KUWAIT CITY, April 29: Kuwait's national beach volleyball teams are intensifying their daily training sessions on the Green Island courts ahead of the West Asia Championship, scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from May 5 to 10. Issa Al-Saleem praised the team's intensive preparations, emphasizing the commitment of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation and the national team management to equip the players for high-level performance. 'We aim to deliver a strong showing in the West Asia Championship and contend for top positions, despite the sport's recent absence from domestic competition,' Al-Saleem said. 'We have a skilled technical team and ambitious players who are motivated to compete at their best. With continued support from the Federation, we are determined to give our all in Doha.'

Kuwait U-20 women's beach volleyball team shows promise despite elimination
DOHA, Dec 3: The Kuwaiti Under-20 women's beach volleyball team concluded its campaign in the West Asia Championship, held in Doha, Qatar, after exiting in the round of 16. The team suffered losses to Qatar (1-2) and Oman (0-2). Kuwait Team (A) began the group stage with a defeat to Qatar (0-2) but bounced back with a win against Oman (2-0), securing its place in the knockout round. Meanwhile, Team (B) started strong with a victory over Yemen (2-1) but lost to Syria (0-2) and still advanced to the round of 16. In the elimination stage, Team (A) faced Qatar once again, suffering a narrow loss (1-2), while Team (B) was defeated by Oman (0-2). Amal Al-Faraj, the team administrator, highlighted the significance of this being the team's first participation in a competitive international championship. She praised the players for their commendable performance against more experienced opponents. The Kuwaiti delegation included administrator Amal Al-Faraj, Coach Samia Al-Najjar, and players Zahra Al-Hussain, Malak Mashari, Maryam Karimi, and Munira Badr.
