Celeb SAS: Who Dares Wins was plunged into turmoil on Sunday (3 August) as a pair of celebrities withdrew during the opening episode.

The Channel 4 military challenge programme made its return on Sunday night, though proceedings didn't unfold as anticipated.

Fourteen famous participants, featuring Love Island personalities Chloe Burrows and Tasha Ghouri, alongside X Factor veteran Lucy Spraggan and footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa among others, faced gruelling tests under the watchful eyes of Mark 'Billy' Billingham, Jason 'Foxy' Fox, Rudy Reyes, and Chris Oliver.

An early challenge transported the recruits to a derelict facility for what was branded the 'most perilous' hostage extraction exercise they would encounter.
Former S Club 7 member Hannah Spearritt, 44, who later pursued acting with appearances in programmes including Primeval and EastEnders, was visibly finding the experience overwhelming, reports the Mirror.
Moments afterwards, it emerged that the Reach vocalist had become the inaugural departure from the programme, with fellow contestants suggesting she may have experienced a panic episode.

Nevertheless, in a pre-recorded interview shown shortly before, Hannah revealed: "I am pretty determined. I wouldn't say I give up easily but whether I get to the end or not...I don't think I'll go on the first day because I just wouldn't forgive myself."
She subsequently informed the directing staff: "Sorry - I'm done. Sorry. I've reached a point."

She wasn't alone in struggling early on, as dancer Louie Spence also made a dramatic exit when the demanding scenes became too much.
Speaking beforehand, Louie had said: "If there was a world war and they decided they were gonna call everyone up, would I be the first to jump up and say 'Yes me?' Being surrounded my thousands of soldiers, I might just jump at it. I'd be the home guard like on Dad's Army. We'll have a gay Dad's Army. Honestly, they wouldn't wanna mess with the gays!"
Yet despite his bravado, moments afterwards Chris Fox branded the group's performance as "abysmal" following their most recent challenge. He urged the recruits to remember their purpose for being there and advised them to approach things "seriously".

Louie interjected: "I wanna do an immediate withdrawal. I just don't have the conviction and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough," he declared whilst removing his armband. Chris offered him the opportunity to replace his armband, but Louie declined, prompting Chris to respond: "Get your kit."

In a pre-recorded interview, the 56 year old Louie had stated: "I'm a survivor, I would keep battling to survive. I think the worst way for me to leave the course would be to choose to leave. That would really p*** me off," yet moments later, it was confirmed he had indeed departed the programme.

Before his abrupt departure, Louie was full of admiration for the programme's directing staff, stating: "I actually looked at them and thought, 'oh, my God', because what they do and what they've done is incredible. I could never do that for real.
"Do you know what I mean? They are a different breed, like doctors and surgeons and things like that. So I did look at them in that sense and think that what they really did in their day job was incredible."
When questioned about what he found most challenging, he confessed: "Definitely the physical side of the course.

"Even though I've struggled with my anxiety and depression, mentally I was in a really strong, good place. It wasn't about an individual which they made very clear at the beginning, it was about the group. I love being a group player, I love being with people. But in that scenario, in the reality of it when I was there, I didn't think I was capable of being a group player."
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues on Channel 4 at 9pm

Love Island fans blast ‘awkward' change to series finale as they blame ITV cuts

Two cheating shocks were also exposed during the final Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island viewers have blasted an "awkward" change to the show's format as the Islanders enjoyed their final evening in the villa. This year, after enjoying their final dinner together, the Islanders all remained seated as they delivered passionate speeches to one another about their time in the show and their romances with one another. It left fans insisting the whole segment was "awkward" especially given that the major final dates were axed for this year's series. It has even seen some fans blame ITV budget cuts for the lack of dates and the "awkward" final scenes. Writing online, one Love Island viewer penned: "Love Island clearly spent their budget on blu's flights because why are there no real final dates and WHY are the final speeches so awkward???" Another added: "This is so f***ing awkward at least get them to stand up." Before a third echoed: "How awkward must it feel to sit and speak to you partner whilst everyone is looking at you in silence, I couldn't be on this show." This year's final four saw Angel and Ty, Shakira and Harry, Toni and Cach and Yasmin and Jamie vying to be crowned the winners as well as taking home the £50,000 prize. Later in the episode, the show was rocked by a double cheating shock. Tommy Bradley confessed to snogging the same girl as Ben Holborough behind Lucy Quinn's back. Tommy had been romancing Lucy after they left the villa but despite enjoying a few dates, it all crumbled when he enjoyed a smooch with another woman on a night out. Love Island shock as Tommy admits cheating on ex Lucy with the SAME girl Ben kissed behind Andrada's back Speaking to host Maya Jama on Love Island, hunky Tommy confessed his budding romance was over after his actions. Admitting he acted "disrespectfully", he told Maya how he "messed up" for going behind Lucy's back for the secret snog. But in another shock, it was later revealed that Tommy had kissed the same girl that Ben had also cheated on partner Andrada with. The Sun told how Ben had been pictured all over The Only Way Is Essex star Dani Imbert at a glitzy showbiz event with the pair reportedly going on to enjoy a series of snogs together. It is likely to spark speculation that Dani is also the woman in question in the middle of Tommy and Lucy's romance.

Harry and Shakira have had a tumultuous history throughout the series. Meanwhile, Maya asked whether they were more shocked at being in the final - or being there together. Harry answered: "I'm the most surprised man in here, in the final. "I wouldn't be here with anyone else other than Shakira." While Maya quipped back at him: "Probably wouldn't." Aside from Shakira, Harry also had a long-running connection with Helena Ford. The pair hooked up in the Hideaway after just 56 hours in the villa - despite not being coupled up at the time. They were coupled up twice throughout the series - but their relationship ultimately came to an explosive end. Writing online, fans have been left divided over whether Harry and Shakira should win the series. Watch the moment Maya Jama takes savage swipe at another girl after Meg and Dejon miss out on Love Island final One penned on X: "Shakira and Harry getting my vote to win is something I never thought I would say." Another wrote: "Surely Harry and his disgusting behaviour isn't going to be awarded 25k." While a third chimed in: "I want Shakira to win only, Harry does not deserve it." A fourth added: "I still can't believe Harry is in the final never mind the bookies favourite to win it." It comes as Harry's ex Emma Munro revealed what he messaged her before entering the villa. Harry, 30, was initially left stunned when his real-world ex Emma entered the compound, and he could be heard saying: "Oh my god, it's my ex." However, Emma was later dumped from the series alongside fellow bombshell Boris. She has since let slip their last conversation before he entered the ITV2 series as a show OG. Emma denied knowing he was going on the matchmaking series and said: "No, he [Harry] sent me the weirdest text right before he went into holding. "And he basically said 'oh you won't be able to contact me for the summer, please get hold of my mum if you need anything.' "I thought oh he's going to rehab. "Or he's checked into a wellness centre, how wrong was I?"
