Ethan Hawke appeared on Max's "Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?" last year, as quoted by Variety and remembered how Washington leaned over to him when Hawke lost best supporting actor on Oscar night to tell him, "It's better that you didn't win. Losing was better." "You don't want an award to improve your status. You want to improve the award's status. That's the way he thinks," Hawke said about Washington's advice in the moment. "That's what I'm talking about, playing with Babe Ruth. The Academy Award has more power because Denzel has a couple. It didn't elevate who he was," added Hawke about Washington as quoted by Variety. Denzel Washington will be next seen in the film 'Highest 2 Lowest', which is slated to release in theatres worldwide on August 15. (ANI)
