A man was killed by a bull after he taunted the animal during an event over the weekend.
Yovanis Márquez, was part of a crowd at the 'corraleja' - a traditional bullfighting festival in the Caribbean region of Colombia. Shocking footage shows the topless 35-year-old running towards the killer beast with a number of other people participating in the deadly game.
He attempts to summersault over the bull but ends up being gored by it as the spectators can only watch on and scream in horror. It comes after a newlywed's heartbreak as husband and baby daughter are killed during honeymoon.

He was rushed to an local hospital but had not vital signs and was pronounced dead upon arrival. An onlooker told Colombian newspaper El Tiempo that Yovanis initially appeared to be okay following his impalement.
He runs towards the bull and tries to summersault over the animal
They said: "He stood up as if he was fine, but the blood was flowing. It was only a few seconds before he fell to the ground." Despite his death, the event, which was part of the patron festival and bans the killing of bulls, continued, reports the- known as 'corraleja'. Corralejas remain controversial in the country with animal rights groups calling for an end to them.
Following Yovanis's death, the Colombian Platform for Animals tweeted on Sunday: "This is the moment when a man identified as Yovani Romo was struck by a bull during the corralejas in Fundación, Magdalena.
"The man passed away yesterday after being gored by an injured bull, in an act of self-defence, amidst the "festivities" of the municipality. Last year, in Colombia, the "No More Olé" law, authored by Senator Esmeralda Hernández, was passed, through which bullfighting was banned throughout the country.
A spectator said Yovanis appeared to be fine following the initial impact
"It's time to say as well: NO MORE CORRALEJAS! Yes to a ban, no to "regulations". Last November, a man nicknamed 'The Shadow' died after he attempted to jump over a bull in front of shocked spectators at another festival in Columbia.
Brave spectators raced over to the man and pulled the body of Jhon Mario Puello Caballero away from the field in Bolivar once they realised what had happened.
However, they quickly dropped him to the ground as they had to run for their lives themselves from the agitated bull. The victim was eventually picked up as soon as people were able to get to him safely.

"The only thing I saw was a police car driving up and down the road to the beach. Not getting out of the car, just looking in the direction of the sea." ‌ Christos, who first met Michele at university 36 years ago, said: "I have been searching without sleep or anything. I don't think my wife would have gone to somebody in the car or anything. I really don't. I have tried everywhere, but one person alone is very difficult to find something." Temporary stay A coast guard official said that Michele had been "residing temporarily" in Serres, northern Greece. But neighbours at home in Crookston, Glasgow, previously told the Record the couple live permanently there but regularly travel to Greece and have a holiday home there. ‌ They said the pair had lived in Glasgow for several years after moving from England to be close to their son and shared their shock at her disappearance. One told the Record: 'It's just horrendous. I can't imagine what the family are going through. Swim warning A sports instructor previously reported seeing a woman matching Michele's description swimming in deep waters, saying he had warned her not to swim further out. Police later informed Christos that the man has withdrawn his statement. ‌ Neighbours back in Glasgow told how the couple regularly enjoyed hiking and wild swimming. 'They are very outdoorsy and active. They go out hillwalking and wild swimming. 'I feel like the longer this goes on the less likely it is that she will be found ok.'

Michele Bourda: Five key clues in sunbed mystery as hunt reaches worrying milestone

Two weeks after the mysterious disappearance of Michele Bourda, the Mirror looks at some of the key clues surrounding the disappearance of the 59-year-old British woman, who vanished while sunbathing next to her husband It's been two weeks since Michele Ann Joy Bourda vanished from her sun lounger while holidaying in the city of Kavala, Greece. The 59-year-old's whereabouts remain a mystery, and investigators continue to pore over clues as to what could have happened. ‌ On the afternoon of August 1, Michele's husband, Christos Bourda, dozed off on a sunbed on Ofrynio Beach. When he awoke, Michele, who had been sunning herself on the lounger next to him, was nowhere to be seen. Her belongings, including her clothes and bag, remained next to her chair. ‌ For the past fortnight, those following this case have been left perplexed as to what could have happened to the woman from Glasgow. Here, the Mirror takes a look at five major clues surrounding the woman's disappearance. ‌ Final hours before disappearance On the fifth day of Michele's disappearance, a photograph taken the morning she vanished was released to Greek media. The snap shows the Glasgow-based British tourist dining at a beachside restaurant alongside her Greek husband Christos. Retiree Michele, who previously worked at BT and for a local council, could be seen chatting to Christos, while clad in a dark swimming costume and sunglasses. Remembering the day she vanished, pharmacist Christos, 66, recalled: "She had seemed quite happy that day. We went for a short swim as it was windy and there were a few waves. She then ordered a few crepes and said we could have a nice sleep after. Unfortunately, I fell asleep first, and when I woke up, she wasn't there." Outfit clue Michele, who previously worked at BT and later at a local council, has been described as 5ft 5in, with a slim build. She has blue eyes and shoulder-length hair. At the time she was last seen, Michele had been wearing a rhinestone-embellished two-piece beaded swimsuit, with yellow beach shoes and red horn-rimmed sunglasses. ‌ The British embassy in Greece shared a notice on Facebook which read: "Michele Ann BOURDA went missing on 01/08/2025 at the beach of Ofrynio in Kavala. On the day she went missing, she was wearing a swimsuit with decorative stones, yellow water shoes and red plastic sunglasses. Her life is in danger." Foul play statement While asserting that they have not ruled out any possibilities, police have stated that they've seen no sign of foul play in their investigation ‌ The day after Michele disappeared, the Greek missing persons charity, Lifeline Hellas, issued a Silver Alert warning that her "life is in danger". The alert read: "Her life is in danger. If you know anything, contact the Silver Alert service, 24 hours a day, at the National SOS Line 1065." Greece's Hellenic Coast Guard launched a search operation at sea, and also investigated reports that her belongings had been left on the beach. Three recreational craft, five fishing boats and two patrol boats had been involved in the search. Christos has since criticised the police investigation, claiming: "The police didn't do anything on the day. One guest who was there that day said she didn't see any police and I didn't see any police that day either, not one single policeman at the beach. ‌ "The only thing I saw was a police car driving up and down the road to the beach. Not getting out of the car, just looking in the direction of the sea." Describing how he'd begun his own search instead, Christos, who first met Michele at university 36 years ago, shared: "I have been searching without sleep or anything. Day and night, especially early in the morning. ‌ "It was hard to see at night, though, as it was so dark. For days and nights I have gone up down the coast, searched bushes, olive groves, empty houses, building sites, later I went to the hills, nothing. [...] "The whole night before, she had been holding my hand, and you would never think anything was wrong or something like this would ever happen. I don't think my wife would have gone to somebody in the car or anything. I really don't. I have tried everywhere, but one person alone is very difficult to find something." Christos has now warned that other tourists may face similar dangers if urgent action is not taken to improve searches for missing people in the area. ‌ Temporary move Earlier this month, a coast guard official said that Michele had been "residing temporarily" in Serres, northern Greece. Speaking with The Sun, they explained: "Michele is a British citizen who likely also had a home in the UK. There are coast guard boats and private boats out looking for her." They added: "We are giving it our all. There are still no signs as to whether she went missing on land or sea but right now there are no plans either to end this search. We are not at that stage." ‌ Swimming warning A sports instructor previously reported seeing a woman matching Michele's description swimming in deep waters, stating that he had warned her not to swim further out. However, police have since informed Christos that the man has withdrawn his statement. Meanwhile, Michele's neighbours back in Glasgow have shared how she enjoys hiking and cold water swimming. One neighbour told Mail Online: "They've got bikes, and are quite active. They like to go walking, they like to go wild swimming. "They would go, and they would often be away for the whole day in the summer. "Then if we saw them coming in and out, and they would say, 'Oh, we've been somewhere up north and we were swimming'. And I would see her sometimes sit and reading in the garden."

NI family make appeal to find ‘gentle giant' who has gone missing in Greece

The family of a Co Derry man abroad in Greece have described their worry, having not had contact with him in 10 days. Limavady man Aaron Fryer – who was described by his family as a 'soft-natured gentle giant' – had been travelling around Europe teaching English as a digital nomad. During his travels, the 28-year-old travelled from Serbia to the Greek city of Thessaloniki on July 30 and intended to stay there for a month. However, he was last heard from on August 5, prompting his aunt Debbie Caskey to contact police. 5G mast torched in west Belfast arson Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph she said: 'There is a Facebook page for him up at the moment to help find him. 'We least heard from him 10 days ago, which is extremely out of character for him. His two best friends would talk to him every day, and so would I. 'Aaron is digital nomad, he travels around Europe and teaches English via a computer. He is six-foot-five, a gentle giant. He is just a lovely person, very kind, caring and soft natured. 'When we last spoke, we were probably talking about football and how work is going, how my day was going since we are out in Spain at the moment. 'I am very worried, his father is deceased, his mother is very concerned. 'He had come to Greece via Serbia, where he attended a Greek Orthodox church. I have contacted Greek police. 'It is just so out of character for him not to contact us, his phone just goes to voice mail, there is nothing on social media from him.' Aaron is described by his family as being six-foot-five with a strong stature. He has brown hair and may or may not have a beard, and he has no tattoos. "Police received a report on Saturday, 9th August that a man aged in his 20s was believed to be missing in Greece,' said a PSNI spokesperson. 'The matter has been referred to Greek authorities and our officers will assist with any enquiries that may be needed in Northern Ireland. We continue to liaise with the man's family.'
