According to Cine Loco, Mohanlal has reportedly travelled to Chennai to take part in the latest shooting schedule of Jailer 2. While there has been no official confirmation from the production team, speculation is rife that the actor will reprise his role as Mathew in the sequel. His cameo appearance as a powerful villain in the 2023 blockbuster Jailer drew attention from audiences in both Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The current schedule is also believed to include Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan, and Kottayam Nazir.
Interestingly, sources suggest that Mohanlal's portions might be completed by the end of July, after which he is expected to shoot his special appearance in Bha Bha Ba alongside Dileep.
Shiva Rajkumar is expected to reprise his previous role, and Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna may appear in a pivotal cameo as a high-ranking police officer.
On the work front, Rajinikanth is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Coolie, directed by
Kanagaraj. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on 14 August 2025 and features Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan,
