
Kuwait beach volleyball teams finalize preparations for the West Asia Championship
KUWAIT CITY, April 29: Kuwait's national beach volleyball teams are intensifying their daily training sessions on the Green Island courts ahead of the West Asia Championship, scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from May 5 to 10.
The national delegation is competing in the tournament with four teams. The men's side features Abdulwahab Talib and Jassim Al-Sabbagh (Team 1), and Nawaf Talal and Ibrahim Diaa (Team 2). The women's teams include Al-Ghadeer Al-Sayegh and Dana Mansour, along with Munira Yousef and Halima Abdullah. The technical staff is led by head coach Ahmed Abdulrazzaq, with Issa Al-Saleem serving as the men's team administrator and Amal Al-Faraj managing the women's squad.
The teams recently took part in the Third Gulf Beach Games, where the duo of Talib and Al-Sabbagh achieved a respectable fifth-place finish.
Issa Al-Saleem praised the team's intensive preparations, emphasizing the commitment of the Kuwait Volleyball Federation and the national team management to equip the players for high-level performance.
'We aim to deliver a strong showing in the West Asia Championship and contend for top positions, despite the sport's recent absence from domestic competition,' Al-Saleem said. 'We have a skilled technical team and ambitious players who are motivated to compete at their best. With continued support from the Federation, we are determined to give our all in Doha.'

Junior handball team heads to Croatia ahead of Asian Championship in Jordan
KUWAIT CITY, June 4: The Kuwait junior handball team, composed of players born in 2008-2009, continues its rigorous daily training sessions at the Handball Federation Hall in Daiya. The team is led by Croatian coach Ivan, assisted by national coach Khaled Al-Mulla and team administrator Youssef Shaheen. Kuwait is gearing up to compete in the first Asian Under-17 Championship, scheduled to take place in Amman, Jordan, from July 1 to 11. This tournament serves as a qualifier for the inaugural World Junior Championship, set to be held in Morocco in late October. Next Saturday, the team will embark on a training camp in Croatia and Slovenia, running until June 25. The camp will feature several friendly matches, after which the team will return to Kuwait before heading to Jordan for the championship. Meanwhile, the 2012-2013 Junior team is also training daily at Daiya Hall under Croatian coach Ten Boy, with national assistant Hassan Saleh and goalkeeping coach Khaled Madouh. Hassan Saleh noted that the national team currently comprises 60 players, selected for their height, skills, and speed. He added, 'As part of the Federation's Board of Directors' strategic plan and the Training Authority's vision, these junior players are carefully chosen and trained daily to strengthen the age-group teams with the best talents for the future.' In addition, Saud Mufrej has been appointed assistant coach of the youth team, with Khaled Madouh continuing as goalkeeper coach for the juniors.

Behbehani represents Kuwait at Asian artistic gymnastics tournament

Kuwait Olympic Committee celebrates ‘Blue Gymnastics'
KUWAIT: The Kuwait Olympic Committee held a reception for the champions of the Kuwait artistic gymnastics team to celebrate the achievement of the 'Blue Gymnastics' in the West Asian Championship for youth, juniors and girls categories. The tournament was recently held in the Jordanian capital Amman, during which Kuwaiti players won 32 medals; 17 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze, in a new achievement for the sport of gymnastics in Kuwait. Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Al-Nawaf Al-Sabah, Vice President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, praised the 'great results achieved by the Kuwaiti team in this international forum', stressing the committee's support for national teams and federations. Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal thanked the parents of the male and female players for their support, wishing more success for the heroes and heroines of the team in order to make more achievements and raise the name of Kuwait in all international forums. President of the Kuwait Gymnastics Federation, Fahad Al-Soula, thanked the President and members of the Kuwait Olympic Committee for their support of the Federation and its members, and thanked Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal for the good reception and welcome.
